San Angel Inn Dinner
Monday, August, 14, 2006
We had a 6 p.m. Dinner Reservation for San Angel Inn. We check in and are given a pager. We take that time to browse while waiting. About 10 minutes later our pager goes off. We head back to the podium and are escorted to our seats. We are seated in the middle of the restaurant with a nice view of the water. Our host gives us our menus. We look them over and realize they are lunch menus. So we mentioned this to our host. She looks at them and then says Im sorry and brings the dinner menu on out to us. We look over the menu and shortly after our waiter comes over. We let him know we are on the dinning plan. He then explains that the adults get an appetizer, entrée and dessert and the kids get entrée and dessert. He takes our order. DH gets the nachos for an appetizer, and he orders the Puntas De Filete for an entrée. I ordered the Sope Tradicional for an appetizer and the Plato Mexicano for my entrée. DD ordered chicken strips with rice and beans and DS ordered the Burrito with rice and beans. Our appetizers came out very quickly. DH and I both enjoyed them very much. While we are eating our appetizers the kids had the nachos that everyone gets. While only half way done with our appetizers our entrées come out. (We got our entrées while eating our appetizers all week long) I guess they are trying to get people in and out due to the free dinning. We push our appetizers to the side so we can start eating the entrees. DH loved his beef and I also loved my meal. The beef was very tender. DS enjoyed his burrito after he figured out how to eat it. He had to use a fork and knife. He did not like the rice and beans and only ate half the burrito since he wanted to save room for dessert he said. DD only ate a few pieces of chicken and did not touch the rice or beans either. (to weird looking for them I guess)
It is now time to order desserts. The waiter gives us our choices. The choices are ice cream or ice cream for the kids. For the adults the choices are flan, rice pudding, and some other type of pudding. The kids choose the ice cream. I chose the flan and DH just asked if he could have ice cream as well. (I should have followed suit) Our desserts arrive shortly after. The ice cream was yummy. I dont know why I picked flan. I thought liked it. I guess I dont.
We used 4 TS credits on the meal. I dont know what the total came out to since we got a zeroed out receipt. I added everything up from online menus and the total without tax and tip $91.22. So we will say about $120.00 with tax and tip.
Our overall thoughts of San Angel Inn:
We thoroughly enjoyed this meal. We love the atmosphere. This was our 2nd time at San Angel Inn. We will defiantly return.
Here are the nachos with salsa that come to everyone's table
DH's Nachos - border creation of tortilla chips topped with red sauce, melted cheese, chorizo, jalapenos, tomatoes and sour cream $8.25
This my Sope Tradicional - grilled soft corn shell filled with chicken and refried beans, covered with fresh green tomato sauce, fresh cheese and onions, served over a bed of lettuce $7.25
Plato Mexicano - Beef Tenderloin Tampiquena, chicken enchilada, and beef flauta, served with sour cream, black refried beans and Mexican rice $20.99
DD's chicken
DS's burritto the one you need a fork and knife for!
DH's Puntas De Filete - Beef tenderloin tips sauteed with onions and chile poblano strips covered with roasted chile pasilla sauce, served with black refried beans and rice $24.50
Sorry I forgot to take pics of the desserts.
