A t-shirt and maybe some ears would work great as a simple costume
This, exactly! Although maybe a nose...

We currently have reservations for the Beach Club in January. Was hoping for 25% discount but it's only 10%.
Thinking of staying at the Yacht Club instead since it's a 25% discount. What kind of construction will be going on ?
Don't like to see or hear construction when on vacation at Disney.
Subbing!! Just booked a fabulous rate through my TA for BC, January 7 - 14th. I haven't stayed since the room refurb and can't wait!
I just read about an expansion of the convention center area for YC & BC that is starting next month. We're booked to stay at BC in November and have never stayed there before. Does anyone know the extent of construction? Are there room requests I should make to stay away from this area?
There are no published telephone numbers directly to the resorts. They go to an off site call center.
Wheelchair rental info is available on the DisABILITIES forum. It is cheaper to rent from an off site vendor and you would have use of it in & around the resort, which is what you need. You could easily wheel her through the International Gateway entrance to Epcot and experience dinner in France. She might love this adventure.
Good Luck
We had 3 rooms at BC a few weeks ago. 2 of our 3 rooms were WC Accessible - 1631 and 1633. We had regular tubs, not the roll in showers, but the bathroom was bigger and there were handles on the wall that pulled down if needed. I actually like that room because of the bigger bathroom. We were on the ground floor, right off the lobby. My parents room had the door that opened with the push button, mine was just a regular door (didn't work), and I am glad it didn't work since I don't like the door staying open that long. These were standard rooms as well. Both of these rooms did not have a daybed.Oh Thank you! This is what I needed to know! I will not book the roll in shower as my mother is not in a wheel chair and can walk around a room. Im sure she will LOVE the 30 second door, allowing her time to get out of the room and not have to hold the door and push the walker. At home she uses a cane, but when we go out, she gets scared she will fall and uses the full walker. Its a balance issue, not a walking problem...other than she is slower than many and tires easier. We will be going in March and she will be 79 then. She wont need the day bed or lounge...it will just be her, and possibly my daughter. Im hope the accessible room with tub is similar, but at this point, knowing there are no grips in the regular rooms, I wont feel as guilty keeping the accessible room I booked for her even though she is not in a wheelchair. She has to have the grips. Thanks again! Youre detailed description helped a lot.

I just made a ressie for a studio for May 4 - 8, and the description which I copied and pasted was as follows:
Disney's Beach Club Villas Deluxe Studio
Make yourself at home on the shore of a sparkling lake at this elegant New England-inspired Resort.
- Sleeps 4
- 1 queen-size bed & 1 full-size sleeper sofa
- Kitchenette
- Full bath
I just realized the biggest problem with this change. I needed a new ticker! I've spent the last seven months watching it creep slowly to the right and now it's all the way back to the beginning!
Hi folks! Tried searching the forums and came up empty handed but figured you guys can help. Getting ready to do online check-in for our first stay at the Beach Club Villas in November- anything specific I should request? I'm not familiar with the layout/set up. For example- when we stayed at the Boardwalk Villas DISers were kind enough to suggest asking for a room near transportation so we could avoid the mile long walk to the elevators- perfect! Anything like that I should know about BCV?
So, we're back!! We had an AMAZING time!
When we landed at MCO I got a text saying we were in room 4225 I believe. After a quick search we realized we'd be overlooking SAB. Not the best location with an 8 month old. So when we got to the hotel I went to the front desk and the gave us room 4071. The woman at the front desk was super sweet, showing me a map and explaining where the rooms would be. 4071 was GREAT! We were really close to the "secret entrance" of YC, away from the lobby and SAB so it was super quiet AND we could see IllumiNations and hear the music, too. Perfect! Yes, I do think the rooms need upgrades but based on what they did at BC (and GF, where we stayed last year), the rooms will be amazing when it's all said and done.
It was so strange to finally stay at YC. We usually hang out around the YC/BC and BWI a few times during our trips so to stay there was so awesome. It honestly felt like we never left Epcot. Loved walking there. Loved SAB in the afternoons - we spent so much time there.
Overall we will totally stay there again. Just amazing!!!
So I'm back home and mostly unpacked. I had a wonderful stay at the Beach Club. Getting the magical upgrade to Club Level was wonderful. I was in room 5725. It overlooked SAB. Loved that room.
