point rental w/reservations

I am not a DVC member, and I've already made reservations at OKW for 12/9-12/14.

My question is: Can I rent points for these dates without cancelling my reservation? Or do I have to cancel my current reservation, and go through a DVC member? My worry is that if I have to cancel my current reservation, I won't be able to get a new reservation, and I've already booked airline tix.

So you have a regular reservation through CRO? Those reservations cannot be converted to DVC points, they come from separate inventories. There is an inventory of member points rooms and an inventory of developer points (owned by DVC itself) which they rent through CRO. I would contact a member and have them secure a reservation for you and only then cancel your CRO reservation.
