We just found out we might be coming on the cruise. We're scrambling to make arrangements and have 2 cabins on hold for 24 hours. We are: Julie (me), dh Steve, dd Sadie (12), ds Sig (8) and dd Madalyn (2).

I can't read through the whole thread, but I have a very important question:

Is anyone staying in Barcelona after the cruise and if so, where are you staying? We're thinking of flying out Monday and need to find a place for five people. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks.
Julie
(hopefully to be joining you)

I am a little bit of a computer junkie :surfweb: Last night I was the last one awake at home and got this idea to make a Disney Graduation Diploma. It needs some work as I just came up with this idea late last night but here is what I came up with....

diploma.jpg.w560h432.jpg

I was thinking that I could print these out and take them to DL this weekend and get them signed by Mickey. I am sure we could also get them signed once we were on board too. If anyone wants one for their child let me know.

I am going to work on the design and wording a little more so I will let those interested know when (in my spare time :lmao: ) I get this finished.

Not sure if Disney would have a problem with this or not??? It is homemade and really just for our own memories. :confused3

I am so impressed! I don't have a kindergarten child, but they are SUPER CUTE!

Thanks for the Info Hope. I've added it to my file.

Yea - Jannine has a passport!!! :dance3:

grass skirts on women folk? I think my kids would disown me ...:rotfl2:
Yeah, the kids may disown us, but that is what is therapy is for!!
LOL After all, remember when we where kids and our parents embarrassed us?? Horror!! LOL

You may want to post on the May 26th Med Cruise thread. Many of them are coming in to Barcelona a few days early and they can tell you about apartments for rent. Check with sweetsue on that thread - she knows everything.

And let me know if you are really going to on board because I'm making name badges and lanyards for everyone on the cruise list.

Hey all,

When I got home this evening I had an email from my TA that was apparently some kind of press release she got. It has some of the same infromation that someone (gydell?) already posted...bu tthought I"d share it nonetheless...enjoy!

Entertainment: Mediterranean / Transatlantic

Here’s another reason to book the Transatlantic and Mediterranean sailings, as we are excited to announce a few of the entertainment options that will be offered during these voyages. Guests will enjoy up to three new theatre productions:

· When Mickey Dreams (50 minutes) – Mickey Mouse’s dreams come to life in this musical spectacle guided by a cast of Cirque-like “dream seekers.” The show’s acrobatics and aerial stunts will thrill Guests, while a nightmare visit by the evil fairy, Maleficent, serves up a few chills.

· Disney’s The Art of the Story (50 minutes) – This celebration of storytelling’s magic features more than 20 performers, Disney characters from Mulan to Tarzan and a variety of production numbers from classic Disney films including Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King.

· On the Nose (50 minutes) – Everyone in the audience can win prizes grand and small during this original game show based on Disney trivia. Dubbed “On the Nose” because every question, ranging from Disney film trivia to Theme Park factoids, has a number-type answer, the show gives points to audience teams that get the answer “on the nose.”

Up on deck, Guests will enjoy new high energy deck parties:

· Sail-Away Party – New music, performers and Disney characters add up to a festive, brand-new deck party infused with the excitement of each new Mediterranean sailing and other exciting journeys to exotic ports of call.

· Mouse2O – Hula hoops, bubbles and beach party dances kick off this afternoon deck party for Guests of all ages. Refreshments are served, and Guests will have a cameo on the big outdoor screen, where Mickey Mouse and other Disney characters keep the party rolling with regular appearances and songs.

· Nighttime Mediterranean Party – Each European port of call is celebrated with music and special effects designed to light up the night during this first-ever Mediterranean Party. Disney characters and performers help keep the spirit of fun and adventure alive as Guests prepare to explore new horizons.

Additionally, Guests will find these other activities with a Mediterranean flair:

· Throughout the voyage, European-themed films will play in the Buena Vista Theatre such as: “Casino Royale” and “Moulin Rouge”

· Up to 70 new activities are being added to Youth Activities which weave the cultures of the ship's destinations such as: Crepe making on the way to Marseilles, France; Puppet crafting en rout to Palermo, Sicily; Mosaic tile make while sailings towards Barcelona, Spain.

· Guests should refer to their Personal Navigator onboard for details and times of all activities. Entertainment is subject to change.

The terrfically busy day has come to an end. I have just looked at my date book (which Dave "cleaned" and I couldn't find all day) and realized we missed a doctor's appointment for Marika this morning. OMG, I feel so bad--and they didn't even call. I had it in my brain that it was tomorrow. I will have to call first thing in the morning and apologize like crazy.

