Limited Time Magic?

We got back yesterday and booked the bounce back for September 26th-October 2nd, this will be interesting as we will get 2 of the weeks, for a few days each :) I'm hoping my group can move our trip up to cover the pirate week but if not we will love our trip no matter what :)

Sounds like a pretty neat idea...but the name stinks. "Limited Time Magic"...yeah, not working. The concept rocks though.

I know everyone is different. But I don't spend the cash to book a vacation on what "might" happen. I need a few details to go on. I would probably be tempted to book a special extra weekend to Disney for something concrete I really wanted to do. But not on a "might".

I know a lot of folks booked trips to the MK for the 40th anniversary last year and when it was over went "was that it"?

My guess is that this will be accepted with varying degrees of excitement based on where one lives and how hard it is to GET to Disney. For people who live within driving distance and have APs I can see it being very cool. But for someone who has to mobilize an army just to get there........... completely different.

I also completely agree. We are going in June and we may or may not have any magic. However, maybe we will find out more as they role it out. Trying to be optimistic.....:scared:

This has me very excited....I will definitely plan to be there some time during that week...

If it coincides with talk like a pirate day, that's September 19th

I personally would love to see "Disney pays for your overpriced airplane ticket to fly to our park" week. Now that would be something :thumbsup2

There is a woman in the bottom left of the shot. ;)

We were at the Times Square event today. Hare are a few more pictures:

Most boring and odd name for a promo EVER. It almost sounds like a bad SNL spoof.
And yet another promotion that will really benefit locals, but pretty much no one else.

Haha when I saw the title of this thread when it first popped up I honestly thought it was someone making a sarcastic reference to the fact that Disney has reduced Evening Extra Magic hours to 2 hours. That's what it sounds like, what a weird name for a promotion!! I am no marketing person but I'm sure I could have come up with a better name given 10 minutes to think about it.

"Magic Moments"

There you go, knocked it out of the park, as you say over the pond. And, in under 5 minutes! :)

Considering the financial outlay due to the FLE expansion and the ongoing work on the mine train ride, to say nothing of Carsland at DL, I think it's pretty nice that Disney didn't just sit back and do nothing new at all for the next year. A lot of people who aren't quite as, shall we say, involved with Disney as most of us are will be surprised and delighted when they show up at WDW during Pirate Week, and I suspect that's what the Imagineers are aiming for with this promotion.

Also, I think it isn't so much the magic that's limited, it's the time.

Instant Magic!

Pop-Up Magic!

Surprise Magic!

Flash Magic!

A Flash of Magic!

A Flurry of Magic!

Sudden Magic!

Unexpected Magic!

Found Magic!

Magic Unleashed!

"Limited Time Magic"? I really dislike that. Sounds like an infommercial.

I like the concept (especially the Long Lost Characters) but don't like the name.
How about Magic Moments (wait, that sound cheesy too!), or Momentary Magic? Magicical moments? Week?
Eeek, this is much harder than I thought!

We're going in Feb so will get to see the True Love week. It sounds really cute and the idea of meeting the princesses and their princes is exciting. I wonder if Flynn will be with Rapunzel? Even more excited now!

Ok...so lots of you don't like the name, but I think that much of the point of this kind of promotion hasn't really been discussed yet in this thread.

It sounds like there won't be calendars and schedules and announcements of these themes and events...and instead, the information will be "leaked" using online outlets and social media...which makes for unexpected, last-minute, hurry-or-you'll-miss-it, can't-believe-your-luck, did-you-hear-what's-happening-right-now magic!

This sounds so exciting to me.

Don't get me wrong, I am as hardcore a planner as most of us here. I plan out nearly every detail of our trip before we go.

But doesn't that dash of the unexpected appeal to you? The idea that despite all the planning and the show schedules and the meet-and-greet strategies and the parade viewing plans and the ADRs that have been in place for half a year...that something entirely unscheduled might reveal itself at the last minute? Something that you've never even read about?

It's this aspect of the promotion that I think is great! I hope they don't reveal calendars and schedules for these events; it would defeat the whole spirit of the theme! Clearly some dates have already been announced, but I hope that as the year unfolds, most of the events are kept as true magical surprises.

I know I would love to discover something entirely unexpected on my next trip! That's magic! :)

Not really.:/ It seems like the majority of the patrons could miss it.:(

Sounds perfect for a local who can call in sick or schedule a spur of the moment vacation day and pop over to the park with their AP. Unfortunately....... that's not me........... or a huge number of other Disney fans.

Disney....... just give it up and bring back YOAMD. Everyone loved it and wants it back. Would it be so bad? Disney seems to love sequels, so why not here?

that's not what this is about though. It's about surprises!

I guess I'm assuming that there will be magic happening all year long. So, yes, locals will be able to take advantage all year long -- like they can no matter what the promotion is. But the point is, that when you are there -- whenever that may be -- there will be something unexpected for you to discover, track down, and enjoy! There will be surprises awaiting you on your visit...ones that you can not pre-plan and schedule around...because then they would not be surprises! :goodvibes
