So this is our third trip the first week of May (3 years in a row) and this is the least crowded it's been between all 3 trips. My guess on that is that people who might have booked May decided to wait until after TSL opened this year. I'm not sure why else May would be lower than typical crowds when the rest of the year so far has been busier.
Yesterday was Bad Guest Behavior Day at Epcot (like Dapper Days but opposite). We had our popcorn bucket stolen out of the bottom of our stroller (it was out of sight under jackets so someone pawed through our stroller). Obviously not a big deal - we only leave things we won't be heartbroken or seriously inconvenienced if they disappear - but still annoying.
We saw a dad and two teenagers go running past everyone in line for Soarin at RD "to meet up with their party." At the end of the night we had asked for row B1 on Soarin, another family did as well and we were granted the request. When they led us in, a man from row 2 in front of my daughter continued to row 1 instead. We knew because she was first in line for row 1. This meant that the family behind us didn't fit and were looking around, confused. My DH told the CM what happened. She came over and asked the man which row he was supposed to be in. He admitted it was 2. She told him to go to 2 and he stared her down. So she backed down and helped the other family find a different row to sit in. I wish they wouldn't back down that way It just means he'll do it again (and no it wasn't a language barrier issue). I wish they could kick people off rides for that behavior.
We also had a family behind us in line for Mulan use their kids to cut in front of us. They slowly kept creeping up until they were in front of my daughters and then the dad joined them in line and Mom got out of line behind us to go sit with them in front of us. The kids were like 5. Nice.
None of it was anything trip ruining of course, just annoying and an opportunity to talk to kids about proper behavior. I do wish Disney would have a no tolerance policy like Six Flags. I don't see line jumpers there because they will toss you out of the park for it.
We've had good luck getting same day FPs for rides other than the most popular ones (7DNT and FEA). I have not been able to "roll" as people define it here (go right from one FP to the next) unless the next is something like Under the Sea. I have had really good luck with alternating an FP ride and then a show/non-FP activity and then an FP ride though. And we tend to do a lot of character meets so it works. We got 5 extra FPs on Sun at MK, 3 at DHS, and 3 at Epcot (TT twice and Illum).
Weather has been great and CMs have been awesome and really friendly. Only 4 more park days left.
