Have you ever got the line "GOING AGAIN"? We will be going for a thrid time in a year, even I believe this is alot. We had a family party and every one was saying this. Some even could not hide the look of shock on their face. Last time I looked we pay our own bills, so why should anyone care?

I heard this when I was going once year. The same folks would go to the Jersey shore 3 or 4 times a year, and 2 of those trips were a week or longer. I started again thing on them and they wouldn't get it. Oh well.

Oh yeah....all the time. Some people don't understand why we go more than once or twice in a lifetime. Serioiusly!!!!! I guess for some that is what they can afford but some people just don't get DISNEY...and so for them....they see it as just another theme park. We went three times last year and again this year and trust me.....PEOPLE THINK WE HAVE LOST IT. :lmao: We have gone many times before joining DVC we just love it but now that we joined DVC OMGGGGGGGGGG THE LOVE IS ONLY STRONGER. I love the DVC resorts that we stay in each time....sure I have favorites but I would stay in any of them in pinch. ;) I just love having a slower paced vacation now.....and the resorts are soooooooooooooo fun, so beautiful we find we enjoy time spent there now vs. when we stayed in regular resort rooms. Then we would commando parks all trip long. Who cares what others think or ask......LIKE SOMEONE SAID.....THEY DON'T PAY THE BILLS WE DO. :thumbsup2

Yeah,Get it all the time,spent27 days on property in 3 trips, and we get asked alot,``what could you possibly still need to do``

I respond,``you either know nothing about Disney or haven`t been since the 70`s`` we haven`t even done half of what can be done!

"Not another DISNEY trip" is something I hear from colleagues at work all the time as we do 3-4 Disney trips a year (WDW, DL, DLP, DCL, Disney on Broadway, etc.). We even booked 2 DL trips for the latter part of this year.

People ask, what are you doing for the long weekend. We say "we're flying to Disneyland". They look ill. The best they can swing is a one nighter in a Motel 8 in Grand Forks, ND (a 4-hour drive from Winnipeg) or stay in a dumpy native casino on reserve territory in the middle of nowhere. :lmao:

I enjoy their reactions. popcorn::

The best one came from a co-worker, and from my boss (with green eyes of jealousy showing). They've asked me in semi-snarling tones "aren't you getting bored of Disney?" My response to them has been: "I am getting bored of you, this office and my job - but I am not bored of my Disney vacations! If I ever get to that, you have my permission to just shoot me." :rotfl:

We are DISNEY NUTCASES! 5 days and counting til the magic begins again :dance3:

we are beginning to get this I have chosen to ignore all the family members who say this and plan not to be home for the holidays but relaxing in my Disney Home away from them and at one with the Mouse

Yes, yes, yes...we've heard this all too often! Some people just don't get IT! We are the fortunate ones because we do! Now this being said, my rational side always kicks in and I feel the need to justify why we go so much...and it usually goes something like this.....we drive, use our points & have ap's so we pay for gas and food and don't pay for tickets or hotels....when I'm looking to go on a trip somewhere and price things out, Disney always comes out cheaper, plus since we go so often we don't feel the need to stay in the park all day so we get to enjoy our beautiful DVC resort too. Now if I wasn't justifying it, I would simply say that I need my FIX!!:rotfl:

:worship: :worship: YES THAT IS WHAT I DO TOO. OMG I am always telling my son's friends if they ask him what we are doing for this week off from school or say maybe a summer vacation...."oh well you see, this is like a time share and we not only go to the parks, we do this or that and the resort itself is just awesome and blah blah blah". I start in on the "other" activities we do, the restaurants and such. OMG why do we feel the need to do this????:rotfl2:

I don't know why we do it, but we need to stop!!:rotfl2:

YES WE DO. Plus people I work with always say "oh I guess you are going to Disney this summer, or this Nov, or this Jan" LOL

Okay, I'll go first. I went to Disney in March, July and I'm going in November and December. There....I've said it and I'm not going to justify!!:woohoo:

Okay me too " I went to Disney in Jan, and for 14 NIGHTS in July and we are going back for another week in Nov" :woohoo:

Oh and my classic response is telling them that we have AP's, the airfare was so cheap (when it used to be) and we consider this our "bonus trip". ....because of our developer points and APs it is no brainer NOT TO GO.

I have a co-worker that tries to "diminish" my trips (and I try - really try to go at least twice a year, and would go every 2 months if I could!) to the World. I get comments like "oh, you're not really going away, you go to the same place all the time", or "aren't you sick of it, don't you want to travel to other places?", or "I don't get why people (meaning me ;) ) would want to go to the same place over an over, isn't that just boring?"

I tell her that the very reason people buy "timeshares" is exactly because they love a place so much they want to go back as often as possible, then I blow her off - jealousy - not a pretty thing:scared1:

I never justify. I just ask the questioners why they care where we go on vacation. Almost always results in a change of subject - by them, LOL.

Really, it's a rude question. Self-supporting adults are allowed to choose how they spend their discretionary income.

To me, this just goes to show how little the askers know about Disney. When I was a kid, everyone in my town (at least it seemed like everyone) went to Cape Cod ("The Cape", as we called it) every summer, sometimes for weeks at a time. And not once did anyone say "Why are you going there AGAIN?" People who don't know WDW think of it as just 4 theme parks. They don't realize all the other things you can do-the great resort pools, the DTD shopping, the miniature golf, the regular golf, renting bikes, renting boats, etc., etc. So depending on how I feel, sometimes I enlighten them on some of the things besides theme parks to do, but sometimes I just ignore them and think how little they know.

We have neighbors that go "up north" every other weekend to their vacation home. We just go farther. 73 nights for us in 2008 in Disney resorts and cruise ships.:cool1:

I honestly have just quit telling people at work where we are going. It seems perfectly fine for people to go to the same beach the same week of the year, year after year after year. I don't say "you're going to the beach AGAIN??" I generally just keep it myself, except for a select few. Some that ask I may say that I'm going to Florida or Orlando. Don't get me wrong I'm by no means ashamed of where we vacation, I just don't want to hear it from others. So many just don't get it..
