Walt E Disney Airport

Face it, it's isn't going to happen, especially since it has to be completed by July 1, 2023!

Disney will also lose the ability to build a nuclear power plant. Good material for click bait

I think some of the thing Disney had written into their charter had more to do with how people in the 50's view the future.... and less on the practical aspects of it as we know it today.

We should all be driving flying cars and have our own personal robots at this point...

This is laughable. The FAA would need to approve any airport. And before they would even consider, an environmental impact study would need to be done --which in of itself would take over a year. Like someone stated above, this is just click bait.

Actually, not completely true…..
not true at all.
although this may be click bate, the FAA only cares about public airports, and then they really only care about public airports that have received and still have current grants…

Privates airports are well private, it is in the land owners best interest to tell the faa about them to have them public as private on the selectional but it is not required

Ok, technically you are correct. But realistically no. As long as the private airport is for use of its owner/owners the FAA does not need to approve. However if commercial airlines want to land there (the purpose of this airport) than yes the FAA would have to approve. I googled and here is the answer:

What makes an airport private?

A commercial airport is a publicly owned location at which flight operations take place, usually for commercial air traffic. A private, or executive airport is privately-owned location that maintains an airfield, air strip, or runway for private use by its owner or owners and isn't open for use by the public.

Also not correct, privates airports can be public use
What makes a private airport is the owner, it is not built on public land or with public money….

So if Disney built another airport it could very easily be private owned public use.

Well, this is all moot anyway, as we'll be getting our individual jet packs any day now.....lol
