Chatter's Delight! A place to talk to your hearts desire!

I am joining the Diva's for their annual girls weekend. I've got my flight and my tickets paid for. I am planning on upgrading to an AP once I get there as we are going to go as a family next December.

I agree, miss the chatter with all of you peeps. When I want a Disney fix, I mostly lurk on another Disney website, it's lots of photos so that's nice but like any site it's semi-cliquey and has lots of in-jokes and people getting offended for any random reason :rolleyes1 and I guess I feel like life is too short for that so I don't get too involved :rotfl:

How fun that you're going to have so much Disney! I'll be in the parks this weekend for the Tink :thumbsup2

Well, he has cancer. He goes in a week from Friday for a second biopsy.
:goodvibes

I'm back in the gym and already down 3lbs after a week and a half.

Our tax return this year is stupendous!! So much so that we are going to DL in October and staying at the DL hotel for four nights!! The last time I was there the monorail was still attached to the hotel. To top it off, DH is insisting on a park view room splurge!!

That is some good news! :woohoo:

I am well. I'm still working on my degree, but now I get to go to classrooms because I've taken all the online course that were offered. I'm back in the gym and already down 3lbs after a week and a half. Sure, it could be water weight, but I'll take it! My DD has a 4.0 gpa and my DS will be starting kindergarden this fall.

How exciting about another DL trip! And congrats on the 3lbs. I am currently trying to lose some weight too. Just started calorie counting this week, and I am doing a 30 minute work out every other morning. Hope to start seeing some results soon!

Hi Tania! Exciting that you are doing the Tinkerbell run. I wish I lived close enough to participate in that. Maybe if I get an annual pass I can afford the next one. Might be dreaming a bit on that one though if I want to go in December too. I wish I could just move to Cali! I really, really want to move there actually. Even for just a little while.

And yes, the boards always seem to have a lot of drama. I noticed it more on the WDW side when I was researching my trip last year. It was crazy the amount of outrage for just some simple questions.

Oh that sucks. We had to do that last year too. It sucks because the new ones don't play PS2 games like the old ones did. I miss playing Kingdom Hearts. :(

I stalled for nearly a year. I love playing it I bought it. I have Kingdom Hearts for my PSP so I can play it on that.

I recognized the name when I set up the secret santa ;) I don't let the cliquey stuff get to me. I chime in whether they like it our not.

Thanks, a friend of mine who I went to school with turned me onto "New Rules of Lifting for Women" it has the tag line "Lift like a man, look like a goddess". With our natural lack of testorone, it's extreamly difficult for us to bulk up like guys do when lifting weights. And, the more muscle you have, the more fat you burn even at rest. So, even though the initial exercises don't burn a ton of calories, the effect of growing the muscle does, so your buring fat all day :)

I am starting with some small weights with my workout routine and I'll work may way up a bit I think. I'm excited about all this. I've managed to keep my calories down all week and got 2 good workouts in. I am really sore, but a good sore. Excited to keep going!

Cardio is hard for me too, but I am going to try and build myself up so that I can do at least some. I am hoping by spring I might be able to get out and to some running. No way I am doing it now with the cold and ice. Brrrr. Knowing me, I'd fall and break my bum!

I found a way to do cardio without hating it. I dance. I turn on my favorite music and I dance. I do stomach toning with it by doing a small bit of belly dancing. It isn't as bad for me then.

I'm not a runner, either. Can't stand it. My cardio has to be "dancey" too. It doesn't have to be dance, though I do like Zumba. If the kicks and punches are done to the beat, I can find a groove.

I do knee lifts and punches too. I have incorporated a lot of stuff that I learned from Richard Simmons and from belly dancing. It works for me. :smooth:

Hahhaha, don't get me wrong, it's actually one of the least drama sites, it's pretty mild which is probably why I'm still on there ;) It's fun to see all the photos.

I love weights. It's the cardio that I am not fond of.

I'm the opposite, I find lifting weights SOOOOO boring. I like moving around a lot :)

And speaking of moving, Tinkerbell 1/2 done! It was a lot of fun. Got to hang with a lot of people I don't get to hang around with much -- in Anaheim of all places! My friend recruits for SJPD so she was there at the expo -- we all hung out and went to dinner at Tortilla Jo's/DTD on Friday. A bunch of cops who are really into Cross-Fitting and eating Paleo. On their "cheat day" -- eating tons of chips at TJ's and sugar rush at Marceline's. :rotfl: It was too funny.

On Saturday my good girlfriend got into town and we hit the parks. Her fitbit said we did 11.1 miles. Probably not the best plan for the 13.1 run the next day

Sunday was the race, up at 3am, ugh. I really liked the course this year, better than last year, IMO. It didn't seem to have such a long boring stretch through Anaheim like it did last year...maybe it was just as long, but it changed up enough so it wasn't too bad. The first 5-6 miles flew by because it was so much fun going backstage and thru both parks. I didn't beat my Personal best for a 1/2, but I came in at 2 hours 7 min which is still very respectable....especially considering I didn't really train :rotfl: Then I flew home and back to reality, I'm here at work now :surfweb:

You fit a lot into your time there.

Great time for not having trained. Before the cancer my DH started doing biathlons and he really enjoys them. It is an interesting race to see. I totally get walking that much in the parks. We average 10 miles when a day when we go. I used to wonder why my feet hurt so much at the end of the day until I started tracking that. I often think that if you followed a diet at DLR you could lose weight there.

Still sending :goodvibes .

Yeah -- you could totally lose weight if you could resist all the amazing goodies there! That is so hard for me though. I think if you were a local with an AP it could be done, a little less tempting if you see it all the time. I have so many favorites even I can't fit them all into one trip. For example, this trip I didn't get a dole whip, churro, monte cristo, something from Pooh Corner, or the cupcake from Hungry Bear, a corndog, or....yeah I could go on and on :rotfl: Instead I did get a bread bowl from Pacific Wharf, tri tip sliders and black pearl from cove bar, TJ's guacamole and chips, Karl Strauss endless summer, a Matterhorn Macaroon, and.... you know how it goes ;)

Thank you, I appreciate it.

What is a black pearl? I am intrigued. My favorite thing and must have is the chili in a bread bowl. Oh my.:lovestruc

I believe it's like a Long Island Iced Tea. Very tasty from what I hear. You can get one at The Cove in DCA
