Enjoy. We will begin the slow process of finalizing everything for our trip in 4 weeks.

Tomorrow starts the last week of school! This is one of my busiest times of the year (school secretary), my kids have two days of classes, two solid days of exams, and then the last day that is awards, whole-school picnic, more awards, and our only early dismissal of the year. I haven't been feeling very well the last few days. I slept most of yesterday, all night and I'm ready for another nap now (it is 11:15 a.m.). My bp has been very low the last two days and I have been a little lightheaded (self diagnosis for that is fluid in my ear due to allergies, not uncommon for me). If this doesn't get better, I may have to work a dr appt in this week. We leave a week from Tuesday, I don't have time to be sick now!

So I'm sitting at starbucks waiting for my son to be done with his family visit so we can get outta here an on the plane! I have a lot of work to do this week in getting ready, cleaning up, packing, but I'm totally looking forward to it! It's so exciting to see people starting to get their trips started along with us! We're going to Universal AND Disney next week!

Our first family Disney trip has officially hit the 30 day mark. We will be leaving on the 16th of June driving down, stopping in NC for the night and then St. Augustine again on Sunday for the night before our magical vacation begins. Kids are getting real excited.

First trip to Disney can be intimidating, don't over plan and just go with the flow! Love St Augustine! That's the bad thing about flying is ya can't make those little stops.

We leave in two weeks. I'm so excited. Need a road trip and some Disney magic. We watched the strangest you tube video of a partially abandoned theme park somewhere in Asia last night. Y'all it was bizarre and maybe only every 10th attraction was open and it was dirty and sad and very street fair kiddie rides. Many things were a Disney knock off which made us giggle. Anyways...after watching that I don't think there is anything that could dampen our Disney trip. Not an overflowing trash can or rude cast member or closed ride or broken animatronic could dampen the magic. It made me so very thankful for the opportunity to take my family to such a magical place. Medicine/first aid kit is packed. Non perishable room/park snacks are packed. I started packing each family members drawstring park bag. All our Disney plush toys are packed and ready to decorate our hotel room. We have been doing that since the kids were small. To every other June Disney traveler I wish you safe travels and a wonderful vacation. Let the packing commence!

Lawdy! That is a strange movie! Sounds like one of my pre-trip nightmares I always seem to have. Years ago when AKL first opened and we were going to stay there for the first time, I had a really crazy dream about AKL. Dreamed there were animals in the room, and someone left a gate open and animals were everywhere. It sounds funny now but boy was it realistic and scary at the time. lol

Next week! Woohoo! It's funny everyone always talks about giving the house a good scrub before you leave, but I do the opposite. My elderly father lives with me and can mess up a kitchen baddddddddddd. lol I've learned to hold off till I get back or else I'm getting ticked off because I have to do it twice! Have a good trip!

Sorry you're not feeling well. To be on the safe side I'd do ahead and get a doctor's appointment.

I've officially started pre-packing today. I mainly wanted to see if perhaps I could fit mine and my DGD stuff in one checked bag since Delta charges $25 per bag each way. But no, not happening. There's just so much stuff ya got to take on a Disney trip.

My DH was laughing at me yesterday because I got out my suitcase and my park bag and was taking inventory and putting a couple more things in it. Sure DH, go ahead and laugh! Because of your wife's preparations, we will have everything we need for the trip and all you have to do is show up with your own bag ready to go. :rotfl2:

Exactly! I've come to understand that there's planners and non planners. lol All of us here on the DIS are obviously planners or we wouldn't have found this site in the first place. My DGD15 and I are taking my best friend (and room mate) for her first time this upcoming trip. (We're kind of an odd couple of friends to begin with as I'm 60 and she's 41.) My DGD is as big if not bigger planner than I am. She's had her stuff packed for 2 weeks now. I've been planning, gathering, shopping, etc. for the trip for a couple of months now and just started putting stuff in my suitcase today. My friend looks at us like we're nuts! She'll probably be shopping and packing the day before we leave. Now, she's got a lot on her plate right now because her father has brain cancer and on top of that he fell and broke his hip. She's been spending lots of time there. However, even if that wasn't going on she'd still be packing the day before we go. I've asked her if she wants to see videos or pictures of the resorts we'll be staying at and she said no. She wants to see it all for real for the first time and be surprised. I get that, I really do. But that's not me. I want to know how many forks are in the kitchen drawer of my villa before I get there. :crazy2:

And if it was our family, my husband would wait until 12 hours before we leave to start packing. And within 3 hours of arriving at Disney he'll be looking through his suitcase and say, "Hmmm, I must have forgotten to pack (fill in the blank)" And guess who will have that item neatly packed in her suitcase. That's right, me, the planner! :D

I pretty much let my DH do his own thing and I pack for myself and the boys. I started yesterday, though I did make him a pile. He’ll do it night before I’m sure. Last year he forgot his bathing suit!

We are 13 days out and a giant storm just passed our part of GA and a waterfall of water came crashing down into the house through the windows on two levels. I am out of towels and buckets at this point. MY poor husband is rightly freaked out. I have been drying hardwoods and tossing towels in the dryer. Not sure how this will all get fixed before we leave; could be a very big issue. But Im gonna keep my cool. On the bright side the water missed the already packed bags and bags of snacks for Disney.

Oh no! We are in GA as well and had some serious storms this evening but nothing that bad. Hope you get it repaired quickly!

I usually look through his suitcase as he's packing (not when he's in the room, though) and make a note of things he's forgotten or didn't pack enough of and then I throw those in my suitcase. I used to do his packing as well but decided that since I was doing the packing for me (and at the time) 5 kids, he could do his own...as long as I checked it when he wasn't looking. :D

This is a good plan.

I have lists for the kids that they need to check off and return to me- I revise slightly depending on season, where we stay (hotel room on property vs resort off site), whether we drive or fly etc. I don't have one for DH although I probably should- he's also forgotten bathing suit, socks, and some shirts (polo type for golf) through the years. He now has more Disney branded clothes than I do- I've suspected it's "accidentally on purpose" so he has excuse to shop...

Omg hope the worst has passed and repairs are quick. Call the insurance company and contractor tonight if you think you need one at all! Coming from tornado country many have those peeps on speed dial and if you aren't first in line it can take weeks!
