How about we finish this puppy off?
Yay!
That just means the next one is coming sooner!
I convinced Darcy that to truly have
Winnipeg's finest burger,
he had to have a VJ Special.
(Burger with chili, shredded lettuce, diced onions,
sliced tomato, yellow mustard, dill-pickle spears
and mayo on a white bun... drool...)
Well, OK, not a big fan of mustard, and Chili makes it really messy, but I suppose if you have chili mustard is a good thing, so perhaps I would try it that way. I would prefer it without the chili and mustard.
Reasonably sure that I just went down
and grabbed some yogurt or a muffin
or something equally dull for breakfast.
Who knows!
Riveting.
Hmmm... how about this.
There was a large poisonous snake
slithering through the lobby.
People were screaming
and running in panic.
I calmly walked up to the snake
and began to rhythmically move my hands,
effectively hypnotizing it.
Once the snake was swaying in synch
to my hand gestures,
I quickly grabbed it just behind the head,
avoiding the sharp fangs.
Moments later I had fileted the animal
and was serving up fricasseed snake
to the now cheering guests.
Sure. Let's go with that.
OK. Mister Walter Mitty.....
We giddily skipped over
to the restaurant.
That's roughly when we discovered
that it was closed for renovations.
Well.... poop.
We made the long walk back to the strip.
So... guess where we ate lunch! Guess!!!
Well bummer. I would have liked to hear about this chocolate shop. I have no idea because I only know the fancy pants restaurants there and not the walk up QS kind of places!
And every hour on the hour,
from six pm to one am,
all the casino lights are
temporarily extinguished,
and then relit with a show
on the underside of the canopy.
It's definitely worth seeing.
Yes
I have happened to have been there during this time and they played some pretty cool tunes as well!
If you'd like to get a bird's eye view of the action.
You can take a zip-line down the full length
of the attraction.
No thank you!
It seemed to encapsulate
what Vegas is all about.
Minus the gambling of course.
Perhaps that's just a given.
I prefer to gamble in Vegas, besides the food that's why we go there!
I felt kinda guilty.
You can see it written all over my face, right?
Right?
Hello?
Actually, the two ladies were very nice.
If they'd been crude or lewd,
I probably wouldn't have felt comfortable
and not have done that.
Heck, in my teens, I wouldn't have done it!
But in my advancing years,
I tend not to give a hoot so much anymore.
It suits you well. I wonder how they would have felt if I walked up and wanted a picture with them? Fran would never do it, but I might!
You know that photos in a casino are illegal.....
So when a chance to try a Gordon Ramsay
restaurant came up....
i.e. Gordon Ramsay Steak
... we jumped at the idea.
And then we saw the prices.
A bowl of soup alone is $17.
I would have still gone in. I need to put one of his restaurants on my radar for Las Vegas since we'll never get to his restaurant in West Hollywood.
Hate to tell you this, but... no food porn.
I decided to go with traditional
English pub fare and went for the
Yorkshire Ale Batter Fish & Chips.
Ruby had a burger and fries.
Everything was very good.
I'd eat there again.
I'm totally craving Fish and Chips at this point....I know a great restaurant here and really want to go there now!
I know! Peas! Who'd've guessed!
But it was actually really tasty!
Just goes to show,
you can't judge a pea by its pod.
Well if they are English peas in season, I have learned that they are good. Frozen peas....may as well be Brussel Sprouts.
We passed this store with
a rather large statue of Lady Liberty.
Made completely out of
Strawberry Twizzlers.
Because... why not?
Anything goes in Vegas!
Apparently, this wasn't a regular Blackjack table.
In Blackjack switch, you must play two hands.
(At $10 per hand... so effectively a $20 table.)
The difference being, you are dealt four cards.
Two per hand. You are allowed (if you wish)
to switch the cards to give yourself
a better chance to win.
That just sounds weird.
I played something like 12-15 hands.
I wonder. Should I have kept going?
It took about 30 minutes to play those hands.
And I didn't lose a single hand.
Not one.
I didn't win them all;
a few I pushed.
But I left the table $100 richer
than when I sat down.
Good job. We have been known to play all night and if you play the right odds, you can't help but win.
Still.... I've never had a streak like that.
But, I keep hearing that a good player
knows when to walk away.
If you walk away ahead, you're a good player.
And we had a nice meal at Mon Ami Gabi.
The food is good, but the best part
is being able to sit outside.
You can either look slightly down at
the people going by on the sidewalk,
(Great people watching... and you see
all kinds in Vegas!)
or you can watch the Bellagio fountains.
(Yes there are palm trees in the way.
So what?)
Well that sounds nice!
And with that,
our Vegas trip drew to a close
Glad you had a good time.
I will be back later to comment on the other update.
