Can't ketchup. Not many guys over 500 on the list?:rolleyes1

I start a diet challenge today. Four guys, $100 each, average weight- morbidly obese, 3 months, highest per centage lost (we're all engineers so a little anal) takes all. Weigh in is at 7:15 this morning. I ate all my favorites this weekend including mass quanities of sh*t on a shingle and chocalate ice cream. I plan on drinking a couple gallons of water before the weigh in. After the weigh in I mustard.

ok, when you win fletcher, what cha' gonna get us with the win........:rolleyes1

put lots of quarters in your pockets when you weigh in.
it will help

Good Morning. Another work week.

Mac - I'm not off to anywhere this week. This week is drive to the client's office. We will be leaving about 7:30am from office and getting back about 7:30pm. But, I will be home every night.:cool1: And, as for the Super 8 breakfast spread - you were kidding right. :rotfl2:
Well - need to get moving.

-Jennifer

yea, i'm kidding, i'm a big kidder.........
;)

I heard that spooning can lead to forking?

I know for a fact that it does! ;)

you should teach kfish's class today....

Katie, I agree with Marcie. When I first started looking at houses, I was buying on my own (I had not met Mike yet and was with a financial juvenile who wound up sucking me dry, but that is a story for another time ... :rolleyes1 ). Anyway, $120K was my limit. And I managed to find a house that I really liked and figured as I got the money, I'd fix some things up. Which I have done. Except that I could've had a much larger house for $145K, which seemed (like Marcie said) a FORTUNE. Well, duh, had I known that 7 years later, I'd be one half a happy dink and that extra $150 a month in mortgage payments would not have killed me, I'd certainly have made a different decision. Instead, I wound up converting my 30-year to a 15-year and doing some work on the house. At least I'll own my house free and clear at age 45; only 9 more years to go!

well, when i bought a house my maximum was 60K.........:rolleyes1

OK, and maybe this is just me not being a parent to anything with 2 legs, but since when did it become the school's responsibility to teach students everything they need to know about contraception and diseases, etc?! I am shocked, really. Do parents have no accountability whatsoever for their children's sex ed and really rely on the school 100% for that? What a cop out. Sex Ed in school should complement a child's sex ed at home. Not replace it. The parents of the children who didn't know anything should really be ashamed of themselves.

i let my sons learn from the gutter.......much easier..........jk

I have never been TPing ever. I think deep down, I am a goody-2-shoes!

homies, we have found our TP virgin!
we need to take her out for some wild fun.
think we will start with one ply first.

I am just waiting for the dentist to open. :headache: Ugg, hate trying to set up another appt. Have to try to change an appt for Miss Savannah too. Mike and I opted to switch tours this week, and though her appt would've worked for my evening tour, it doesn't work for my night tour. And, Mike is such a creature of habit, any disruption to his schedule just messes up his whole day. He'll take her if I can't change the appt, but I have to try first. That's about the only thing that drives me crazy about him. Don't muck up his schedule or THE WORLD ENDS!

i'm guessing that we are talking about AM Mike here.
if it was PM Mike, you'd be fine.

Anyway, hi everyone! Happy Monday!

yes, and around 5:00 today, only 4 more work days to the week.

good morning sunshines! except for marci - a very cold 4 in her town:scared1: ; guess i can be-auch about it being 30 there all this week.

tricia - not sure if you're in a PPO/HMO and whether you can switch providers @ will? Hope it works out for you. Youngest DS had a misdiagnosed Fx from football; treated by ER/ortho who cleared him. Six months later still complaining; took him back to ped; sent him out to another ortho & more invasive testing @ local ER; still nothing. Ped decided to send him to one of the few pediatric orthos in our area & children's hospital of pittsburgh. He had developed fielberg's disease (bone death; involving his growth plate in foot). If it had been undiagnosed he'd have one foot smaller. 1st set of doctors said they missed it because he should've been complaining of "excrutiating" pain:headache: Two years down the road; things look great though. Just a pain, had to reset/new cast for 6 months, etc. Guess what i'm trying to say, is be an advocate & always get a 2nd opinion.:thumbsup2

as to TPing; we've been victims (lol) not perps. If i had pulled that stunt while a child; and if caught by my dad; wouldn't have been able to sit down for a week.;)

how is your son now janet? has he healed up completely now or are you still in the process of treatment?

