I think I’m going to burn one of my 5/24 slots on a Barclay Arrival+ in about a week. Been trying to decide on a non chase card until I can get CIP2 sometime in June. I just want to double check and make sure my plan is ok. My last 24 months of stats:

5/17 BoA AAA Visa
6/18 CIP
10/18 CSR
11/18 Hilton biz
1/19 SW biz
3/4/19 SW Priority

My CL on the SW Priority is very high and I plan to lower that today, but I also have $2k balance on it. I hadn’t planned to pay it down until payment will be due mid May. Will either of these two facts make a difference with the Barclay app? I’ll pay it off earlier if it makes a difference.

I don't think either would make a difference for the Barclays app, but I'm not an expert. I had a few thousand floating on my Discover when I applied for the AAviator Biz with an instant approval. Granted it's not the Arrival+, which is harder to get for some, but your inquiries are spaced out and looks like 4 in the last 6 months. Are all those on TU? I think Barclays like to pull TU for most people and seem concerned with recent inquiries and like to see 6/24 or less for that card.

Have to wait 24 months between Chase personal checking bonuses.
Did this recently change? I thought you could get one a year, with the right amount of time in between?

You might be pleasantly surprised with your seating selections and see that EBCI isn't necessary. As long as I know I'm on a flight without thru passengers and I have an eligible child, I will save my money and just family board :)
How can you check this? I'm still debating whether to add EBCI for our July flights - Wichita to LAX and San Diego to Wichita, connecting through Las Vegas. Even though we're eligible, I've never actually used family boarding, I usually either buy EBCI or make sure to check in right at the 24 hour mark and so far we've had good luck. Since the EBCI fees have gone up so much, it's very tempting to not buy it for our California flights and hope the 24 hour or family boarding works out. Oh, and my DH has the upgraded boarding's that came with his SW Priority card that can be an option too.

It did change recently and it's retroactive. I applied in early September before the change but am still subject to it.

cousin's funeral arrangements?

For a small business I could see some kind of death benefit provided for employees; especially if it was a on-the-job accident. Flowers are easy, company's do that all the time, the casket and resting place get a little more unusual. But some people have unusual demands for hiring contracts, I could see it in the realm of possibilities that it's written into one :)

Well...for one, I know that very few flights go through Pittsburgh so it's typically a safe bet there. We are always on nonstop flights between PIT=>MCO or PIT=>RSW and vice versa. It seems there are never through passengers in PIT and home from MCO/RSW also rarely has any "throughs" either.

Now if you want to get technical and search you can use this site: https://www.flightview.com/TravelTools/ As an example, I can see that on our flight home this summer from RSW, the flight originates in St. Louis. BUT I also think it'd be pretty rare for somebody to book a St. Louis => Fort Myers => Pittsburgh route, especially when there's a non-stop flight on that same date that's available at a much cheaper price (as well as a few more connecting flights that just in general work better. Basically, the more investigative work you do, the better you'll understand the movement of your plane and passengers for that day.

You got a B41 on an EBCI??? How far in advance of the flight did you purchase it? That's pretty wild!
I could see it. When dh & I flew to FL a few weeks ago, we checked in right at 24 hours and got C boarding. I think so many are buying EBCI now. We were able to sit together both flights but if it would have been our fam of 6, we'd have been split. I think that is our reality now flying SW. Since we aren't in fam boarding anymore, unless we buy EBCI, we won't all 6 sit together - which is totally fine - as long as dh & I can each sit with one of the boys.

This is asking for another price increase...or I could see them adding Platinum EBCI which guarantees an A boarding position or something lol. I love SW but the way EBCI works is flawed IMO, if I paid for it and got a late B, I would be very upset.

I agree and I'm just surprised by how many are willing to pay this extra fee. It's not like SW is super cheap anymore. Their fares are frequently higher than other carriers like Delta, AA, United, etc.

I guess it's just not that big of a deal to me if I am on/off the plan first to pay to sit close up, and I can handle sitting next to strangers for a few hours. There is way I'm paying anymore than I have to, even if my flight was free with points lol!

I agree! I would be very upset if I saw all these other people and family boarding go before me if I paid for a "premium" check-in process.

I really don't understand it either! I equate paying for EBCI with a checked bag fee. Why would I pick an airline that has open seating with 2 included checked bags to then pay for EBCI? Let those people fly the other airlines with traditional seat maps and save the low wanna get away fares for me HAHAHA

It's a non-stop flight, leaving at 9:45 in the morning. Thanks for the tips! Hopefully this will work out... I am used to either Allegiant, where you can buy seat assignments up until the last minute and be fine, or Delta, where you purchase them right away. Next time I will pay for EBCI right away.
You will be fine. Go ahead and check in at 24 hours, but you'll likely be better off with family boarding. If you didn't have family boarding eligibility it would be much more of a concern. Just be sure to line up early for family boarding because those non-stops to MCO from IND are packed with families. The last few time I flew it I believe I got a late A for at least one of my people checking in at 24, and we managed to still sit together.

In this instance, I was on a cruise ship so checking in right at the 24 hour mark wasn't going to be an option. There was probably a good number of people on this flight in a similar situation so I guess no surprise that so many had purchased EBCI.
