Parks Game: Part 11! "Still Playing After All These Years..."

Here's my best guess:

1. Mission to Mars
2. If You Had Wings
3. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
4. Living Seas
5. Horizons
6. Beauth & the Beast Live on Stage
7. Ariel's Grotto
8. Kali River Rapids
9. Magic Carpet of Aladdin

ADaddy...great to see you hanging around the Chalk Circle again for a while!

You got two of them correct. The problem with this is that if one is out of whack, it can set all the other ones back.

To make this a little less wearisome, I'm going to start filling in where people have the correct placements.

Correct answers so far:

1. If You Had Wings - 1972 (minnie)
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.
7.
8. Kali River Rapids - 1999 (ADaddy)
9. Magic Carpets of Aladdin - 2001 (ADaddy)

MCMom....you snuck in there with a couple more while I was updating!

So now, correct answers look like this:

1. If You Had Wings - 1972 (minnie)
2.
3. Big Thunder Mountain RR - 1980 (MCMom)
4.
5.
6.Beauty & Beast on Stage - 1991 (MCMom)
7. Ariel's Grotto - 1996 (MCMom)
8. Kali River Rapids - 1999 (ADaddy)
9. Magic Carpets of Aladdin - 2001 (ADaddy)

Shouldn't be too hard to plug in the last three!

1. If You Had Wings - 1972 (minnie)
2. Mission to Mars
3. Big Thunder Mountain RR - 1980 (MCMom)
4. Horizons 1983
5. Living Seas 1986
6.Beauty & Beast on Stage - 1991 (MCMom)
7. Ariel's Grotto - 1996 (MCMom)
8. Kali River Rapids - 1999 (ADaddy)
9. Magic Carpets of Aladdin - 2001 (ADaddy)

I cant believe I mixed up Horizons and Seas since I worked in both places!! LOL

MCMom

MCMom...don't worry.....you are reaching back 20 years into the memory bank! And thanks for cleaning up that question. Final answers are:

1. If You Had Wings - 1972 (minnie)
2. Mission to Mars - 1975 (MCMom)
3. Big Thunder Mountain RR - 1980 (MCMom)
4. Horizons - 1983 (MCMom)
5. Living Seas - 1986 (MCMom)
6.Beauty & Beast on Stage - 1991 (MCMom)
7. Ariel's Grotto - 1996 (MCMom)
8. Kali River Rapids - 1999 (ADaddy)
9. Magic Carpets of Aladdin - 2001 (ADaddy)

A "journey through time" AAQ card to minnie, MCMom and ADaddy!
:)

Reaching back 20 years??? Thanks, Granny. That made me feel nice and old. LOL

While my memory is on the Living Seas, I'll go ahead and cash in that AAQ.

When The Living Seas opened there were 4 nurse sharks in the tank named after famous musicians. What were their names?

:)
MCMom

GREAT job, Granny. You nailed that one! (Have I posted that one before??)

British Invasion shaped AAQ to you!

You're up!

MCMom

WOW! That was a pure guess! I don't recall you posting it before, but at my age, memory can be a bit of an issue!

And to keep things moving...

In what attraction will you hear this phrase from a CM?..."Now that you've selected a place to sit, please remain fully seated, and don't attempt to switch rows, seats, or vehicles from this point forward."

Carpe....nice to see you around these parts! And yes, it is on Ellen's Energy Adventure where they tell you to stay put! :p

A "sit down and enjoy" AAQ card to you!

Since I haven't been following too closely, I'd probably just end up asking a question from 3 screens ago. Therefore, I'm going to toss my AAQ to the next passerby...

I'll redeem my AAQ with an easy one to keep us going:

Which rides/attractions feature Television sets?

Good luck to all!

:earsboy:

ADaddy....another good question! I'm assuming you don't mean monitors in pre-show areas! :p

I'll guess that we find television sets in

Carousel of Progress
Space Ship Earth
Tower of Terror (in the library)
Ellen's Energy Adventure

I'm sure there are others, but those are the ones that jumped out at me!

My guess is that there are some in Mickey and Minnie's houses in Toon Town, but I've never stepped foot in Toon Town, so I'm not sure!

Oh....and how about One Man's Dream? I'm sure there's one in the movie they show.

Did you mean TV sets used as TV sets are any type of monitor like that?

Living Seas (in Seabase Alpha)
ImageWorks (at JIYI)
Space Mountain

There has to be more....

LOL Okay Granny, I had ALL the answers right on the list question, just I used a different list  You might have noticed that it was dark thirty when I answered the question. I don't read too well before my coffee and rolls, and MBabe hadn't shown up with them yet. Any hoo, thanks for a great question.

Well, it's obvious from your comments that you think it opened in 1976. But, according to every source I have, Dave Smith being one of them, it opened on July 1, 1975! I prefer not to depend on memory when it comes to dates.

Sorry I didn't make it back to clear this up. It was a really busy day today.
The source I used to verify this is "Walt Disney World: The First Decade", a book issued by Walt Disney Productions in 1982 and sold in the themeparks and resorts (I bought mine at the Poly gift shop). On page 76, it states: "The inaugural run of the "WEDway PeopleMover" occurred in 1976. Unique among "people movers", the WEDway operates by a process known as linear induction...."

As for amandadaddy's question, I'll add:
Horizons!!
Cranium Command (preshow and main show)
Body Wars (you look out of the ship using a TV/monitor)

On page 72 of "Since the World Began–Walt Disney World, The First 25 Years" it states "The new WEDWay PeopleMover–an updated version of the PeopleMover (installed at DL in 1967)–opened at the Magic Kingdom on July 1, 1975.
On page 601 of "Disney A to Z: The Updated Official Encyclopedia" by Dave Smith, it states "WEDway PeopleMover: Tomorrowland attraction in the Magic Kingdom at WDW; opened July 1, 1975."
I have several other books, like "Disney, The First 100 Years," that state the WEDway PeopleMover opened in 1975.