another TP virgin...........
i need to start a class up on TP-ing 101

Mac Dw is doing fine and wants to thank you for all the prayers and the others that prayed for her and the swelling is almost gone just one little spot being stuborn but hopefully gone soon.

i'm glad to hear that.
i haven't forgotten what you and the family have gone through.
losing a loved one is tough.
tell dw she is one of the homies here and we hope she is doing well now.

hope that one stubborn spot disappears soon st. lawrence!

Macraven, thank you SO much for all the links you gave me to help me with the planning of my first Universal Trip. I've just started looking over everything and am excited at all the reading I'll be able to do now about all of this and will get some more answes to the many questions I have. Your help is greatly appreciated :)

donna, you are so welcome!
after you read thru and go to the interactive map, i'm sure you will have more questions.
let us know when you do.
there is always someone here that can help.

i have been doing disney and universal faithfully since 1992.
before that i had been to disney in the 70's a few times. they only had the magic kingdom back in those days. my parents didn't like the place so i had to wait to go back years later without them.

i always tell people to go to the line for the park entrance around 8:15.
if there are many there, UO will open the park around 8:30 and not the official time of 9:00.
not everything will be open at 8:30 but the coasters are.

i have other links also to give you but thought the first set would keep you busy for a while.

Hey there homies!

Happy Monday (ha ha ha)

Hoping everyone is feeling better today and that those with snow are making out ok. We were supposed to get a coating and mostly rain.....we hardly got rain :woohoo: Yay Giants (shh, don't tell the Eagles fans around here - oh wait - that would be me and Barb :rotfl: ) I am happy they beat Dallas! I really wanted the Colts to win, they are the ones that could knock off the Pats, but SD looked really good  so who knows :confused3
And of course I wanted the Packers to win (for Marcie) The local sports talk radio here is making fun of the TO crying during the press conference  That yahoo is another rant for another day........as an athlete he is first class #1 but as an individual he is about 4 cards short of a full deck :rolleyes1 :3dglasses

me, daddybean and kbean all have the winter cold - blech

cbean got a furry friend this weekend.....she/he is cute and is making a mess of her/his bedding in the cage - but so so so sweet:lovestruc

Got to get the buddybean ready for skool - be back later!!

are those kids at skool yet.........where are you miss bean???? thought you were coming back to play.

thanks for the update on the beans.
and what is the name of the furry bean?
i assume it is not a cat as cats do not live in cages....

Thanks Jodie and Mac! I had the weigh in wearing big old heavy motorcycle boots with my pockets, bowels and bladder full. I was 9 pounds heavier than last Friday! When I win I think we should all go out to eat.

We own our business and carry our own insurance, so as long as the doctor accepts our insurance (Blue Cross Blue Shield) then we are fine. We have a pp deductible and then 80-20 split, plus a maximum out of pocket per calendar year. We've managed to hit our out of pocket maximum more years than not.

There will be many opinions sought. This is just step 1. :thumbsup2

Tricia, I'm still praying for Joshua. So glad to hear he hasn't had seizures since :woohoo:
Did you get my email on Sat. night?
If you need a little help with dicyphering some medical terms, I might be able to help you on that. I don't know all the medical terms but some I know.
Hope all goes well with the specialist appt today

Yes, I got your email and THANK YOU for it.

Today's appointment is with our regular doc. I don't know when the specialist will be.

I may very well have to throw some terms at you and ask, "What the heck are they talking about?"

Tricia - Just wanted to post and let you know that I am still thinkingo f you and the family. When you see the doc later, let us know how you make out.....and how is Carol doing today??

Thanks. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

Carol is better. I told her she has a dog's life now, literally. She sits, she walks, she eats, she uses the bathroom, she sleeps. We're going over there to have lunch with her, so I'll know better after I have another first hand look at her.

