We'll Be Doing Whatever Snow Does in Summer- Trip Report

You all look so cute in your color coordinated outfits. That's so sweet that Owen was so excited for the Princesses. Most boys that age want nothing to do with them. Dinner looks pretty good but I know what you mean about things looking better than they taste. I'm glad the kids had a good time and you were able to distract grumpy Braden with the technology.

aw. How cute your mom got those crowns for the girls.:goodvibes

Cheese and grapes....mmmm

That salad looks amazing, bummer it was just okay

Love Snow White, she is my favorite :lovestruc

Great update! I love hearing about your experience at CRT! We have never been and I want to try a reservation for our August trip. Have you been for breakfast? Which do you think is better dinner or breakfast? Just curious, excited to hear more about your trip!

Thanks! We have the 4 kids matching a lot- way too much according to my husband but his opinion doesn't count. :rolleyes1 Owen gets very into things- Braden not so much. He was such a grump on this trip but if you ask him he had the best time ever~ My food pics aren't quite up to par with yours but I tried!

The crowns were very cute and much, much cheaper I am sure than anything they sell at Disney. They were perfect for that night. The salad picture totally does look amazing and I remember thinking how good it looked before being just disappointed. My notes even said we were all underwhelmed by the salad so it wasn't just me.

This was our third time doing dinner there but the first time with the princesses. It used to be only princesses at breakfast and then the Fairy Godmother and Mice at dinner with Cinderella greeting downstairs. I really liked the princess element- it made the whole experience more "royal" and festive. We have only been for dinner but I am sure breakfast is wonderful too. The food was very good every time we have been there and you are really paying for the atmosphere and setting which is like no other. You just can't beat eating in the castle. If I am going to pay that kind of money I will probably always do dinner as we just don't eat enough to make the price of breakfast worth it and it feels special and "fancy" to go at night.

The second princess to come to our table was Aurora or Sleeping Beauty. Aurora is actually one of the names I considered for Avery but my husband hated it. He said he would be ok with "Belle" but I didn't want that one. I just like the name in general, not just because it was Disney related. Anyway........

Owen was very excited again.

Avery did manage a smile for this princess!

For dessert they brought each of the kids ice cream sundaes and we all chose "The Clock Strikes Twelve" for dessert. I guess there was a pattern of the adults choosing the same things that night! The dessert was amazing.

Ariel came next. I have seen a lot of Ariels that don't look just right but I thought this one was beautiful and looked perfect. We had very good luck with the princesses that night. They were all super sweet and looked fabulous. Maybe they put their best ones in the castle since you pay so much. :rotfl:

The last princess to come and visit was Jasmine. She was very outgoing and sassy. Owen loved her as well of course.

She did try and get Braden to warm up a little. I am not sure it worked but I did get sort of a picture of him with a princess!

Our reservation was for 8:15 and we had been there quite a while. It was finally time to leave the castle.

Well we tried to leave anyway but the castle was roped off on both sides. So essentially we were stuck in the middle where the restaurant exits and the side to Fantasyland as well as Main Street was roped off because Wishes was about to begin. I was baffled that they would just leave us stuck in there during the fireworks but of course they didn't. Just as it was about to start they let the people who were roped in out in front of the castle and we had an amazing spot to watch the fireworks. Tinkerbell flew right over our heads. I am pretty sure I got teary as this was a magic moment and a fabulous end to the first day.

We left with the masses and took the walk back over to Bay Lake Tower which was perfect. Not having to wait with the crowds for any type of transportation is amazing.

When we got back to the room my sister had another birthday surprise waiting for her. This was the other arrangement my mom and I got her from the Disney Florist. It was an embroidered Mickey Bag with balloons and fun snacks. I hope I get spoiled like that when I turn 40. Well then again I may just remain in my thirties for a long time...

The kids quickly got ready for bed and everyone was off to sleep in no time. I opened up my curtains and drifted off watching the lights on the castle and counting my blessings. I could not believe the view and that we were really there.

Awwww thanks! I am so glad you are enjoying it. I am really having fun looking back on it now as I do the trip report. I think taking a break before I wrote it was a good idea. I am uploading Day 2 pics to photobucket right now. I so do not enjoy that site!

Great updates! I have never done a meal in the castle and this really makes me want to! The food looks good (Izzy would love the grape and cheese bowl) and the wands for the kids are cute. Looks like great princess interaction, at least for Owen. :rotfl: Glad he was so into it - very cute! Awesome that they let you out into a fireworks viewing spot. And how nice to just walk back to your room!

I actually think the girls got wands and the boys got swords. They were cute and Avery had her wand for a long time before she finally did it in recently. I am sure Izzy would love it when she is a bit older- I think our girls were still a little young to appreciate it but the adults did. The first time we ate there it was kind of like a bucket list thing but it became a tradition.

Looks like a great night at the castle! There was one picture of Owen that had me :rotfl: you must have caught him off guard but he looked like he was very confused.

How awesome to gets a great spot to watch the fireworks after such an amazing dinner! I love it that you can just walk back to BLT from the MK. It makes a night like that all that more special.

Rise and Shine

By 7:00 everyone started to awaken on our second day and we began to prepare for our 10:15 ADR at Ohana. The kids got a new letter this morning inviting them to breakfast!

Still loving the view.........

We had ordered groceries from Garden Grocers so we had some snacks and fruit to motivate the kids to get up and moving. A light breakfast snack in the mornings was a must for the girls. No one was moving too quickly today and no matter what it always seems to be a huge ordeal to get the circus moving anywhere.

We made it out of the room and across the bridge to the Contemporary. I loved the convenience of staying at a Monorail resort but we did find that the monorail had a decent wait sometimes and it could be very crowded.

The great thing about the morning was that Braden got to be an "elevator man" first thing and we got to ride the monorail which were two of his favorite things about Disney. So onto the monorail and off we went!

It was a quick ride and soon we saw this~

We had arrived at the Polynesian. The construction was immediately evident and gave the whole place a very boxed in, claustrophobic feel. We took a few pictures before heading over............

...to check in here!

Best Friends Character Breakfast at Ohana

Ohana was super busy and we had a decent wait before we were called. We sat around in the lobby area waiting and of course we took turns taking Braden over to the elevator for a ride and to help push the buttons for people. He was very official asking them what floor and sending them off with a big smile on his face. I am quite sure we could have let him do this for the entire 10 days and he would have been in heaven.

Finally we were called and seated. It was very busy and chaotic and not a super relaxing breakfast. I had been to Ohana for dinner before and loved it but no one else (except Braden when he was a baby) had ever been. I had high expectations for this meal as everything I read had been very positive. Our server was Cousin Romeo and he brought us some bread very quickly.

We were all happy to be settled and hungry. Well mostly happy- Braden was already in a bad mood again and wanted nothing to do with eating or characters. We did our best to ignore him.:rolleyes1

Photobucket is being a pain right now so hopefully I can come back in a while and add more to this post!

I have not done character breakfast at OHanas in about ten years or more. Shame it is sounding like not a good time so far.

That is so cute about Braden and the elevator :goodvibes

Owen can give quite the looks- he is a master picture poser when he wants to be too. The walkway to MK from BLT is a huge selling point for it.

Braden being a major grouch was not Ohanas fault but it was busy- like crazy busy. We did go late so maybe earlier reservations are not so busy?

Aw, sorry you didn't have the best experience at 'Ohana for breakfast. :sad2:

But that's adorable that Braden was the elevator operator! :goodvibes

He truly wants that to be his job now when he gets older. That is what he tells people- "I want to be an elevator man when I grow up." I hope there is more money in that occupation than I am thinking! Maybe like an elevator engineer?
