P.S. There is one other 'bonus' being offerred, but I will not comment on that until I confirm that I'm getting one! ;)

Thanks for posting! VAKL is the one place I would consider an add-on (already VWL).

Keep us posted with any updates!

Woo-hoo!! This is exactly what I wanted to see..

Please thank your top secret super great magnificient yo-ho yo-ho Disney insider from all us !!!;) :dance3: :hippie:

Thanks Greenban! I now am happy we decided to add on at VWL...if it is true you cannot guarantee savannah view then that is a deal breaker for us.

If we want our savannah fix we will just stay at the lodge.

Since the info is still a rumor, I'll just move this thread over to Mousecellaeous where it can enjoy the company of the other AKV threads.

Same here ... no Savannah view guaranteed ... that's a deal breaker ... :(

What a shame :(

Thanks for the update, Tony and thanks to "Deep Croak" for providing more info!

Savannah/Pool View: This may be a problem, not clear, but looks like you could get either view, neither guarenteed. :(
Not being able to book a guaranteed savannah view wouldn't make any sense whatsoever. I'm guessing they are following the BWV model where guaranteed boardwalk view costs the same as the other preferred-view villas that overlook the pool or canal. In other words, the points required for guaranteed savannah view villas and pool view villas are the same but you will know at time of booking which one you reserved. Now I don't necessarily agree that pool view and savannah view are worth the same, but I don't feel that way about the two BWV preferred views either!

It will be interesting to hear why they needed both "value" and "standard" categories. I'll be very interested to hear more about the types of villas that fall into those two categories.

Thanks, Tony! And a "ribbit ribbit" to Deep Croak!

After comparing the point charts to BWV, it appears that for AKV 1BR value and standard views the weekend night points are not as high in comparison to the weekday rates as they are at BWV standard view. This is great for those of us who like to stay 6 nights (one weekend night). We're not interested in moving resorts for the weekend night(s) to save points so this is going to be great!

And that "Club" rate for a studio during the lowest point season looks very appealing!

ETA: clarify that I was comparing value and standard views for a 1BR at AKV with BWV standard view.

Thanks for the info...

Cant wait to make ressies....SOMEWHERE:lmao:
Still waiting to close...
Kerri

I emailed my guide this morning and just got this back:

"I will have the info. on Monday when I get my ' training '--then we can begin the process of talking to members who are interested on Thurs., Feb. 1st. I will call you that day or you can call me--but for sure we will get it done --it should be another great DVC resort and glad you will be a part of it."

Looks like I'm buying more points on Thursday. Yay!

I just checked the WDW website, I wanted to try and book a Deluxe Savannah View room for the week we always travel. This year Boston school vacation is 4/14-4/21, there was availibility a Sat to Sat stay would cost with tax $3622.50 for 4.
Last year 06 that same school vacation week fell on Easter when we stayed at the BC. So I figure we would need close to 300 pts, which we do have at the SSR. If they can't guarantee a Savannah veiw(which to us is all we'd want) it doesn't make sense for us to add on or purchase 300 additional points. Everyone's different and we will see what they have to offer but we may wait for the Contemporary.

God, I hope you're correct. While I think we'd plan most often to stay concierge (club) level in the lodge, I'd like the option of savannah view guaranteed in the new building. I don't mind calling day by day to get guaranteed savannah view rooms! I've had practice for getting boardwalk view rooms that way.

I hope I am too! But I just can't see Disney making such a colossal blunder as to say it's hit or miss whether you will get a savannah view villa. They are smart enough to know that it matters and they read these boards where many of us (myself included) have stated that the lack of a guaranteed savannah view is a deal breaker.

I think the bigger risk re: savannah views is at concierge level. If I remember correctly from posts I've read on the Resorts board, if you stay concierge level at AKL you are not guaranteed a savannah view -- you could get a pool view room. (I hope someone will correct me on this if I am wrong here.) So I'm wondering if the same issue will carry over to AKV's concierge level?

I'm encouraged by the leaked info that has been posted so far, but will want to see confirmation from DVC on the villa sizes and that savannah view is guaranteed.
