We're taking a stroller for our 5 year olds. It's old and stained. We don't want to pack it for home. I know before our trip in 2013 I read about people leaving things for other DIS members who were arriving after their trip. Anyone know how to go about finding someone. I've got a double Maclaren (twin triumph I think) I'd like to find someone else who'd like to use it for their WDW trip!

Jambo Everyone – We are booked for 10 nights in a Villas - Studio Value Jambo House Aug 31st – Sep 10th. Originally had AoA Family Suites (Lion King), then CSR, then back to AoA and over the weekend tried to see what I could get at AKL knowing discounts were around the corner and here we are. DD and DW don’t know we are at AKL, may keep it a secret until we arrive. DD doesn’t even know about the trip yet. We’ll hold off until about a month out to tell her. I’m so giddy about staying at AKL I haven’t been able to sleep the past few nights.


Enjoy the thread and appreciate all the insight. We can’t wait as this will be our first time at AKL and DD loves animals.

Just wanted to say hi to everyone! My DH, best friend, and I are staying at AKL for the first time from 9/1-9/5. It has been on my Disney bucket list for some time and I was finally able to book with a room only discount by staying up all night Sunday! We are annual passholders and go a few times a year but have only ever stayed in Value or Moderates. We have eaten at Boma before, but I can't wait to try Sanaa! Super excited for our trip!

Hi guys. I have a couple quick questions if anyone has some info! We will be arriving at AKL super late Thursday night/Friday morning for our trip (we'll be driving down from Pensacola, FL after work). That shouldn't present any problems with checking in or anything right? Also, can you still go out on the animal lookouts late at night and what time (if any) do they close those? Does anyone know what time they typically show movies at night? Thanks so much! I'm sure I'll have more questions as we get closer, but that's it for now.

Any recent information about CL for AKV? Like within this calendar year (2016)? I was reading on other threads how CL has gone downhill.

I would like to hear this too, Starry. I booked CL but now I'm sort of regretting it. No turn down anymore unless we request it? And how much of a snob am I going to feel like requesting it? We did build in a few days of rest to our trip so we'll probably spend some time visiting the lounge, but...I don't know. There's no separate check-in either? No welcome note? Last time we stayed club level we got all sorts of nice little things like a folder full of info, a little wooden giraffe magnet, and of course the chocolates from turn down. Feeling a little let down by what I'm reading...

Yup. I don't have it booked yet, but I am hoping to get it booked for next year. It's an extra cost, point wise (renting from a DVC owner), like 20-30 points extra for the stay.

I figure if this had happened to anyone here, it would have been posted here. I've read the entire thread and have only seen mention of No Seem Em's near the pool/animals, but I thought I'd ask to give my mom some firsthand accounts.

She sent me a text yesterday saying that my cousin (who visits wdw yearly) told her that one of her regulars at work (who also visits wdw often) had stayed at AKL and moved resorts after one night because they woke up covered in some sort of bites, and they thought it was due to bedbugs or fleas.

I feel like this is something that would be handled quickly and something you would hear about from more people but just thought I'd ask if anyone has experienced anything like this?

That's what they're saying. You can request turndown at check in. You check in at the lobby desk but they'll escort you upstairs to the club lounge and they'll take over. I just stayed 4/17-20 DVC and all was great! I also stayed 1/8-11 regular reservation and I had all the amenities. Nothing to complain about here. I've stayed AKL-CL twice through resort and twice dvc and their service has been great and the same! Enjoy! It's fabulous and the CMs are superb IMO!

Bed bugs can happen anywhere. My DH always goes into hotel rooms first with a flash light checking for signs of bed bugs before the rest of us step foot in that room (or bring in anything). Takes an extra 5 minutes but we won't occupy the room if we see them!

So excited ~ we just booked AKV Jambo House for Nov 26 to Dec 2. The kids and I are so excited. DH won't admit it but I think he is excited too or perhaps just happy to have our location secured.

Thank you! I would think that over the 175+ pages of this thread it would have been mentioned somewhere if it happened even sporadically. I wonder if they got bit up the night before while out and about but just blamed it on the room and the proximity to animals.

This is a good tip. I always mean to do it but never actually do, lol. I really should start.
