Limited Time Magic?

I am excited for this but we go several times a year and are actually trying to move back to FL. I am voting to meet KRONK!

Yes!!! Oh my, I think I would just die if I could meet Kronk. Better yet, an Emperor's New Groove ensemble meet - Kronk, Kuzco, Yzma, and Pacha! How great would that be?? I'm excited just thinking about it :hyper:

You can tell, look at those barriers! if you've ever been to NYC (or any concert) you know how high those portable barriers are. It looks great.

I think the name of the theme is a bit unfortunate, but I actually love it. It's no Million Dreams, but since I have an annual pass this year I'm excited that there is going to be something new almost every trip. It's the little things.

Dapper Dans sing the Boy Bands is really going to pack them in!!!:rotfl:
Sorry - I LOVE the Dapper Dans - but that one just cracked me up!!

I agree that the name doesn't work - even reading the title of the thread I was confused about what the??:confused3. . . does that mean.

I think they've figured out that we all like special events ;)- lol - I don't think I would be attracted to one day or week events, though, because they draw such large crowds - now if they did a month or so like they do the special parties then I would probably be in because I would think it would spread out the crowd factor.

I have to say that one of my favorite 'experiences' disney has done was the special character mornings for kids they did about 5 years ago. I hope they make these experiences as special as they did for that - I have such priceless pictures and memories from that trip.:goodvibes And I still miss the Pirate and Princess Parties - so if the Pirate week is anything like they were that would be awesome!pirate:

Thanks for that.

But, without anything to compare size in the shot, I can't tell if that castle is
this big:

Or this big:

(Or some other size.)

Look closer, down in the lower left corner. You can see people standing just behind the barriers.

In other words, it's huge.

The name is horrible I think but the ideas sound cool.

I told myself I was going to cut back to one solo trip per year and not have an annual pass but now I want to go to several of those weeks so maybe I'll do a few Thursday-Sunday trips next year instead.

I guess it all depends on when they are since there are times of the year I can't travel.

I think of the negative side....if I picked to go in the "off" season & they throw one of those crazy weeks in that everyone decides to show up to then it won't be an off season anymore. :sad2:

I think this is part of the idea, Disney does NOT want any slow weeks ever. I understand that it is getting harder and harder to avoid the crowds, but we all want new attractions and updates and Disney has to make MONEY to pay for those. We can't have it both ways.

I was not sure about the name of this promotion first but now I kinda like it. Yes, Disney will always be there, but kids grow up, people move on and drift apart, older people get to the point where they can't go anymore, etc. Too many people put it off and put it off and then never go. The time is now!

Great ideas, stupid, stupid name.

Ditto, ditto, ditto! It sounds like the Lexus Christmas commercials, or a retail store's sales pitch.

I may be in the minority, but I am hoping to catch the Daper Dans doing the boy bands music. That is just hilarious to me! Barbershop boy band music. :rotfl:

I think it's a fun idea! I agree that the tone reminds me of the Year of a Million Dreams, and that's how intend to treat it. I will go down not expecting anything extra or different; that way if the week appeals to me I'll be pleasantly surprised, and if it doesn't, I'll still have a magical trip!

Thanks for that.

There are people in the lower corner. You got it right on the second one. Almost perfect ratio!

If there is something every week of the year, than it's genious and I can't wait to see what's up for my week.

While I may not think the "special" :confused3 weeks are all that exciting.... or a great promotion, I have to say I LOVE  the idea behind the promotion of "Limited Magic" and their commercials as they are saying exactly what many of us have felt at one time or another. For me it is especially true of the one with Lucy! princess:

"Believes in fairies, magic kingdoms, and wishing on stars. Even believes elephants can fly... and you can't believe how time flies. Lucy at 4-1/2 and you - available for a limited time only"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=84xxcTX3E2k

OMG - really!?!?! This absolutely hits "it"[/B] for me. Genius marketing IMO - even if it is taking advantage a bit of parents emotions - feeling like our kids grow up too fast and life can fly by too quickly at times!

It still works for me and makes me want to get back asap.... time is fleeting.

I can only stand to go in the "off" months, so Disney will lose our business (currently only 8 APs out of many thousands sold, but still a LOT of money for us!) if there is no "slow season". We AP holders spend much less per trip, but I drop a fair amount of cash over the course of the year. The parks are already busier than ever...I'll have to keep an eye on these events and see how they impact our AP-purchasing decision!

Not really liking the name so much, but very optimistic on the whole idea. That will change if we get a crappy week though :rotfl:

I wonder if they're working on a new promotional dvd...I enjoy watching mine from time to time...but I need a new one to hold me over!

At first this theme sounded Uhh, well dumb. But after reading the article it sounds pretty darn cool!

Ill be excited for anything really! Being in WDW is already special enough, whatever pixie dust they decide to sprinkle on me after that is just an added bonus.

Awesome!! We will be there for the Villains one on Friday Sept 13, as this is our 5 year anniversary!!! Can't wait!!!

Love the idea! HATE the name. I understand the limited time with the kids idea, but limited should never enter into the equation when referring to Disney. How about Maximize your Magic? It all about maximizing the limited time you have with your kids!
