Just had to share that my eyes are bothering me...just very tired and these darn bouncing pumpkins are making me go bonkers!

Hi Everyone,

Just popping in quick to show you what I've been up to (and the reason I haven't been around as much).

Here's Caili's competition dress for tomorrow. I bought the dress, but it was plain. I added all the trim and sparkles.

Laura, beautiful!!!! Can't wait to see her in it!!

I dont know how she breaks the computer, but this time it was her. I dont know how it got past Norton, but she must have "nanatized" something....:scared:

:lmao: :lmao:

Nancy, I'm sure it's nothing you did. It may just need a good spyware scan.:confused3

I sat down to log in and see what I missed last night and it went nuts! Then it shut down. I know that he has spyware installed and he updates it but what ever it is came in through my email and forced itself to open. Jeff has a monster PC with all kinds of stuff in it....he is a gamer like my Donny and their computers are like jet engines when they fire up.

He never gets mad but I know that if I fried it he is going to be annoyed.

Laura- that costume is lovely! I have promised myself that my next project is to relearn how to sew. I had a dress made for Kady and the woman who made it makes dance costumes for her DD's dance class. I paid a lot for it and was so disappointed that I decided I would do it myself next time. Seeing how Caili's looks just reinforces that I want to do this as well.

Uh oh, that doesn't sound good.:scared1: But I'm sure he'll understand, you didn't mean to do it. Johnny is not allowed near my laptop, he tends to make computers do things I've never seen before.:rolleyes1

In Nancy's defense I hear you need an additional spyware program plus norton . To catch what Norton missed and visa versa.

I am sure he is like my neighbor they love to feel needed and love a challenge.

Tonight we are having one of those Bertolli pasta things I thought with garlic bread but we must have eaten the last of it when I wasn't looking :rolleyes1

I think I'm going to start having a list on both my frig and freezers so I can mark down what we run out of. My running back and forth to the store is wearing me out.

Don't know if this will help you or not but I have a list of frig/pantry stuff and as I use them I put them on the list. The freezer stuff is on a separate list. When I make my weekly trip to the store I check both lists and it seems to work out pretty well for me.:goodvibes

I wouldn't even know how to make applesauce!!:rotfl2:

All my mom does is throw a bunch of apples in a pot...washed, but not cored or peeled...adds in some water and cooks them until they are very soft. Then she runs the apples through a food mill, which gets rids of all the skins and seeds. She adds sugar, and voila! Applesauce.

Laura, You did a beautiful job! :thumbsup2 Now we want to see pics of Caili in the outfit! hint hint! Good luck Caili!

Thanks! Pictures of Caili will be coming tomorrow. This is her first time skating her new program (higher level) so I hope she does well.

I'm sure you can do it. That is my next project with Becky...make our own clothes. We are both weird sizes, so it is difficult to find things that fit right without tailoring. However, my sewing resume is limited to costume making, which is much different. You don't have to worry about how it will wear or how it will survive the washing machine.

Kathy -- Kudos to you on the quitting smoking! You may have hard days, but in the end, I am sure you will be so happy you perservered. You'll
know that you are stronger than your habit.

Mermaid -- I know I'm late, but I am so sorry for your loss.

I am sorry if I am missing people. Between the late Red Sox games, Caili's competition, and the Halloween projects, my mind is a little fuzzy.

Dinner tonight was breakfast. The kids and I went up to our neighbor's house after school and stayed until way past dinner. I had no time to cook, so we had bacon, English muffins, scrambled eggs (not Liam, of course), baked apples (peel apples, cut into chunks, sprinkle with cinnamon and a pat of butter and microwave for 4-5 minutes in a covered dish), and hash browns, which were pretty gross.

Kathy, here is the recipe you wanted. Kenny loves it but I think it needs some more tweaking here and there. Any thoughts are welcome.

Creole Shrimp Bake

1 cup chopped green pepper
1 large onion, chopped
1 tbl butter
½ lb grated sharp cheddar cheese (I use a little more - about ¾ lb)
2 pounds raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 (6 oz) can sliced mushrooms, drained (optional)
1 - 1 ½ tbl Worcestershire sauce (to taste)
2 (10 ¾ oz) cans tomato soup (I use about 2 ½ cans - Kenny likes it more moist)
4 ½ cups cooked rice
Salt and pepper to taste

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In large sauce pan or dutch oven, saute green pepper and onion in butter until transparent. Combine with half of grated cheese and remaining ingredients. Season with salt and pepper. Place in a 3 quart casserole and top with remaining cheese. Bake uncovered for 45 minutes. Serves 8.

Notes: This can be make ahead and refrigerated. I have assembled the casserole in the evening and baked it the next evening. You will need to add 20-30 minutes to the baking time.

Thanks Gretchen, it sounds great!!

How are you feeling?

I don't know if you're into country music or Paula Deen, but I'm watching her show right now and she has Blake Shelton on. She was just talking to him about rubbing his meat!!!!!:lmao:

Laura, the dress and headband are beautiful! Best of luck to Caili tomorrow.

I adjusted my meatball recipe. Here is my Tomato Sauce/Gravy recipe (makes 3 - 4 family servings...great to freeze):

Lauren - now I know why this is a weekend meal. It looks delicious and I have printed the sauce recipe as well as the one for the meatballs. I'm thinking this is one next weekend's menu. Thank you for sharing your secrets.

Nancy - don't feel bad. I'm barely computer literate and live in fear that I will download something bad by mistake.