It was loud during the day because of the pool games but that wasn't an issue for me - I was so worn out the one day I took a nap break that I had no problem sleeping through the noise.
All of the Club Level Staff were wonderful - making sure I had what I needed - one tracked me down a toothbrush when I realized I'd forgotten to get one in the gift shop since my luggage went to Kentucky my first night. (Southwest did find it and get it to me the next day.) The Club Level staff was able to link my MNSSHP magic band as well. Turns out it hadn't been activated like I was told but they were able to take care of it.
I loved eating a light breakfast in the lounge - since I was doing F&W, I didn't need a big breakfast. I really enjoyed the fruit and oatmeal. And 1 evening I was back early enough for a glass of wine and some desserts. I took a look at the snacks one afternoon and wasn't impressed with them but did stop in and get a Diet Coke during my break every afternoon so that was nice since I didn't do the refillable mug this trip.
One thing I learned was that if you do online check in, your credit card will be charged the full amount of your room cost on your arrival day. I had a room only reservation and I was going to apply a large gift card to pay for the room. They were able to remove the charges, apply the gift card and then charge the difference - it did take some time to do.
The decor in the room and at the resort are totally my style. I loved walking to Epcot and walked to DHS but it was so hot, that wasn't the best decision. I took the boat back to the resort from DHS that afternoon instead.
Sadly I caught a horrible cold so I only went to SAB once because I was too miserable for swimming. I found out the resort doesn't sell cough syrup but they do sell cough drops - I had plenty of my own cold tablets with me otherwise. And now that I'm home, it's morphed into a double ear infection (not fun!) but I loved the Beach Club and I will definitely try to stay there again.
Do you think it will have much impact on Yacht Club guests? We have a garden/woods view, I'm wondering if it would be better to switch to lagoon?
Thanks for adding me to the BOG list! It took me about 80 scrolls on the first page to figure out what you were talking about! My exact dates are 03/26 - 04/03.
Could you please update us for 3/10-3/19 we switched from the BC to YC to take advantage of the Disney Visa promotion thank you
woohoo! Joining in - We are doing our first trip without our DD5(almost 6) since she was born for a little adult F&W time - super excited! I'm still in shock as we had booked at POFQ but kept watching and waiting and hoping something at BC would open up for our dates... and this morning it was there! Yay! So happy to be back at BC and it will be perfect for our two night getaway!
I have a lot of catching up to do on this thread! I haven't really been on since our trip in July. We've had a LOT going on since we got back, and recently got hit with some pretty bad news and I'm having a hard time shaking this mood I'm in. So, they last few days I've been focusing on Disney! That is helping to cheer me up. However, as far as DH is concerned our camping trip next month is going to be our last trip for a long while. I've told him I need a new trip to plan to get my mind off things and with all the new AP perks I'm trying to talk him into renewing ours next year. Wish me luck! We had a 3 night trip at the GF over Labor Day weekend, that place was amazing, but still the BC is my favorite. We are excited about our upcoming stay at Fort Wilderness in our travel trailer, DD7 is kind of bummed about not being at a "real resort" though (as am I, as much as I love camping I would rather be at BC of course). Anyway, I'm dreaming of a BC trip next summer, we'll see if I can make that a reality! I'm hoping for a good TA deal that we can't refuse
I have some good pictures of our room and view that I will post soon!
Yes the vanity was inside the bathroom with the tub and toilet with a sliding door - very spacious! Vanity in the picture below - toilet was in the middle and the tub to the far right. I tried uploading more pics but I keep getting errors. Thanks! Was the vanity are inside the bathroom with the tub and toilet, or outside the door? Also, being on the first floor, did you have a patio? If so, did it have a chair?
Here are pictures of the view from Standard View Room 2608. We loved the location of this room and the huge balcony!
Yacht Club Online Room Requests, October 2016:
I just did my first advanced check-in.
The options available for selection were:
Ground Floor
Upper Floor
Lower Floor
Near Elevator
Can somebody who has done the advanced check-in recently (like the past week) at the Beach Club let me know if it is the same options being offered at that resort. Or is there still an option for Full Balcony? Anything else?
I did online checkin for BC and choices were
Large balcony
