My mother used to do that, LOL. As children we thought she was being weird but as we grew up just realised she had a good ear and sense of empathy like yourself.Yes I do! If I hang out with someone for a while I start to pick up their accent. I'm over 50.... It's weird. LOL

One of my favorite British television programs is Time Team, which I watch on You Tube. I think they have had every possible British accent on the show at one time or another and I like them all.But there are so many British accents!. Do you mean the classic old school BBC/received pronunciation English? I am hoping that you mean Anthony Hopkins, Richard Burton etc.
My husband is Scottish. He definitely uses a different way of speaking when he thinks someone may not understand for example when placing an order. For years he kept getting whatever I ordered because it was easier than hearing what? Sorry? Could you repeat that?For mature audiences only
