Woot woot! We are going Sept 6-12th for my daughter's Make A Wish trip. She has a rare congenital heart defect, but just graduated high school - YAY!!!! We're staying at Give Kids The World Village. This is our first trip to Disney World so if you see us wandering the parks like lost souls please point us in the right direction - LOL. Baylee would think it was awesome if you waved at her and it would be a fun surprise to have people know her name so far from home!

Congratulations to Baylee, and your whole family! We will be in Disney World from the 5th-12th, we'll keep a look out!

So cool!! I am a Wish Granter for my area and have sent two kids to Disney for their trips. They both had such an amazing time! We won't be there when you are, or I would have high-fived Bailey! You are going to have so much fun and make great memories!

I made it. It is a retirement countdown clock I bought on Amazon. The clear cover pops right off, decorate it however you want. The day we leave we set it for the following trip so when we get home we are already counting down to our next trip!
I just bought the one that counts down to obamas end of presidency, since it's on clearance. :rotfl:It was only $5. Same brand.

I CAN'T STAND THE EXCITEMENT!!! I want to cry I'm so happy!!! It's almost starting to feel overwhelming! I just bought a few more things on Amazon and I reserved our spot at the airport parking garage.

We have a busy weekend, but Sunday night is open. I'm ordering pizza and holding everyone hostage to go over everything with me to make sure I didn't forget anything. DH asked me last night to make a list of what we need for our electronics...really? As if I didn't make that list 2 months ago!! lol!

I have a question about the food courts...we are bringing non perishables. But we still need things like spoons and forks. I know I can get those in the food courts...but what about paper plates or bowls? Are these readily available? I was planning on bringing the individual cereal bowls for everyone, but today I saw individual bags. Which would save a lot more room...but we would need bowls.

Any idea is it's possible to get some at the resort?
Yes, you can just ask. We did it in the past. Now we drive so we just bring them. Just go up to where you pick food up at quick service and ask for a few bowls.

I am so freaking excited for all of you who are going to be in DW from NEXT WEEK!!!!!
Me too, since we were supposed to be there 3-10th. We switched our dates a few months back so my son keep reminding me that we would be packing right now if we didn't change it. We expect updates from all of you going the first couple weeks to keep us excited until we leave on the 16th.

I love seeing everyone's countdowns! I write out one thing every day that I am excited about for the trip. I announce to my husband in the morning things like, "Today we are celebrating Liberty Tree Tavern!!!". He is kind enough to humor me! And yes, some of the things I get excited about are pretty random. I love the Starbucks in the MCO airport, because when I am in line, my Orlando trip has started! I make out the calendar far enough in advance, I cannot remember what each day is going to celebrate, lol. Maybe I have too much time on my hands...

I swear every year we go the same week as you! Our countdown is the same so I'm assuming we picked the same dates again. :rotfl:If I'm remembering correct we both went to universal the same day last time too.

Magic bands have arrived!!
They got here so fast. They shipped two days ago and are here already pixiedust:
Seriously can't stand the excitement, it feels so real now
We have a split stay and got our first set in 2 days, now our second set shipped and is taking a totally different route.:rotfl:

We are 6 days away! Magic Bands have been handed off to DDs since they are flying separately from different cities and we are driving. I have reminded both of them multiple times to not forget their bands. They are both in their 20's and should be able to handle it-lol! This weekend, we will make a Costco run and pack. I keep looking at the weather-temps don't look too bad!

Has anyone done the highway in the sky monorail crawl?

I remember on our first Disney cruise. We were not required to have passports, but you had to bring your birth certificate. We went with a group of 3 families. I sent out MANY emails and texts reminding everyone that they ALL had to have birth certificates! When we were all on the way to the airport, I asked everyone and they all said yes, they had them. Asked again when we got off the flight (I was afraid someone would leave a bag or something behind). So we get to the hotel and check in at the cruise desk. Of course, one of the guys did NOT have his birth certificate. He thought I meant JUST the kids! He laughed and said oh well...and the lady at the desk said, yep, oh well, your are NOT getting on this ship without it. He turned white as a ghost! I tried not to laugh, but seriously, how many times could I have said it!! Luckily, his sister was house sitting for him and was able to FEDEX it overnight to him. It was an $80 mistake.

Oh my gosh, you're right! Great minds think alike I guess!

Pictures of Halloween party tonight look crazy busy. Sweating Labor day week crowds. Oh well. It will be fun either way. Just a bit "too cozy"....:hmghost:
From what I've heard the first night is generally busy busy so while I can't say for sure of course I wouldn't take that as an indication for what crowds are like on other days.
