We have changed our flight days for a flight that works better for us and now plan to spend our first night at a airport hotel as we will be getting in quite late. I would greatly appreciate suggestions for an airport hotel that has:
Free shuttle to and from airport
A nicer breakfast option (cooked or buffet)
    Queen beds
    Nice modern updated rooms
Allows cancellations at no charge the day of arrival (as who knows what could happen with flight changes/delays)

    Thanks so much!

The Embassy Suites is nice and has the free evening reception and the cook to order breakfast in the morning.

It's getting hard though to find hotel changes that don't charge for day of arrival cancellations and the Embassy since it's a Hilton doesn't allow it.

FYI: Although they may not officially allow same-day cancelations, the vast majority of hotels are flexible when it comes to something out-of-control of the guest. I'd say that's especially true for hotels located at airports.

If your flight gets cancel and you can't reach your hotel on the check-in date, call them. By "them" I mean the actual hotel, not the Central Reservations Office of the chain. Ask to speak to the Front Desk or "on-site" Reservations Office. Explain your situation and ask for help. Have your flight number handy because some hotel's will check the airline website to verify that the flight was canceled. Chances are strong that the hotel will be helpful.

PS. I used to work in hotels. I'd strongly recommend that if the hotel "breaks" a rule to help you, take a couple of minutes to return the favor. Go onto the chain website and send the hotel "thank you" message using the web form (usually found on the Contact page). The positive note will get recorded by the chain and them sent to the hotel. Since most guests only contact the hotel to complain, those positive messages mean a lot.

Thank you for the suggestion - we are Hilton honors member - and our flight arrives at 10:30 PM - nice if we could go t bed by midnight - wake up at 9 am - have breakfast - then go to our WDW resort hotel the day after we arrive

If you use Embassy you can take their shuttle back to MCO and then use Magical Express to get to WDW if you're not getting a car. Just find some flights that will arrive around the time you'd plan to be at MCO and tell Disney that's the flights you're coming in on.

No need to lie. You can just say you're arriving late and staying at an airport hotel. It's not an unusual situation and certainly not against any Disney rules.

Marriott Lakeside, but the cancellation policy may be a show stopper. The hotel is very comfortable.

I've read several reviews about very thin walls at the Embassy Suites at the Airport and noise from neighbors and a lobby fountain. Anyone else experience issues with noise here? We're getting into Orlando late at night and looking to stay at the airport (or a nearby inexpensive 1br suite hotel) before heading out for a Target run, a full first day at the parks, and checking in at BCV. Happy we're saving a lot on airfare by coming in the night before, but don't want a terrible night to start our trip.

If not Embassy by Hilton - then where to stay the first night?

We stay at the Hyatt. Can't beat grabbing your bags and taking the elevator up to the hotel. We get a good nights sleep, eat a nice breakfast then head to WDW rested and ready for the day.

Another vote for Hyatt MCO here. So convenient!
