Let's Play "The Next Poster"...Disneyland style! Part 2

Not yet, but I have plans to do this in retirement 😊

TNP has never been to the Toy Story parking lot
True. We drive or fly from Northern California, so we just go straight to the hotel on arrival day.

In spirit of today (Happy Thanksgiving!) -- TNP has spent a holiday in the parks.

Incidentally, I have been there for the actual day of Halloween and Thanksgiving. I am really wishing we decided to go for Thanksgiving this year! I'd be in Disneyland by now 😩

False if you mean the actual day. I've been multiple times during the Halloween season as we used to take our girls every year (pre OBB) to trick-or-treat and enjoy the festivities. I've gone every Christmas season for many years as well, but I've never been on Christmas or NY's day. I've been many times on my birthday, many times on DL's birthday, but never on an actual holiday DAY. I think it would be pretty cool, but it would mean not being with my family.

TNP used to look for all the hidden Mickeys they could find.

False-I like to be surprised when I see one in the wild-so I never hunted them out.

TNP has gone to the parks just for the Food and Wine Festival or the Disney Festival of Holidays.

False. Believe it or not, I don't really care about the food and I don't want to stand in the lines. I'm also not much of a wine drinker. It would be a waste for me to do it!

TNP has had an unusual/surprising thing happen at DLR.

True-the Saturday after Thanksgiving we were walked off of Incrediecoaster at night. I have been on multiple rides that have stopped and we were escorted off, but this was the first time at night. Fortunately, it happened right after the start up the first climb. We had the countdown, blast off, then 2 seconds later all quiet. we coasted a little way into the tunnel and then coasted backwards. We came back to the blast off area and waited about 10 minutes to be escorted off. All this right as WOC was starting. We did not hear if there were any other riders in more precarious areas.

I think our worst one was getting stuck on IASM right as you exit the postcards, in full sun, for like 20 minutes before the ride resumed.

TNP has never been escorted off of a ride. All green all the time.

False. However, in all of my years going to DLR (and it's a lot of years--one might say decades), it has only happened to me a few times. Most recently, we were in HM shortly before a dining reservation at Club 33 when the ride stopped. We were in the portrait hall and all the lights went out except for some emergency lighting. Kind of cool, really, but all we could think about was our reservation. We were packed in like sardines and kept hearing that the ride would resume momentarily or something like that. It was cool and uncomfortable at the same time. I don't mind being crammed in if we're moving, but I don't like the feeling of being stuck in the middle of a crowd that can't move. I took some pics and they finally escorted us out through a "secret" staircase. We made it to our dining reservation so overall it was a cool experience, and as it turned out, the power was off in all of NOS so Club 33 had had the same blackout.

TNP could be perfectly happy going to DLR and not riding any rides.

True-pre-covid when I had an annual pass, I would always book extra days on the back end of conferences just so I could go to the parks and take pictures. Just don't have as much free time to do that and there are way too many people now to set up a tripod and take pictures at night. But I would still be ok going for some shows and some eats.

TNP has never travelled the Rivers of America....

False. It's one of my favorite ways to relax when I'm tired. I love it! I've also met some very interesting people that way.

TNP would pay to do a VIP tour.

False... If this were something like 15 years ago? Then yes. Nowadays the VIP tours just don't seem to have the level of "VIP" they used to have a few years back...

TNP prefers to just "go with the flow" while in the parks rather than have a planned itinerary...

True. I usually have some vague plan on entry, but I'm not a super planner. I like to leave my options open and see how things look when I get there. I also like restaurant reservations so I tend to more or less work around that 8-)

TNP has had such a poor day at DL or DCA that they've just left the park.

True-Harking back to when I could spend more days in the parks, I would go in for a few hours in the evenings to take photos of the parks in the darks. One of the last times I was able to do this, fall of 2019, Halloween crowds, crazy packed. I just couldn't set up my tripod anywhere without fear of someone bumping into it. I know, first world problems. I just walked around, confused as what to do, and just left after being there for all of 20 minutes, frustrated and mad there were so many people in my park, ha silly me.

TNP-Has been the last person to ride an attraction for the evening.

True!!! I did this in November with my 6-year-old grandson. It was just the 2 of us, closing down the parks, and we went on almost all of the FL rides. We hurried over to do one last ride--and were lucky enough to be the last ones on Peter Pan! No one else was in front of us so we sang and giggled and had such a fun time!!

Sorry I hogged this post, but it was such a happy memory I just couldn't resist sharing! Here's a pic of us having a blast of FL near midnight 😂

TNP has had an "unpleasant encounter" of some sort at DLR.Screenshot_20240210_153859_Gallery.jpg

True. ...and I was not as impressed as so many others that are willing to race to the ride. We rode it EE once and I have felt it wasn't worth all that time.

The next poster also was not impressed with RSR.
True... But only due to the wait times. It was fun when it first opened as it was nothing like what Disneyland currently had, but its not a ride I would get a fast pass for now.

TNP likes riding Big Thunder Mountain at night more than during the day?

True... but is there anyone on earth for whom that would be false? :D

TNP has dined at 21 Royal.
False, but it's on my bucket list. A while back some folks on here were asking if anyone was interested in pooling together for 21 Royal...that would be so fun!

On that note, TNP has met up with a fellow DISboarder in the parks.

False-but I have seen several people from this and a few other forums in the parks multiple times. I am good with faces, bad with names. I have recognized people from trip reports or even avatars and have said hi, but never specifically met up with someone.

TNP has made it into the parks to celebrate the Lunar New Year.

True! We went last month and really enjoyed the festival. We especially liked the New Year Mulan Procession. It was fun seeing Mushu!

TNP isn't a fan of the After Hours events.
