"Official" 2015 MNSSHP thread

Going to the very last party. Heard it's gonna be crazy af. But then again, the person who said it was "wall to wall" said that Space Mountain wait times were 5 minutes. Sounds like a wonderfuly halloween themed extra magic hour. :dogdance:

- What is Mickey's Halloween costume? I have a FP, but I don't know if I should wait in a party line for a costumed picture. How long is his wait?

- What magic shots are available and where? I went ahead and bought the regular memory maker, so I want a lot of pictures!

I am so sorry to read this . Just a few posts up you were so happy. I hope the night ends on a positive note for you.
Yeah...I'm pretty much completely heartbroken. They closed all the character lines at 11:15 so not much opportunity left...I'm one of those annoyingly optimistic and happy people, especially at Disney. I didn't think it was possible for me to be unhappy here... :(

Space Mountain's line was back to Buzz tonight. 65 minute last time we walked by (but that was right when it was starting to rain again - people were maybe just trying to take cover.)

Where can I find ideas on something simple to wear to the party? We are mom dad and DD 16. She wants us to be themed. Not full costumes but something themed. She has this cute light blue Cinderella shirt with butterflies on it from kohls she wants to wear with a new tiara from downtown Disney with sparkly vans. But we have no idea how me and hubby can match that theme.
All ideas welcome.

Mickey's costume - it is talking Mickey. We were being mind readers. :) His line was only about 10 minutes right before the 2nd parade.

We couldn't find any magic shots tonight, not even the hitchhiking ghosts for some reason. Maybe the rain earlier? No idea - we definitely could have tried harder to find them.

Good thing we still have a whole bag of candy from last year at home - we only got a few handfuls tonight. Ah well - it definitely wasn't our priority.

Watched the second parade in Liberty square and followed the end to the hub for a decent spot for the last hocus pocus show. Was able to meet lotso and ride space mountain after hallowishes. Seems like a large crowd for the last show. I'm shoulder to shoulder right now. Having a great night though!

We just got back from Disney and went to the party on 9/22 which was a sell out and I have to say it was absolute chaos.
Cast members were enforcing bands pretty strictly (we saw a bunch of people get escorted out multiple times), but the amount of people in the park was still overwhelming.
We spent a total of 3 days in the MK and we felt the crowds were by far worse at MNSSHP vs the other days we were there. I'm not sure if the crowds were just more concentrated at the party (Main Street was like something out of a claustrophobic person's worst nightmare) or what but i can tell you it was literally elbow to elbow packed in like sardines crowded.
We got to the park around 630, got some pictures near the entrance, met talking Mickey and tinker bell (we had fast passes) and around 7 headed to haunted mansion where we waited about 25 minutes to ride. We then rode dumbo (walked on) and After that we went to get our Dessert Party lanyards (more on that later) and attempted to head down to Main Street to get to our "VIP" Section for the boo to you parade. It literally took 35 minutes to get from Dumbo to town square. People were just grid locked and not moving- not because they weren't trying but because there was just no where to move to.
By the time we got to our VIP section (which was the circle around the flagpole in Town a Square) it was 8:35 and the parade was about to start. We waited about 20 minutes for the first float to get to us and by the time the parade ended it was somewhere around 9:15 and we were escorted by cast members to Tomorrowland Terrace for the dessert party. I was thankful we had them as they cleared the way and we got to the restaurant quickly.
We had some pretty tasty desserts and had a fantastic view of the 10pm Fireworks.
We ventured back out around 1030 in hopes of riding some rides or meeting some characters but the lines at that point were absurdly long: 45 minutes for space mountain, 35 for Peter Pan, 90 for 7DMT. Most character lines were also super long and were being cut off.
We gave up at 1115 and headed back to the resort.
I think the dessert party saved the night from being a total failure for us. My almost 3 year old really liked the parade and was mesmerized by the fireworks but there's no way we would have had a good view of either without the dessert party upgrade. So while it was a fun night, it was not $300 fun which is what we paid between the dessert party upgrade and tickets for the event.

For those that said they got a fast pass for mickey, I am assuming that is the Town Hall one? If so, what time does he start appearing in the Halloween costume? just trying to see if I can adjust my FP+ for the party days. Is it the same deal for the Christmas party?

All the TOT stops we passed from 7-8pm (aka when it was pouring rain!) were either closed, or they had moved them somewhere and I couldn't find them. When we were waiting for Captain Jack, I sent DH to see what he could find, and he came back with a couple of handfuls. I think we ended up with about 1/4 of a bag of candy, and we'd eaten most of it by the time we got home! They did hand out Dove chocolates as we left and when they saw how wet we were, they gave us extra, that was pretty nice.

When you got to the flag pole area at 8:35, were you still able to get a good spot to see the parade?

Still a ton of negative reviews. I am still worried. I think the rain definitely was the number one downfall last night. The only positive reviews I have seen so far were people who rode rides most of the night. I guess I could change my plan to do that, but I don't have to pay the extra admission to do that on a different night.

Has anyone else noticed the last show not being the regular show, but a shorter version of it? I was originally going to do the last show, but maybe I will change that. Again though, did they cut it short because they heard there was more rain on the way?

I would assume that was why it was cut short. As we were driving home around 10.15pm, it started to rain again, and rained on and off for the rest of the night. I would guess the same thing was happening at Disney, and I'm sure that show isn't safe for the actors once it starts raining and the stage gets wet.

I wouldn't be put off by last nights reviews. The rain really put a damper on everything, but I saw lots of people having a great time. I hope Disney realize from last night that they need to communicate better with the guests in the rain, and make sure people know where the characters are being moved to, if anywhere. I think they could have made more of an effort to move more of the characters inside or under cover too. But last night was the first party that had a lot of rain, so maybe they have to learn from that and things will improve going forward.

Are you sure it was Smitty? Smitty's not very interactive. In this photo, from left to right, is Smitty (green), Needleman (tall/skinny), and George (orange).

Where and how did u get this photo?

What was the deal with the last show? It was way shorter than the earlier one.
So the stage was still wet from rain so it took them extra time to clean off the stage. The other shows they did earlier were the full show. It was not a normal thing ;just due to weather.
