I agree that DVC points provide more fun for your money than a typical Country Club. However, $12K/year would be a steal for CC membership in my area - they’re more like $25K 🤪🤣(& NO - I do not hold a CC membership)!
In our area the monthly dues are all around the same if you are age 40+, but the buy in is vastly different.
 
could you get the "concierge" at DVCRM to see if they can hurry things up on the M V T side?
I've tried. Repeatedly. I've asked for updates and to switch processors.

The "concierge" powers seem limited to replying with the copy & paste response of "you will receive your closing docs within 14 business days."

To his credit, Andy Berry (DVCRM) reached out today a bit before 5pm to make sure we had received our docs as we had been promised last week. Spoiler: we did not receive anything.
 


Closed today, took exactly 3 weeks from when it was sent off to ROFR, woohoo! Now we'll see how long it takes Disney to add my new membership and then load the points! From the closing time thread it looks like things are moving along pretty fast on their end.

Horrible passive decision on my part. I knew better and thought "but how bad could https://magicvacationtitle.com/ be." Turns out they can be incredibly bad. I will have to overpay for this low level of service. Pains me greatly.

Echoing JG above: Buyers, you get to pick your settlement company. If you insist on overpaying like I will, just get anyone else and then donate the extra several hundred dollars instead.

TBH I forgot to write down the asking price and I've offered on so so so so many. It's a hobby aka addiction (a very expensive one!). This one had been listed since November on Fidelity. I had just lost out on a different SSR contract that had full 2022 and 2023 points and the agent asked me if I wanted to try for this one. So I offered $70, sellers countered $75, I said I'd only buy for $70 and totally understood if they didn't want to come down. They accepted the $70.

I know it has been mentioned many, many times before but Cammy at DVC Title & Escrow is great! https://www.dvcclosings.com/ We are closing a contract that I am the seller on Wednesday and she is always responsive in my experience.