Erik--thanks for posting the more detailed version of what Gydell posted. I love getting information:love:

Hula skirts on us women folks?!? But I am wearing my vacation outfit that I don't have the guts to wear at home for sail a way--can't cover it up. And at least one of us parents has to be "normal" enough the kids will be seen with us. But I look forward to seeing many of you in your skirts.

I was out in our garage earlier today and I happened to notice a box sitting on one of the shelves. It's a box of Tide tablets. It has 8 packages left in it. I don't even know why these are there - they have to be at least 5 years old. If anyone is interested, I will bring them along. I might hold back one for myself, but that is surely all I will need.

  Finally got everything squared away with Disney and our plan tickets, staterooms, etc!!!

We are in rooms 6530 and 6502. 6502 looks a little weird on the map, does anyone know anything about this room?

Ok, so now it is time to play catch up on all of the months of planning that I did not have to get ready for this trip. Can someone tell me why I am exicted to make magnets for my door and I do not have anything packed??? Somehow or another I need to get packing to the top of my list!

Goodnight all, I'm going back to my larger luggage for all of you keeping track of my packing. It turns out that when I called our airline we can have 70 pounds each. When I called the TA and asked they said it was 50 pounds each. So, my heaviest luggage was 44 pounds... so, I'm going back to the larger luggage and shooting for 45 pounds and 4 bags. BUT JUST 4!!! Susie, if its more than that, you're sitting on the roof! HA:rotfl: WDW, Paris, 25 days on the Magic is getting the best of my expert packing.... Still don't have the pirate gear in either!

Welcome to SoCal, Scott!

I have the xyron machine. Not sure about the magnet, but I have the magnet stuff, so I'll give it a try tonight and see if it works on the refrig. If so, it should hang on the stateroom door.

If not, you can buy the stuff in the office supply aisle at your local Walmart for about $7-$8 for 5 sheets of 8 1/2 x 11 magnetic paper. It feeds through my printer at home just fine.

Or you could just make laminated pics and put magnetic strips on the back. you can buy them anywhere....Staples, Office Depot, Walmart, Target.

I remember seeing that someone was organizing a Gibraltar dis-tour. Since search doesn't work for me, I can't find said someone.

If you are (one of) said someone(s) and are willing to let Char and I tag along, please PM me the "where we're going" so I can dump our DCL tours.

-andy previously posted this on the wrong list

Stephanie--glad to hear all the details are nailed down now. Oh, and you like magnet making more than packing because mangets are FUN (actaully I think packing is fun too, but kinda stressful because there is that fear of forgetting something).

Kelly--:rotfl2: you'll have as much luggage as the rest of us when all is said and done. How many times have you packed and unpacked?

Rio had his first ever audition tonight. My guess is he'll get a bit part, but not Kurt (Von Trop--Sound of Music). Kids were told not to prepare a piece and then they did a cold reading. Rio went in the first batch and had all he could do to keep up with the actual reading of the lines and couldn't really "act" them. Too bad they didn't have them run through it twice as he knew all the lines by heart after that first read through. But, even just being on stage would make him really happy and he would learn so much so I hope he gets something. The play isn't until the last week in July and I emailed the director to ask if he should audition as he will be gone until May 29 and she said he should. So, everyone please send a few good vibes:goodvibes Rio's way on Wednesday for the vocal audition. Thanks.

How old is Rio? My daughter does musical theatre and so does the children in another family that we will be traveling with! Good luck with everything! The Sound of Music, that would be a very fun show to do.

It would seem that all my talking about our cruise put a whole lot of co-workers in the mood for a vacation!:goodvibes I am now banned from talking about the cruise for fear that no one will be left to work!:lmao: :lmao:

We have changed staterooms to # 5630

I really wanted a grass skirt......:cool1:

Welcome to all the new folks!:wave2:

I just know i've missed something important ...:rolleyes1 hope I think of it soon!

LOVED the Kindergarten graduation idea! :flower3:

Off to re-read past post just in case I missed something...:surfweb:

My husband and I were talking tonight about DVC and we wanted to ask members if you ever added more points after being enticed by little "extras" Disney offers and was it worth it?:) If you did, did you ever regret it?

Rio is 8. He was in three musicals when we lived in Michigan (he LOVES being on stage). But they were at our church and all the kids who wanted to just signed up and the casting was done by people who already knew the kids and their capabilities well, so no actual audition took palce. This is the first time in the 2 1/2 years we've lived here that there has been a show that will take place at a workable time for us for him to audtion.
