Halloween, the Paranormal, and anything related redux

I booked our surprise trip to DL for the end of Sept. And if that's not scary I don't know what is, especially since we weren't planning on visiting the mouse again till 2014. It's even more scarier trying to plan a trip that came out of left field without warning. Still trying to wrap my head around the logistics of it. What's going to be even more scarier is that the kids are going to kill me when they find out about it the day we leave on the trip. They still haven't forgiven me for the fast one I pulled on them in Feb for our family trip to DL (didn't know till we hit the border to cross over into the USA):scared1::scared1::scared1:.

Walking around looking at myself in that little pocket mirror I was holding was a bad idea. I walked right into that black cat, tripped over it. Slid falling underneath a ladder.

But the chili I made came out perfect!

No Passports????

We brought all our passports, supporting docs, and we did enter the country legally. And we will again in Sept. Sheesh you Americans, don't you want us to spend money in your country??? With the economy being what it is these days??? Hey, with our dollar being worth more than yours, and we get more bang for the buck.:banana::banana:

Oh my .... rub it in .... ;) he he.... I know, the USD bites big time, in comparison to some foreign currencies.
I would be really excited to know at the last minute, that I was being taken to the land. You can stop on by where I live first, pick me up, then I will assist y'all with spending your Canadian money. I have good taste, I would not steer you wrong. :) Anyway, I would just need to know whether or not to bring my tiara collection as well as my Disney jewelry. Otherwise, I would be a bit miffed, not having such with me. Not to mention I have a collection of socks, Disney etc. that I would prefer to bring me with. OK actually other things too. I believe I can now see how your family might become a bit upset with you over a suprise trip. For it is important to know how to pack. Still though, I can always buy a new tiara at the land. :)

S F .....

When you fell, was the chili still in the bowl then? In which case, good save.

LMAO Giselle. The trip to DL in Feb I created an elaborate story to hide the fact that we were heading to the mouse. It worked too good,,,,I gave the kids a stuffed Mickey holding a sign that said "We're going to DL", and the kids still didn't clue in that we were heading to the happiest place on earth. They accused of us lying, and it really didn't sink in that we were actually heading to DL until we hit the Peace Arch Border crossing into the USA. I did learn my lesson though, which is not to make up stories about things that will never happen. This time no warning what so ever. Can pull the kids out of school for 2 days and don't have to let the school know why as it's not an issue to pull them out for that short of time. Like a friend of ours said, if they didn't trust me before they won't after this trip:rotfl2::rotfl2:. They've never flown before, so it's going to be interesting, and the way I view it, it's a warm up to when we head to WDW sometime in 2014, which is a much longer flight than to Los Angeles. I'm starting the process of planning the trip, as we had no intentions of going back this quickly until I had the luck to win a 3 night stay at the Hilton Anaheim (when I was getting info on WDW of all things), and DH in his infinite wisdom decided to go before my AP runs out the beginning of Oct. Have a great day!

BELLEDOZER,

You and your family sound like a lot of fun. I have heard it said many a time, that Canadians are like that.
OK... so when are you stopping by to pick me up? ;) One of these days someone will, I am hoping. Preferably a sugar daddy. :) Anyway..... you would think that your children would have taken the hint with the Mickey gifties. That is too funny that they did not.
I would love to win a stay like that. I do enter contests, however, so far, nada, when it comes to a prize like yours.

Here is hoping that you and your family will have a speedy flight, have an easy time picking me up in Sonoma, Ca. and have a fantabulous time in Ca. and at Disneyland.

Like how I snuk that right in there?

For as long as the scabs are not in the chili, then that is definitely a good thing. Although, I D K? Extra protein can be good. OK, now that was just gross. And it was my evil twin that actually typed that. Obviously the home, once again, let her slip right out. She is very good for that. Last time, she found a way to get the keys, and a lab coat with i.d. and drove off in the mad, I mean lab scientists Lexus, the time before that, it was a a shrinks BMW. It was just so hilarious. Seriously ....

My fav nighttime pic of the big pumpkin at DL.

Thank you for sharing. I like your pictures. Especially the large Mickey Jack O' Lantern.

Please feel free to share more, whenever you might like to do so.

Oh, by the way, my suitcase is a bright fuchsia color. I will be the one sitting on the curb, over there --------- > :) ;) And if you need to borrow a tiara, just let me know.

Gisele -

I don't know if you saw this thread by mommaU4 (Beth), entitled "Anything and Everything Halloween." It began as an all-Halloween thread (but not specific to DLR because DLR HalloweenTime stuff is what we cover in the Halloween at DLR Superthread), and it's still mostly that, although I think that they went on to discuss a few things about the holidays past Halloween.

