I kind of find this odd honestly. Crowds seem to have leveled out to what used to be normal from what I understand. TP hasn't been great with their accuracy as of late and I wonder if its a way to cover that.

I'm basing it on a busy summer and the Touring Plans Crowd Calendar Lsdolphin posted. I got the same notice today for my September dates

Crowd levels have been 1's and 2's with 3's and 4's on the weekends. To predict a 4 rather and a 1 seems to me that it's going to be busy this September.

People who haven't gone to The World in a few years have been returning and with the uncertainty of the overall financial health of the coming year I'm guessing a lot of people will go for one, last time in quite a while.

Ok, but no joke, I'm hoping one forms right now. It doesn't have to be big or hit anywhere, but the next one out is going to be named Danielle. And can we just talk about my anxiety that we have a super quiet August, but the next named storm hits central Florida in early September and has MY NAME. I will NEVER live that down if it messes with my trip.

I have a friend who lives in Orlando and she's very used to hurricane season down there and she's telling me all the time that there's no way it will take that long for a storm to come around.

And my answer to her was "Look, statistics agree with you, but my luck on the other hand does not."

Forecasters are saying that hurricanes will be ramping up now after a quiet period. Still expecting to have about a dozen named storms this year. We shall see... we've been there right before one hit one September and were on one of the last flights out before MCO closed. Kind of exciting - ha!

We went in 2004 (which, go figure, was the same name list as this year) in August. We actually flew OVER Alex, or the remnants of, in the Atlantic. We were flying really high and it was still pretty bumpy. Everything was fine while we were there, but then things went nuts after we got home. That was the year Charley went right over central Florida. The funny thing is, I'm very into hurricanes and meteorology. I just don't enjoy when they can mess with my travel. I honestly am more concerned about losing time if I can't get down there. I wouldn't be thrilled missing time while I am down there, but I know I'd be safe on property and I really don't care if it took extra time to get home, I'll get there eventually. I just want to not have a cancelled flight going down.

Be prepared for crowds! Food and Wine is a huge draw as is other Halloween events in other parks. (looking at you, HHN!)

Today, we are 30 days from checking in!! If anyone else needs to pre register for the DAS ( disability pass) I went through the process this morning with minimal hiccups. I’m happy to have that behind us! Trip is paid in full, ADRs are set, waiting on my Magicband+ to ship, I guess all that’s left is packing!
In catching up, I saw people mention the magic band + not shipping yet. There have been some connectivity issues reported with the 50th Anniversary bands so those might be delayed. That’s the one I ordered and I have not gotten a shipping notification yet.

I got approved this morning for DAS and made a few selections. We had some hiccups with my DD & SIL’s park reservations. They had more than one account so they merged them into one account but it apparently wiped out their existing park reservations. We had to end the chat and now the chat wait times are saying higher wait times. I’m hoping to complete the booking process by tomorrow but at least this much is behind us now.

Disney hasn't figured out how to get folks in the parks in September, like, ever. Even opening SWGE didn't do it. January is probably just as bad as September for school schedules, but the weather is pleasant. September, you have to be ok with pulling your kids *and* surface of the sun temps. It's just a non starter for most people. Plus, January has MLK, a run weekend, and a bunch of northerners who just need to get the heck out of the winter. The itch to head to Florida is much stronger when the air feels like it's out to get you, personally

That said, with the park reservation schedule, Disney can be much more sure that the crowds will be low enough that they can reduce staff and reduce capacity on rides where that's an option (running one side of Space, fewer speedway vehicles, etc). So, crowds that should be 1-2 will feel like 4-6 because many rides are running through fewer people, fewer QS staff are working, etc.

I still think September is the best bet for low crowds, but gone are the days of 2019 when Disney expanded hours and capacity for presumed SWGE crowds that didn't materialize. But, gosh darn it, that EEMH in MK was freaking magical for those of us lucky enough to be there!!

Don't worry. My father is Karl and I'm Lisa, so the expectation in my family is that we will have a super active year and one of those two will hit while I'm there in early September.

Welcome in to the September 2022 Group @megveg !!!! We are so glad you joined us as we all countdown these last few weeks. I can't believe it is finally this close!! I love that Magic is Calling song for the 50th Anniversary and can't wait to hear it in the MK parade.
