She has always had a motor skill problem, very poor fine motor skills in writing and any use of her hands and then it showed itself as a reading problem in first grade...at the end of 3rd grade (with lots of extra tutoring and help with an OT for a year) she mastered the art of reading (and now is a reading freak) but the writing part just doesn't get better. We've had her tested for everything and she scores so well on the inteligence side of things that she doesn't get any extra time or help with writing (& specifically spelling) she spells at the level of a 2nd grader (or worse) all phonetically. We are waiting to meet with her teacher(s) in her new school, hopefully soon, as this is really making me crazy....okay deep breath. If only school could be verbal for her she'd do great

I am reading this now and wonder if Molly have dyparaxia??

As it sound same with my son Keith, he is 10 years old now and found out that he had dyparaxia with dylesria (write backward). He is not very good writing and terrible with writing, very poor. At first, I thought he was lazy which he was late development. My father in law was an interpreter and he went to lecture for someone else and he found out about dyparaxia which similiar to my son. We took him to see specialist doctor at hospital and finally they told us that Keith have it. I had to sign the consent form last two weeks ago. (they offer my son to have mri to scan his brian) but I don't want it as they said that keith is clever apart from clusmy and writing.
I was very upset but my son is having a good manner and well behaved boy.
He is having extra help at school now.

How old is Molly? I understand how you feeling as same with me.

Good morning all! :flower3:

I decided this morning to take the day off work. I called our office manager and asked her if since both my bosses are not coming in today, if she'd mind me just staying home. I couldn't handle the boredom of sitting there for 6 hours with nothing to do. She told me as long as nobody calls in or gets sick, I can have the day off. Everybody was due to start work 40 minutes ago and I didn't get a phone call yet, so I'm assuming everybody else showed up and I'm free for the day! YIPPEE!!!!
Enjoy your day!1
Noel prayers and pixie dust for you today and every day keep positive and get well!!!!:grouphug: :grouphug: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

I have read on the thread where others are already booking airline reservations....have you all done this yet? I though it was kinda early in the game for that, but maybe not. Whatcha think?

We booked already...about a month ago. I thought it was early too but I started seeing the airfare rise by about $5 here and there. So I booked our tickets and I was glad I did because the airfare then jumped up between $15 - $50/ticket depending on the airline!!!! However, some of the airlines don't have their airfare out yet (like Southwest, Jet Blue, etc.). We knew we'd be flying one of the majors (American)--their rates go out by a year.

Mmm, just been out and it is cold. Getting windy too. Quite nose running weather actually.

Wish I could say it's getting cold here! Our electricity bill last month was $350 (primarily because of the A/C and it was an unusually hot month). Our days are still hot-I'm ready for winter. I love wearing sweaters and layering! We're still wearing shorts and short sleeved tops!!!

Just a drive by for me this morning. We had a great time at Universal Studios yesterday with our nephew. Got home very late. And now I have 14 pages to catch up on. Hope everyones weekend was a good one. Will share pics from our day at Universal as soon as we can. Probably tonight. :hippie:

Yeahhhhhhh for Holly playing hookie today!!!!!! It feels good doesn't it!!!!!!! Enjoy your day!

I'm expecting the visiting nurse to be here in less than an hour....she's gonna rewrap the legs again. I'm getting tired of it. John just did it yesterday because the wraps were falling down. Now they're good and she's going to redo them anyway. I'm of the mindset that I just want to leave them alone and let them heal. That's not going to happen. Wed back to the doctor again, but the good one this time. I'm getting so tired of it all. I just want them well already.

Minus six weeks and counting down until we're on Mickey's ship and doing the MNSSHP after. I'm so excited and ready to go. We usually do Mickey's ship every Sept so I would be gone right now, but this year we're taking all the family, so we're doing Halloween instead. It just means I have to wait a little longer. But I'm getting really really excited now coz it's coming up soon!:flower3: :cheer2: :flower3:

Hi Venetia, I want to hear all about Universal coz me and John want to do that when we get to LA....looking forward to pics and stories.:rotfl: ;) :rotfl:

Oregon Ducks 52
Fresno State Bulldogs 21

Moved up to #13 in both polls! Not as high as Florida (#3), but we will take it!

Florida looked really good against Tenn!

Glad Ohio State crushed Washington. We don't care for those stinkin' Huskies! They are biggest rival and nothing better than to see them lose.

Just wasting time while they install the new A/C unit. They have been up in the attic working on the air handler for awhile. Terrified of going up in the attic! Thoughts of a thousand scorpions flash through my mind. Don't like scorpions! We have yet to see a rattler here. Have gecko's and tons of lizards running around the yard. Rabbits and quails too. Sorry - found a young bunny in the pool last week. Scorpions just, I don't know, they scare me!

Oh Deb. I can't imagine what it is like, and you seem to have been suffering with your legs for a long time now. Keep on keeping positive.

It will be good to see the Dr. though.

Well, we were supposed to have the outside of our house painted this week...woke up today to rain and 50's :sad2: I am ready for a few more short and t's days though, not quite ready for the wood stove to start burning all the time. :sad2: I just hope winter can hold off long enough for the house to get painted!