If the furry bean is a girl, it will be Pam.....if it is a boy it will be Stanley - nope....not a cat too many allergic peeps here for that. it is a teddy bear hamster.

buddybean has to be in school at 12:15 (afternoon kindergarten) cbean was at school at 8:30 and kbean is in the living room hacking up a lung or something :scared1: Seriously, she has a wicked cough :guilty:

I am having my nephews overnight tonight - sil (jim's sister) is having #3 via csection at the buttcrack of dawn tomorrow and once I take frank to school tomorrow, I will take the boys in to meet their new little sibling. My brother and sil will be doing the in vitro again in a few weeks - hope that one sticks!

i think kfish should have that statement on her class test today.

boy, won't we have fun when she shares the answers with us.....

Ooo... Ooo... I'll second that idea!!! :lmao:

Thanks Jodie and Mac! I had the weigh in wearing big old heavy motorcycle boots with my pockets, bowels and bladder full. I was 9 pounds heavier than last Friday! When I win I think we should all go out to eat.

And that will be the last time you'll be happy to weigh MORE!

I was going to suggest jeans (which can weigh a pound or more by themselves) and to avoid the bathroom for a couple of hours prior to your weigh in, but it looks like you already had that thought.

I have a vision of Pheobe on Friends when she was sitting in the exam room talking to the fertilized eggs they were about to implant in her.
Phoebe: "Hello, tiny embryos. Well, I’m Phoebe Buffay, hi! I’m hoping to be your uterus for the next nine months. You should know, that we’re doing this for Frank and Alice, who you know, you’ve been there! Umm, y’know they want you so much, so when you guys get in there, really grab on. Okay, and-and I promise that I’ll keep you safe and warm until you’re ready to have them take you home, so… Oh! And also, umm next time you see me, I’m screaming, don’t worry, that’s what’s supposed to happen."

One of those classic super funny episodes... and it has nothing to do with anything, so I don't know why it flitted into my head.

I hope things go perfect for your brother and sil this time! Fingers and toes crossed over here!

:rotfl: This made me chuckle out loud. Literally "out loud," not the overused LOL out loud. KWIM?!

Tricia, glad to hear Joshua had a seizure free night! :yay:

Mac, $60K, eh?! I think we're both dating ourselves! :goodvibes

I cannot go TPing with you though ... what if I decide to run for public office? Oh, yeah, that's right ... one need only read the DIS to find that I'm really no angel ... :rolleyes1

And, oh, yeah .... that would be the Angry Mike hours ... see, when Mike is on evenings, he gets up, drinks his soda, has 1 cigarette, does his "bathroom thing" (we actually call it "working on a crossword") TMI, I know, then works out, then drinks another soda, then showers, tries on 5 different outfits, looking at himself in the mirror each time and asking either himself or me if I'm around "Does this in ANY way make me look fat?", then leaves for work. If it's a crazy day, he might have to stop for gas, which does throw off his whole routine. So, asking Mike to take Savannah for her vet appt was asking ENTIRELY too much. One time I offered to stay late at work to cover for him while he took Savannah for a vet appt. OMG. You'd have thought I'd asked him to donate a kidney to a stranger. Instead, it took him all night to determine that he wouldn't work out the next day. He'd just shower and come into work early so I could take her to the vet. I swear.

tricia glad u r hanging in there, not sure whether to congrat u on the weight loss (i've been there;) ); beware the grey hairs.

oldest DS had his supervisors job eliminated @ group home (his real job-the one w/insurance:eek: ); got a good serverance pkg and he still has his 2 other jobs & will qualify for unemployment...just hope DIL doesn't "decide" to get preggers now. Head supervisor got the can before Xmas, new owners bringing in their own mgmt - what can u do? least he's getting a good recommendation.

ps TR - pics of grand cayman are up:thumbsup2

Afternoon, friends! :hippie:

Is anyone else dieting? If so, what kind of plan are you doing? Right now I am doing Atkins, but only for another 3 weeks, then I am adding a lot more fruits and veggies and a little bit of whole grains, and just trying to watch my calories. I have lost 9 pounds so far in the past 9 days! :cool1:

