Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Hello! I have been back from my BC stay 6/21-6/28 for a few weeks and just now coming out of my PDD (Post Disney Depression). I wanted to post details of my room as I know there was a question posted back on page 921 about a certain type of room. I had a standard view room booked, my requests were full balcony, higher floor and I had Touring Plans submit a room request form for me. I had room #3723, with a full balcony, 2 queen beds and daybed with a view of Storm Along Bay and Crescent Lake (lovely flat roof as well). It was almost the end of the hallway and very quiet, except when the music and gas were going on at the pool. If anyone has any questions please feel free to PM me. Now to look forward to 1st BC CL stay April 2018.
Thank you, I just went on a requested with Touring Plans 3725 or near.

We have been back from our 4th of July trip to the BC since last Wednesday. But the Photobucket Uproar has got me running for cover! I have a lot of photos that have been posted on the Dis that are now MIA. :( But I did manage to get the room view pictures ready to post. :)

We had booked a standard view room through a travel agent and had a nice surprise when we finally got into our room. Although it was still a standard view room with the biggest flat roof view the the BC offers, it was a corner room with a king bed. :) We had room 3727 at the end of the hall. It had two standing balconies instead of the full balcony that we had requested but it was so hot outside we never would have used the full balcony, anyway. That is the second time that we have received a corner room with a king bed. I was teasing the CM at the check in desk about getting one of a dozen king beds at the BC and she said that she doesn't think they have as many as a dozen king beds in the resort. So we got really lucky!

What a huge room!! - Did it have less storage due to TV unit being smaller?

We returned from our trip on Thursday, we were on L2 in the corner overlooking the Vollyball courtyard, huge balcony, standard room size.

It did seem to have less storage with just that one dresser, although there were drawers in the two nightstands that we could have used.

We had a corner room overlooking the volleyball court on the third floor back in April of 2015. That was a great location!

This is what I have on Page 1 to explain some of the similarities and differences between the BC and YC. If anyone has any suggestions, additions or notices anything I should change/correct, let me know.

What are the differences between the Beach Club and the Yacht Club?

The Beach Club and Yacht Club are similar resorts in terms of service and amenities, and have equal access to the shared pool complex, health club and video arcade. Both resorts have the same management team in place.

Some minor differences have been noted by guests:

Beach Club- club level lounge renovated in 2014, room renovations completed in August 2015
Lighter, beachy decor in lobby and rooms
Lobby can be active and lively with families waiting for meals at Cape May
Closer to EPCOT and Marketplace Gift Shop/Quick Serve Dining
Approximately 50% of rooms in all room categories have full balconies. The remaining are standing balconies.
Room Amenities include carpets on floor, ceiling fans, Cuisinart Pod Coffee Makers

Yacht Club- renovations to club level lounge started October 2015, room renovations completed in June 2017
Darker woods and nautical decor in lobby and rooms
Lobby is more serene
Convention attendees are more likely to be booked at YC
Closer to Hollywood Studios and Friendship Boats
Most rooms have a full balcony
Room Amenities include wood floors, lots of storage units, Keurig coffee makers. No ceiling fans in rooms following the rehab.

Thank you SO much. This is exactly what I'm looking for. As of today we're leaning toward Beach Club, however now that you mention the serenity of Yacht Club's lobby and general feel, we might just have to consider that! The Boat is a huge plus for us, as is the proximity to Hollywood Studios and Epcot. The new rooms in Yacht Club are stunning, so we may just have to flip a coin for this one.
Again, thank you! I thoroughly appreciate this.

You are welcome. I would (and have) happily stayed at both resorts. 5 times at BC and 1 time at YC. My preference is for the lighter décor of the Beach Club, but the balcony is very important to me. I have been fortunate to get a full balcony for every stay at the Beach Club.

::yes::

Thank you for taking the time to post all of the pictures - especially the YC CL food offerings! Excited for our CL stay for Food & Wine in September!

Can I ask you how the alcohol was handled throughout the day? It was so great at our Poly CL stay when the grab and go fridge in the lounge was stocked with beer, and hard cider - no having to ask a CM during the afternoon.

I also wanted to suggest that you may want to post the pictures on the Club Level thread also - lots of folks go over there when trying to decide which resort to choose for their CL stay and love pictures!
Alcohol was always available, but I don't think any beer was kept in the refrigerator during the day. However, there were always 2-3 cast members working in the lounge so we never had to wait for a drink.

For those recently back from YC, any issues with the AC?
At YC now and no issues with AC at all, I actually think it's quieter than I remember from previous trips. When the balcony door is open it turns off, and then automatically back on again when door shut. We have it set to 21 auto :)

Hi Dee, cast rates for 2018 came out today, so I couldn't resist and booked the Beach Club!!! We will be there April 24th to May 1st. I booked a standard room and plan on spending time at the pool and Epcot. Sooooo excited. I have been calling every day for these rates and finally today was a success.

Your MB will allow you to go up the floor without having to talk to anyone at the front desk. Just scan your band in the elevator. When you get off, the CL desks are right there. If you do online check in, you will (hopefully) be texted your room number. Even if I have my room number, I always check-in at the CL desk to let them know I've arrived and get my packet with the lounge information. At the YC/BC you may also be given a welcome drink. However, if you have never been there before and are uncomfortable going up by yourself just let the front desk know you are CL and ask them to escort you upstairs. They may call first to tell them you're coming and then bring you upstairs. Have fun!
Thank you!!!! I didn't want to sound snooty announcing I was club level!

Well we can now say everything is "Go"for us , everything is payed in full... a month earlier than planned but hey that's great. Just need to do some holiday clothing shopping before the UK sales finish:crazy: At the end of July everything in the stores turns to winter and Christmas stock. Reorganised one tricky ADR yesterday since Citricos changed their menu again and swapped that for Yatchsman' Steakhouse once again the boys love their steaks so that keeps them content. Just waiting now for our FP+ window to open. Just need to decide what to eat on arrival day since we hope to check in by around 4 pm...either a quick meal from A&C marketplace or pop into Epcot or a nice stroll along the Boardwalk to stretch our legs and pick something over there. I can't believe how quickly the weeks are flying over now:love:

Is it possible to walk up and get a table for Beaches and Cream? The reservations are completely gone for our stay. I didn't mind waiting around for a table with a pager. I really want to eat the food so the walk up window won't help. The have the best grilled cheese.

I've done a walk up on 3 occasions, they usually get you in within half hour, sat at the counter :)

We've tried walkups a few times. Once or twice we've been told a 60-90 minute wait (we didn't wait), once or twice told they weren't taking walkups, and once told maybe a 20 minute wait (we waited that time). So my experience is that its very hit or miss as to whether they'll take you at all and how long the wait will be.
