Its how your raise rates without raising rates. For those that fly in, its a non issue. But those same people don't use the parking lots either. So this way they are passing the buck (so to speak) to those that use it and they will now help to repave the lots, the streets and the other services they use.
This will soon spill over to the off-site locations too. Swan Dolphin has done it for years, same as the resort fees just like most other resort locations.
Remember Disney isn't a charity. Remember those people saying Disney should pay a "living wage" well this is one of the ways they can do it. With crowds like they have, they can afford to do it too, people will still come and still pay. They will only stop when people stop going, which isn't going to happen any time soon.
But for those that fly in your room rate already has the cost for ME built into it. If you drive in not only are you paying for something you are using but Disney gets you on parking fees so then win in both areas.