Toot (sorry, too lazy to go look up your real name)

We have some ladies and gents here that are dieting. Wendy is on the Alli diet, MFletch just started his today (not sure if he is on a program) , mac can lose weight at the drop of a hat, Barb (who does not need to diet) is not dieting "per se" but she and Jodie (who also does not need to diet) work out pretty regularly, Tricia got the "crap scared out of her 3 pound loss" over the weekend and I am currently doing a sugar free/modified Atkins/thyroid medication diet. So we are all here pushing each other along.....I personally refuse to weigh myself again until I go back to the doctor in February - I will have to let you all know then what the results are :thumbsup2

So when I weigh. . .it's the exact opposite. . . . but I won't go into details:lmao:

Oh yeah, and I'm not gettin on a scale in front of anybody. . . no one else gets to hear my scale say "OUCH. . . get your big, fat a#@ off!"

Afternoon, friends! :hippie:

I started alli on 1/2 and have lost 11 pounds as of yesterday. I tried Atkins, but had trouble sticking with it and as soon as I didn't do it anymore, I gained back my lost weight. . . plus :scared1: Good luck with it though. I know of a few folks who have been successful long term with it.

BTW, I'm not dieting anymore. I had to make some very serious life changes because diet's don't work for me. I'm learning how to eat all over again, and managing to make good choices. . . one day at a time. . . . that's how I do it. Just like any other addiction, it's one day at a time.

I will stop using the alli as an aide in about 6 months, which is when it is probably no longer effective. I've added daily vitamins every evening and I'm adding a supplement to help my liver process all the fat going through there. After 25 pounds, I've got a workout routine to begin and I'm moving and walking much more than before.

Here's my tip for the day. . . fill your glass, cup, water bottle, whatever you use only 1/2 full. . . then you have to keep getting up to refill.

Aaawwww. . . they are so cute. We had a pair of hamsters. . . sisters . . . that my brother and by dnep gave us. They actually gave them to my dd's, including everything they needed, about 1.5 years ago. After a while, they started fighting. . someone lost a toe, another has a torn ear, so we had to separate them. They did very well, but both recently died. . . within a couple of months of each other. . . weird, isn't it.

At Christmas, we went to look for one of those teddy bear hamsters to replace the first one that died, but they are hard to find in my neck of the woods. We ended up. . . well. Santa ended up. . . getting a bunny and the look on our dd's faces xmas morning will forever bring tears to mine eyes. . . . anywho, we also have the new furry creature. . .he is so originally named Thumper. . . but Santa wrote dd's a poem about how Thumper was born and why he is named as he is. . . . yes, I wrote it in the 9th hour. . . cranked it out in 20 minutes at about 1:00am xmas morning. So, I'm not a believer in giving live xmas gifts, but this time it all worked out fine.

Enjoy your newest furry!

This one is for Jodie...

I went to the grocery store a few minutes ago. We were running low in Tyson's Veggie Tales chicken nuggets (a necessary staple with my boys) and we needed some toilet paper, fruit, that kind of stuff. The store was MOBBED and several shelves were empty. Ummm... WTH? It's Monday afternoon with no holiday on the immediate horizon. What's up?

I grab most of what I need, since they were out of a couple of my usual purchases and I wait in line at the checkout. I NEVER have to wait in line at my grocery store, but all the lines had 3 to 4 people in them. Again, WTH???

I asked the girl at checkout what on earth was going on. She said, "Didn't you hear? We might get some sleet and freezing rain Wednesday night."

 :headache:   :rotfl:

Oh, and Barb, you can tell your husband that everyone in our area wanted to make french toast. The missing items from my list? The kind of bread and milk we normally buy. :lmao:

Oh, you are on alli? That's very interesting! I have never seen anyone who was on alli. How do you like it? Are the rumors about alli true? (that you lose control of bowels, and leak out)? I was really interested in alli until I heard that you always need to keep an extra set of clothes with you!!

Congrats on the 25 pounds! That is a wonderful accomplishment! :thumbsup2
