MCO to Trattoria al Forno for Breakfast?

I'm not sure if this schedule is realistic - please let me know if you think I'm setting myself up for a missed reservation (and the $10 charge per person for it):

Delta flight is scheduled to land at MCO at 9:50am on a Tuesday. We will have a bag to collect at the baggage carousel, pick up a rental stroller, and then Uber to BCV. Is there enough time to arrive for an 11:15am reservation at Trattoria al Forno (it is the last seating for breakfast and they are not open for lunch)? Thank you for any insight!

Okay, MCO to the Boardwalk is 30 to 45 minutes. Luggage pickup and rental stroller guesstimating 30 minutes if two adults split up. Assuming your plane arrives on time and no further time issues you can make it by the skin of your teeth, LOL.

Anyway to push the reservation up or does that conflict with the breakfast service time?
Were it me I wouldn’t put that much stress on the family at the start of a trip but I’m sure you’ve been planning this for a bit.
GL and have fun.

We had to wait over an hour and half for our luggage once at MCO because they do not deplane luggage during thunderstorms. We had to cancel a reservation because of it. Luckily it was through open table and we didn't have a penalty. I'm super careful now to give PLENTY of space for reservations, esp those with penalties.

That seems too close especially with the traffic on I 4 in between Orlando and Disney World. Where are you staying at ? Is it in Crescent lake are or do you have to take your stuff to restaurant? I don’t think it’s a super hard ADR to get at a different time on another day especially since it’s not character dining.

It's a risk to schedule an ADR for dinner on arrival day; breakfast is a step too far for me.
We once had dinner reservations at 6:30 or 7pm, with a flight scheduled to arrive before noon. We ended up getting to our resort (Bay Lake Tower) at 2am the next day.

If everything worked out perfectly--if your flight was on time and you were able to deplane quickly, if you got your bags relatively quickly, if you got the car relatively quickly, and if there were little to no traffic, and if you didn't get lost--then perhaps this could work out.

In other words, no. Too many variables. If you were 10 minutes' drive away and you pulled this up on your phone and could get a reservation, then fine. But planning to do this? Unrealistic.

Thank you, everyone! I suspected the timeline was too tight, so thanks for confirming. I think what I will do instead is check for an available reservation once we are actually in the Uber and on our way to BCV (the resort we are staying at). Seems like Trattoria has a lot of last minute reservations for breakfast now that there are no characters.

We’ve sat on the tarmac at MCO for 45 min waiting for our gate to clear out from another plane. I think you are tempting fate with that reservation. Too many variables from traffic, mix up with the stroller, missing bags, etc, not to mention we typically wait 10 minutes for rideshare these days at MCO.

Oooh, interesting point -- when an airline says that a plane lands at a certain time, does that refer to when the plane touches the ground, or when people are allowed to get off the plane?

Short story, I agree with others that this is too tight. Just wanted to share a recent Tuesday morning arrival timeline from MCO last Feb:

Landed at 8:33 AM

On moving bus (Mears) at 8:55 AM and headed to terminal C to pick up jet blue passengers. 5 so far. Picked up 2 more and on our way by 9:03 AM

9:26 under sign

9:35 off bus at Boardwalk and in check in line

10:06 tapped in to EPCOT.

The caveat is that I had no delay at gate, deplaned from row 1 (free upgrade!), no checked luggage, or stroller to pick up, boarded the Mears bus right away, no traffic, and was first drop off for Mears (I know you’ll use Uber, but drive time is similar). What actually took the longest was waiting at the Boardwalk check-in, then leaving my bag at Bell Services. MCO luggage retrieval can take awhile. I’ve had a mixed experience. There are so many variables when arriving by plane that are out of your control.

Airline departure and arrival times are quoted from when they leave the gate at their origin airport and arrive at the gate in their destination.

I agree with your math. Early flights tend to be on time or early. Thunderstorms tend to occur in the afternoon.

I think the odds of making it is over 50%, maybe 60%. I wouldn't book it.but I respect the dedication of guests willing to try.

Glad you changed your plans. We were at least 40 mins from landing to luggage with DL at MCO a couple weeks ago with no weather. They had trouble with the luggage carrousel. So, while DL has the 20 min bag guarantee working in your favor it doesn’t guarantee the carrousel itself will be working 🤦🏻‍♀️ (a not uncommon occurrence according to our driver).