Anyway, it sounds like you and Beth had the same idea, so you may want to jump in on that thread.
I forgot all about that thread! :rolleyes1 And I think some of the pics I posted got deleted from my photobucket. Oops. Oh well.

This thread caught my eye though, simply because I adore Halloween!! It's the best holiday. Ever. Period. :snooty: Well, in my opinion. ;)

Anyway, just wanted to pop in here and take a look around! Only 167 days until Halloween!! :cool1: :thumbsup2

Have fun posting, everyone!

I am glad that you came on over to sit a spell. I like to read your thread too. Please feel free to share anything that is Halloween related or that pertains to the paranormal realm. Or just stop on by to say howdy.

OK I thought it was high time I popped back in and posted something about living in a haunted house. :)
We moved in when I was in 3rd grade, it was an old house, built in the late 1800's, huge!!! 2 stories, very cool house. Anyway, we purchased from a family who had grown up in it, they were the "kids" from the house and in their 60-70's, they loved the house but they simply didn't need one that big, nor did they want to go up and down stairs all day....so my parents bought it. We used to hear running upstairs and a ball bouncing, Dad would get mad and yell at my little brother and sister (they had a room upstairs, as did Mom & Dad, I slept downstairs, as did my older sister) and then Mom would say "Doug, the kids are all right here, no one is upstairs". He wouldn't say anything after that. LOL
I used to see the ghost of a woman standing on the balcony outside my parents room, the balcony was on the front of the house near the porch, we would go out onto the balcony and "lay out" on the roof of the porch (it was flat) but I never saw her then. I did see her many times when I was out front with friends, I'd look up and she'd be there, she'd wave at me, I'd wave back, my friends would ask who I was waving at because they didn't see anyone, I'd look up and she was gone already. My friends always thought I was waving at my Mom but I wasn't.....she was always dressed in a long dress, I never saw her feet but her hand was visible....of course she was wearing what appeared to be a nice hat and gloves along with her period dress. :) I used to have horrible nightmares, now people would call them night terrors but I was too old for "night terrors" when I had them, I would wake up scared out of my mind, sweating, freaking out...and she'd be there, she'd touch my cheek and say "sssshhhh it's OK, I'm here, go back to sleep" I'd calm down right away and go right back to sleep...on the rare occasions she wasn't there when I woke up I wouldn't go back to sleep....not at all.
My Dad still lives in the house, it's in great shape but needs some foundation work (the house has a basement and it isn't "finished" so it needs some work), he asked me a few years back if I believed the house was haunted, I said absolutely and asked why (he never believed when I lived there with him) and he said that after he renovated my bedroom and made it into his office he experienced "things" that he couldn't explain. I told him that yes, the house was/is haunted, at least it is IMO. :)

Thank you for sharing your haunted tale, I appreciate it. It is very interesting.
I wish you had pictures or audio. But then, since your father lives in the house, you can conduct a paranormal investigation. It would be very interesting to see what results might be produced.
Did you have pets in your home? If so, did they behave odd or strangely at times at all?
Did your siblings and mother experience anything shall we say different? And have you done any research on the house and surrounding property?
I personally have not seen anything that I am aware of anyway paranormal. I guess I do not go to the right places. Although, it is said that spirits are suppose to be everywhere. I don't know about that. Maybe they are just shy around me? Or perhaps I scare them away? I can only imagine.

Thank you, I will check that out S. F. Do you have any stories to share that are fictional or not that are of a supernatural or paranormal nature?

No pictures, or audio....that stuff wasn't "done" when I lived there still. We had a dog and yes, she would act strange at times. When she did I would usually see something that made me think it was one of our ghosties. My Mom believed the house was haunted from the day they first looked at it! LOL My younger siblings used to play with someone who no one else could see, I could see something strange, like a shimmer in the air where they said their "friend" was but I could never see the "friend", I just saw MY friend, who I believe to this day was a guardian angel. No real "research" done, just what we knew from the family we bought the house from. I do know that the bedroom I had was the bedroom of the woman who lived and died there, she died in my room....that should have freaked me out but it never did. When my parents bought the house there was some furniture that came with it, in the drawer of the dresser in my room I found a photo, I believe she was the person who soothed me after my horrific nightmares.....and to this day I also believe that those nightmares weren't simply dreams but something more sinister, they were just too real to simply be a "dream".

I truly believe that some people are more "tuned" to the paranormal than others are, that's likely why I can feel things where others can't. :) We lived in base housing out here for a while....my oldest DD would wake up screaming for no reason in the middle of the night and I saw someone standing in the doorway to our room quite a few times.....this presence was NOT soothing at all, rather he was a very menacing presence..and yes I know it was a male.......he did not like women or children, he never appeared to my ex, just to DD and myself.
