Disney Gift Card Deals

Nice job! What a great feeling it must have been to be able to take such a nice trip and know that part of it was free!

Thank you so much! I used to be the queen of couponing. I once spent less than $5 and we didn't buy toilet paper or paper towels for a year LOL. I don't have the time to do it now but this is definitely a fun way to save some money.

Again, you can go through either rewards program to make your purchase. If it automatically credits, great. If it doesn't, you probably won't get anywhere by submitting a trouble ticket since both programs exclude GC purchases from credit.

As for the rulers, you purchase them each time that you shop at Target for a GC, when going through a rewards program. It doesn't have to be a ruler. Other office supplies like tape, glue, colored pencils, etc. work just as well.

Thanks for the help!! I am finally getting the hang of it.

You have a great handle on how to do this!

As far as the rulers, in the interest of not drawing anymore Target attention, I would vary what you order. All these orders of gift cards and a 25 cent ruler will bring attention we don't want. Especially with them now banning people!! All school & office supplies have the potential to be credited by ebates (though it is not guaranteed). Also, clothes, baby items, washcloths, placemats...just read what ebates pays cash back on and shop from those categories.

Thanks!! Great tip. I will try to get some pencils and paper too, stuff I'll actually use. Thanks again.

I opened topcashback and linked to eBay thru there instead of using Ebates but nothing has shown there yet tho a pop up did say my shopping trip was recorded. And I see where it says I went to eBay but cash spent is zero. Does that update after some hours or something? I thought I read that they do payback on eBay target gc purchases, is that right? And that Ebates does not at eBay?
I also used Top Cash Back for the first time for my eBay purchase yesterday, and there is no information listed on my account yet. If it doesn't show up in a week or so, I will open a ticket.

I've never bought a GC from any of the resale sites, and now I don't think I will. The extra % discount is not worth possibly getting banned from purchasing from Target online. I started doing this to see how far I can stretch GC's earned from rewards programs, so I think I'll just stick to using those.

ETA: Target has cheap glue sticks - a 2-pack of Up & Up for 30 cents, or a 2-pack of Elmer's for 50 cents. My kid's teacher is always asking for more glue sticks so I bought a couple packs with my last order and I got the eBates.

That's what I do! I have done Raise a couple times and it was fine, but I prefer to stretch my reward ones and try for a free trip.

I used topcashback for three orders yesterday (1 Raise, 2 eBay), and none are showing up yet. They say allow a week to show up as pending. If mine don't show, I'll open a ticket. I've had to open a ticket with them a few times and all have been resolved.

I don't know if I can do enough rewards programs to get a free trip, but I am aiming to at least cover our food for the week. We're planning for April 2017, so no free dining this time. (Which is fine with me. Two years in a row of it was enough.) I want to try renting DVC this time also, so I can't pay for that with gift cards anyway.

It just seems to be too big of a coincidence that all three data points involve one gift card reseller. I'll stick with buying my Target gift cards from Kroger and don't think I'll buy doing any eBay churning.

The gift cards from Kroger and the cards bought from eBay are from the same company, Blackhawk. I don't know if Target will bring down the hammer down on those of use who have been churning the cards between eBay and Target gift cards, but just buying the cards from GCM on eBay is the same as buying them at Kroger.

Not if the original buyer bought them fraudulently. If I buy a target gift card at Kroger, it's not going to be flagged. I'm not sure the churning has anything to do with this. But I'm just going to stay away from it and the ebates loophole just in case.

I have what may seem like a dumb question….where do I find GCM on ebay? I have been doing the raise for target cards and then go to target online to order disney. I'm trying to decide if I want to venture into the ebay option now too. Any tips?

GCM is currently out of stock of Target gift cards of all denominations. When they're in stock, they normally come up as one of the top search options if you search "target gift card." If you don't see them, go to the "Buy It Now" tab, and they should show up (if in stock).

Figures, as I'm finally getting the hang of it and go on to buy one, haha.

I'm still debating if I can keep track if I add ebay into my mix of raise and target to get Disney gc. Any suggestions or advice?

Wow, they did go quick. What, they were in stock for 24 hours? I did notice where GCM stated that electronic cards may be coming in the future. Interesting!

I just started doing it today. I added in Ebates/Swagbucks along with Ebay. With booking our honeymoon I already earned 2% cash back from our hotel which will hopefully equal like $20-25. I say go for it, if you can keep track of it all, I think it will be worth it. :)

OK, someone mentioned something about not getting the $200 eBay card from Target, but to get the lower denomination ones instead. Was there a reason for this?

Just that some people's orders for the $200 ones were getting rejected, but it seems like Target may have fixed that issue.

Also, there's no advantage to high value ebay cards now that ebay doesn't restrict how many you can use at one time.

Giftcard Zen is just a middleman for selling the cards; they don't actually take possession of the cards and therefore, there is no way for Target or anybody else to know the card was even purchased from the public site. It is possible to ID a string of gift card numbers that were fraudulently purchased and later resold (like the recent Lowes data points), but that would be coincidental that they were sold on Giftcard Zen or any other site.

To illustrate this, if you have loaded any of the Target giftcards you've purchased from Raise, Giftcard Zen, or even Target itself, go into your account on Target and click "manage cards" not "manage gift cards" under the Wallet section. You will get a list of all of the gift cards you've saved and/or used to your Target account. If you click on any of those cards, it will bring up a history of it's use. Many are from Balckhawk (the card issuer for third party retailers) and Target.com (cards bought directly from their site), but most are from store credits from various Target stores across the country. These credits could be from legitimate returns or they could be from fraudulent purchases and refunds. It will list the city of the Target location as the starting balance and then whatever transactions have occurred on the card to date.

Again, there is no way for Target to know where you got the card from or what you've paid for it. One thing that would be possible for Target to do if they don't like reselling of giftcards generated from store credits is to program into their fraud detection or risk mitigation software the ability track if someone having a Target account with a physical address in lets say Atlanta is using a card that was last used/issued in lets say Portland. That in and of itself obviously doesn't indicate fraud, but a consistent pattern of that may make them unhappy and lead to a ban. Or they could just not allow the store credit giftcards to be used online like Lowes did.

I'm sure the third-party reseller sites periodically confirm the value of the cards being sold. This would allow Target to "track" the cards to the IP address(es) of the computer(s) doing the checking. It wouldn't take a lot of detective work on Target's part to figure out which cards were listed on which sites.

Giftcard Zen probably generated an above-average number of balance queries to Target's system in a short amount of time thanks to their recent sale. That may have tripped some flags that led us to where we are now.

That was me yesterday. I had all but one order cancelled when I tried to order the $200 (out of like 10 attempts over several days/weeks). Others on slickdeals also could not get the $200 to go through. I just wondered if that somehow would draw more attention/flag accounts. If you have had luck with that one or never ordered it, go for it. Won't know til you try!
