Haven't done it yet, but I’m planning to try. On my Kroger app when I go to this offer, a variable load card comes up in the drop down menu, so I think it should work! Will probably go tomorrow.

it worked! Bought a variable load card, loaded with $500, got $3 off the activation fee, so $2.95 for the fee. Used my new freedom card with the intro offer 5% UR back at groceries.

People not familiar with the Kroger variable load cards should note that they don’t earn any fuel points, so that’s not part of the savings.

I looked at my past transactions. My SuperTarget and SuperWalmart both code as groceries. Sams Club does not code grocery. We don't have Meijer so I'm not sure...
