Attraction Mishaps/Malfunctions

On Dinosaur last week, there was some kind of malfunction. After we were seated and had cleared the loading area, the ride stopped. Maintenance came out and worked about 10 minutes. We eventually had to unbuckle, stand up, and the rebuckle. That was a first malfunction for us.

When I was about 5 (1980)my entire family went to WDW..aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins, etc. Anyways, we went to a character breakfast. When we were done Tigger came over to sign autographs./pictures. Well my dad being the wise cracker that he is, pushed our bill under Tigger..as for him to sign for our bill. Well, Tigger caught on and proceeded to pick my dad up and carry him out of the restaurant. This must be why Tigger is my favorite character!!!::yes::

funniest thing for us was getting to the top of spaceship earth, first riders of the day and opps! someone forgot to turn out the lights!...lots of ladders and junk, must be the earth's "junk room"!

Oh, I wish I could have seen that! Too funny!

We got stuck in the corridor of doors once on HM for about 15 minutes. All of those "let me outta here ghosts" can get on your nerves very quick!!!!:scared:

At the end of May, we made a quick trip to MK and Epcot. The weekend we were there, it seemed as if all the rides had some sort of malfunction. It was kinda funny, b/c we thought we were cursed. Splash shutdown, BTMRR shutdown, we got stuck on Haunted Mansion for a short while. Test Track broke down for 20 minutes while we were on the ride (thankfully, not in the heat room!) Anyways, it was kinda funny to have all the breakdowns.

Last week, we made a quick trip to DL while visiting relatives in CA and we got stuck in POC for 20 minutes. BTMRR broke down too!!! The "curse" followed us to DL!!!

:hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

Well i got stuck on BTMRR on the 2nd lift hill. It was too cod for the brakes so they saftey offed or something like that i dont know what they said. But pretty much the brakes stayed on for saftey reasons. After a few minutes the ride started again. We got to the stations and they said we would ride again uniterupted. However, second lift hill, stuck once again. Needless to say they stopped the ride until later in the day when it got warmer. That was back in 00 i think when the winter rush was so cold. i remember putting on a sweatshirt, then a heavy jacket. IN FLORIDA!

This happened to us a few years ago.... We were riding the Great Movie Ride. For some reason the ride stopped right as the gangster was shooting out the light. The thing just wouldn't move. So our gangster improvised and when the ride didn't resume some people started coming out. But not only the people "running" the ride.. ALL the gangsters waiting for their cars to come by came out. It was a riot! They all stayed in character adlibbing about how they bought their matching suits at a warehouse for a great discount.... one yelling down to where they come out "MA! Put more spaghetti on! We're going to have company!" I'll never forget it. It was so much fun and I have to give them tons of credit for handling it the way they did.

We have had a couple of malfunctions in a couple of different trips. Last summer we road TT and about 10 seconds into the ride it started slowing down. Instead of speeding up to go out onto the track, we stopped and stared at the wall. Of course our kids were freaking out, they just knew that they were going to crash into the wall.

This summer, while we were at MGM, we were on RnR. Instead of after the countdown, blasting off, we sat staring at the sign. Eventually we took off, but all we heard was the voices and not the music. It really changed the ride without the music blasting in your ears. After we got off the ride we were able to return through the "chicken" door to immediately get back on the ride.

I was once waiting on line to Space Mountain, whe it broke down and all the lights came on. I was suprised to see how small the track really is. It looks like "The mouse" roller coaster that is in every amusment park.

we were on test track last year when we had finished the inside portion when you go outside the car took off then stopped in the middle of a turn they walked us off they fixed the ride we were first in line when it started back up no troubles after that:Pinkbounc :bounce:

Back in the mid-90s, I had gone to WDW with my girl scouts. I was upset to see Space Mountain was closed for rehab. A couple of us rode Wedway, and when we went inside Space Mountain, we were able to see all the work lights on and see them working I rode it a few more times just so I could take it all in!!! Just like everyone else that has stated before me, it was so WEIRD to see that the tracks are so close together! When I ride now, I always try ducking!!

During '98, my parents took my sis and I to WDW. We all rode on HM. My sis went with my dad and I rode with Mom. Well, when we got to the floating candleabra (sp?) scene, the ride stopped. We were so freaked out, because we SWEAR that candleabra was floating right towards us!!! I know it is a special effect, but mom and I were freaked out. My dad also spooked us by knocking on our Doombuggy. We also heard things moving behind us (the CMs I think ;) even though we kept thinking they were monsters). Every time I ride now, I get chills during that scene!

We were at Magic Kingdom in June and were the first riders on Snow White. They forgot to turn the lights off. It was very strange to ride it. We told the cm when we got off and he just shrugged his shoulders.

I was on Pooh in Feb and it broke down in the seconed scene and we had a walking tour as we walked out through the whole rest of the ride.

When they see me coming, they should just go ahead and shut Test Track down. It would save them a lot of trouble.

The worst day of it, we got on and it stopped partway through in the heat room, but the ride restarted after a minute or two. Then, as the car came outdoors, it started to speed up faster, faster, faster... STOP! We came to a pretty much screeching stop right in the middle of the banked left turn. The burning rubber smell was awful, and we were sitting on the embankment, hoping our seat belts would keep us from sliding down onto strangers (of course, their kids were on the low side of the car, so we didn't want to squish them!). When the CM came out to see what was going on, I asked him if he would take my AAA card to tow us out of there. He opened up the trunk or the hood, I can't remember which, to reset the computer in the car. After that was done, he walked along with us as we moved sloooooooowly through the embankment and along the rest of the outdoor portion of the ride. I am pretty sure it didn't say 64.8 MPH on the display at that point, but I'm not sure. Anyhow, they unloaded us and walked us back to the front of the line to try again, and they told the other CMs that our car was to be removed from the ride. We got onto a different car, and the whole ride stopped right when we were at the Belgian Blocks. We ended up being escorted off through cast areas and given those "come back through the exit" passes.

That's the only time I was actually evacuated partway through... but I've been on TT when it has broken down numerous times. I always joke that it's me, even though I know TT is really known for it!

Once at DL, we were on IASW right at the end where the boats stop to let you off. There wasnt anyone in the boat in front of us(which was a special handicap boat) and when we bumped into that boat and another boat behind us bumped into us, it pushed our boat UNDER the boat in front of us. As each boat behind us came up and bumped into the line it kept pushing us further under the boat in front of us that was going higher and higher into the air and eventually onto the hood of our boat. It got almost to the point that we were going to jump up onto the platform to get out of the way and not be hit in the head with the oncoming boat but at the last second the boats in front of us started moving again and the handicapped boat floated forward and off the hood of our boat. We told the CM when we got off but she looked unconcerned....

We also rode Test Track once and just as we shot through the doors it started POURING rain and it really stung my face as we zipped along. It was funny looking back, but at the time it was a huge surprise.