Don't know if this will help you or not but I have a list of frig/pantry stuff and as I use them I put them on the list. The freezer stuff is on a separate list. When I make my weekly trip to the store I check both lists and it seems to work out pretty well for me.:goodvibes

That is a great idea! I've never done it that way and considering how quickly my memory is fading, I need all the help I can get. Like Janice, I have found myself running to the store WAY too often.

Thanks Gretchen, it sounds great!!

I'm feeling better (3 glasses of wine later), thanks for asking. I'm hoping most of the soreness will be gone by tomorrow.

I love Paula Deen. Hers is one of the few food network shows Kenny will watch with me. He really enjoyed the one with Henry Winkler. If I can pry the remote from his hand, I'll try to find it.

Johnny enjoys her show too! I have to tape it for him because he's still at work, but she is killing me on this one.:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Laura - Thanks for the words of encouragement, it really helps me, this isn't easy!!

OKWMom - I saved that recipe to try. Sounds yummy!

I just got in from our dinner and it went great - plenty of food, which is always my worry. I brought home a big bag of leftover beef fajita meat and man, that meat is so tender and good. No fat or grissly pieces. Since I didn't get to eat much during hte dinner (too busy cleaning up stuff and refilling drinks) that I just walked in the kitchen and grabbed 5 big pieces of meat. YUM. Even better cold.

Hello my friends....remember me, lol?
Well what a hell of a few weeks it has been to say the least!...I want to thank you all for the thoughts and prayers, much appreciated and needed.
I thank Kathy for passing along Kris' messages, :)!!

I am still having a tough time, but feel like I am on the uphill of it finally. I guess I was unprepared for what this would entail. I figured scope the wrist, fix the tear in 20 min, and be on the mend in a week or so.
Well an hour and thirty min later, with a cleaned up, but not fixed tear, and scar tissue removed from the base of my wrist in and around every bone and along the top of my hand later....I realized it might take more then a week, lol.
My hand is still swollen and black, but not like it was...it was 4x the size of my right and looked like a cadaver hand, lol. I told Kris it was a dead man hand!
For the past few weeks, I have slept all night, and then all day while Ross was at school, I got up when he came home from school. I am now dealing with what Kris is calling backwards baby issues....I am sleeping all day, and awake all night....did you know that law and order is on all night, every night until 2am and then back on at 4am on USA?!!? Thank god our Sox are in the series cause that keeps Kris up with me for a bit at least, lol!
I am off of pain meds as they were rotting out my stomach, and didn't seem to be doing much else. I go to p/t once a week, and then have to do it at home 4x a day, plus some water baths for the swelling.
The best part is my Dr. is very confident that this will fix my wrist issues. I told him I was surprised at how difficult it has been, and he said he wished he had known before he got in there, as he would have given me some warning as to what I was in for, the odd part of it all is that the MRI showed nothing at all, and when he got in there he couldn't see a thing due to the amount of scar tissue. He showed Kris and I the films, and it is night and day from the MRI to the O/R films. So he was surprised as well as us. Kris then told him that it was just par for the course with me, high maintence and full of surprises, lol!
I have to wear the brace until at least Nov. 14th and then will see where we are at with that. It is a huge PITA, as it leaves me basically one handed, but it does keep the pain down so it does its job, lol.

SOOOO that is the latest with me...have I bored you all yet, lol?!!?

__________
I have tried to read over a few pages, but I know how chatty we all are and there is no way I can keep up with the weeks that I missed.....people have come and gone on vacation...a few more are gone again....I hope all trips were fun and safe!!
I see that birthday's have happened as well, so I send big belated birthday hugs and wishes to all who have celebrated as well!
Nancy-I hope your knee is mending well, and Gretchen, I see you had a fall, take it easy and if it doesn't feel better by Monday you better get it checked!
Lauren-Great job on the weight loss, and the battle of the smokes, both at once, I tip my hat to you girl!
Mermaid-I am so sorry for you and your families loss..please know that you all are in my thoughts!

Now Kathy---There is not a thing you can ever do that would make any of us think any different of you, except love you more then we do!!
You know that we have your back always.....quitting smoking is a battle, and you are one strong lady...you WILL beat this!! Like others have said I am sure...you need us, we are here for the whole ride, the good, the bad and the ugly of it all!!
Kris and I quit smoking the day I found out I was pregnant with Ross after smoking for over 11 years, then about 2 months after he was born....he came down with colic..(aka my child has turned into a spawn of the devil, lol) and I was in full PPD...I found a pack in an old purse and that started it up for another year until I won my battle with PPD...that was just about 10 years ago that we quit, and Kris and I still have times we crave it....we would never do it again, but it is still there at times......I send you big hugs and strength!!

Ok I am beat...trying to type with one hand, and one on a pillow is akward, lol!

I do not have much to add to the WFD part of this as we are eating what Kris or Ross can cook, or take out. MY 93 yo gram did make us a pot pie, and an apple pie and a few goodies (bless her heart), but other then that it is either hamb. based or cereal, lol.

I will try to get back on here over the weekend and check in.
I have missed you all!!

Oh, I did see the christmas card post and Janice I will PM you my addy this weekend...but for now my typing is done..as it is now 1:15am, lol.

Wendie So good to hear from you! Yes I did know about Law and Order coming on every 2 hours give or take. When Alex was a baby I wouldn't watch it during prime time for that very reason. The little Beast had me up every 2 hours (luckily that didn't last long)

This morning I am making caramel rolls not exactly from scratch. We are lucky in having a boy scout whose troop sells frozen dough.;)

Today NO cooking for me after this I'm meeting up with friends and going out for lunch then tonight Tastfully simple party.:woohoo:

Hope everyone is well Kathy/Lauren continued support  :thumbsup2
