***Official June 2018***

Our magic bands arrived two days ago and now I really feel like it's getting close! Older DS surprised us by visiting last week (he came home from deployment but we didn't think we'd see him till he came for younger DS's graduation) but I spent all free time hanging out with him so I feel like I'm behind. DS2 had final band concert last night, state tournament for Ultimate Frisbee this Sat. and Sun. out of town, then Memorial Day weekend is graduation and two sets of grandparents are coming into town, so we got to get the house ready for that (though thankfully they're not staying with us!), and work is busy and crazy. After they leave I'll be in full prep mode though. I wasn't going to get new shoes cuz I usually wear sneakers, but DS1's GF convinced me to get some sandals like she has to at least wear on the days we're doing water rides. I'll probably drag her along on a Disney shopping trip before we leave for last minute stuff. 24 more days!

buying a TIW card this time to get three trips out of it so we'll get 20% almost everywhere we're planning to go.
Yeah I was debating a TiW as well-but DD's CM discount last fall was better or as good as the TiW that it just wasn't going to be a deal for us (except the alcohol-and frankly Disney prices are so high that we don't do much). And yeah-the car insurance on her car has to have something mentioned in it on her coverage? I forget what exactly but last time we had to have our agent send a form or something. I print hard copies of hotel reservation, plane tickets etc just in case. Prob not really necessary in the age of the internet but I am old enough to know when paper was all we had:rotfl:

Our magic bands arrived today! Yippee! The luggage tags are cute. But I'm wondering...if we're not going to use Magical Express transportation, I maybe shouldn't use these luggage tags?

2 more weeks left in the school year. YDD has 2 more days of regular instruction, then 3 days in a row of field trips and a week of 'project week' where they get to do fun hands-on learning stuff. ODD has 2 more days of regular instruction, then 3 days in a row of comprehensive exams and then a week of 'project week.' We are all looking forward to the start of 'project week' because it'll mean no homework! YAHOO!

17 days!!! Is it too soon to pack? Haha
It's definitely not too early to pack! In fact, we aren't leaving until 6/9 and I already have some stuff squirreled away in my suitcase & park bag/airplane bag.

Of course, it's stuff that I won't need or use until the trip. Stuff like....

cooling towels
fans
some toiletries
body glide
ponchos
bathing suits
a t-shirt or 2

You can use those luggage tags with no problem...they aren't the Magical Express tags. The ME tags are the paper/tyvek type that airlines use when you check your luggage.

I have my kids clothes already picked out and hung separately in their closets. We just have so much going on, right up until the night before we leave, that packing is a very long, sporadic process. Our MBs are supposed to arrive on Friday, so then i can get started painting them, which is one of my favorite parts. Once we have ODDs birthday party on Saturday, i plan to get into full on packing mode and get the suitcases out so i can go shopping for anything we need but dont have.

So they are backpedaling a bit on the WCC thing. I’ve received a couple emails and a call from Disney. Oh and there’s a rumor of a character breakfast com8ng to Artist Point.

Also no official packing for me yet, I’m drowning in end of year school stuff -I’m a elementary teacher - and I usually do my packing, shopping, etc, the week between the end of the school year and our trip.

16 days to go and I told my DGD15 that we need to hurry up and leave before anything else happens. My poor old cat who normally stays inside or outside sleeping on the porch chair totally disappeared for 1 1/2 days and turned back up in really bad shape. He was so lifeless he had to lay down after only a few steps, wouldn't eat, and just wanted to hide under the bed or behind the sofa. So, took him to the vet and thankfully he's going to make it. Unfortunately, the unexpected $400 expense took a pretty big bite out of my Disney food/misc budget. :guilty:

Now I just want to hide under the bed or behind the sofa myself! lol Anyhow, I cancelled our town car and will use ME instead as well as cut a couple TS meals to compensate and I think we'll be fine without having to dip into savings or whatever. I'm actually happy to give up the totally overpriced BOG breakfast that DGD had insisted on and was right dead in the middle of prime touring time.lol I gave up my CG ressie too so we both gave up something.lol

As far as packing goes, DGD has already packed all the new clothes I bought her for the trip and wouldn't let her take home. I also have a box in my bedroom I've been adding stuff to as I buy like sunscreen, cooling towels, etc. It's supposed to rain a lot the next few days which will keep me out of the garden so I may start putting stuff in suitcases while I have the time.

My DGD's BFF's mother is coming over tomorrow for a little meeting to go over packing list, etc.

It's nice to be able to "talk it out" on here kinda like a diary! Helps me gather my scattering thoughts with people going through the same things at nearly the same time!

Carry on Juners! We're almost at our Happy Place!

:hippie:

Because I already bought our Disney git cards for our spending money for food/drinks/souvenirs for June, that isn't touchable. But my money for our October trip has not been converted yet, so that's what I keep using when buying stuff. I have got to build that back up again as I have only paid the room deposit and that is all!

We also have 16 days. My daughter developed some kind of severe acid reflux that caused breathing issues and missed 3 days of school. My son is home now with a sore throat. Mercy. Praying everyone is better soon. Daughter has to get through AP exam and then SAT and then we leave! I am working on backpack packing today. Still have a couple of first aid items to get. Did you order cooling towel or buy it somewhere? I have never used one. Got lucky last June with weather overcast and in the 80's. Going to go over my packing list again and look for anything I might have missed. Plus make some meals ahead for my mama who will be puppy sitting for us the entire week. It is getting so close! Have a wonderful trip!

I don't know how I haven't found this page earlier!!! Thank goodness though, the next 31 days are becoming longer and longer and I need something to keep me occupied until our vacay!!

June 18th-26th First time staying on property! Coronado Springs :D

We have a pretty big group going this year too. It'll be my parents. myself(24), my brother(22)(the new college graduate::yes::) and my younger sisters(13 &11) along with my uncle (1st timer) and my boyfriend(26) (1st trip since middle school)!

We have three rooms and plan on having 5 Disney days and 1 Universal day. I'll make another post with our plans in a bit!

Welcome to our crazy June group! You guys will love CSR- it's one of our family's favorites. That sounds like a great group. Keep posting your plans on here as you count down- that's what keeps us all partially sane till we actually get to leave for our trips!

Walmart has the Frogg Toggs cooling towels.

Yes as another person said you can check Walmart. I have purchased some from Amazon and there's actually some they sell in the parks but they are a different type than frogg toggs. I actually prefer them because they are cloth, the frogg toggs feel weird to me and give me hives.

Welcome, I'm glad you found us! I also love CSR, it was our first on-site resort and it was great. The pool is fantastic and lots of different places to try margaritas. They also just reimagined one of the areas there to a new sports bar and grill so enjoy that!

I've slowly started tucking things away in one of our suitcases while the kids are at school. I found some cute Disney shirts at our local Walmart for the kids to wear on certain days, and I broke down and bought myself a cute Maleficent shirt and horns today. I couldn't go to Disney without at least 1 special shirt in tow.....and horns...I mean, who doesn't want horns? So, for those going early June, if you see an out of place Momma roaming with Maleficent horns instead of ears, it's a fellow Dis'er! Come say hi!

Thanks! I most definitely will! The only thing left to do is to obsess over the plans we already have made and start getting things together to pack so this will help tons! We are so pumped!!
