News Round Up 2020

It sure seems like they are updating park hours more randomly recently. Used to be more consistently on a Friday in the middle of the month and now it seems like park hours updates can roll out at any time.

Some guests calculate how many more hours they can get at park X. And with that it becomes enticing to purchase/visit that park and Disney has achieved a crowd leveling by merely adjusting operating hours. Maybe I'm wrong. :confused3

Looks like the live action sequel to Aladdin is a go and will be released in theaters.

I didn't really like the live action, but I think it is more I don't like these "remakes" - but I am waaaay more interested in an original story (which this says it would be)

Sort of thought this would be a Disney+ thing, but guess if you get Will Smith he is going to be on the big screen

They should focus more on creating new original animated stories. The remakes are fine but they just don’t top the originals. I haven’t seen one that I said wow that improved the story of the animated one.

Only one that is close to saying that for me is Cinderella. Not sure if "better" that original but at least it felt different and had enough differences to the story that it was a welcome alternative

Cinderella is one of those films that’s been done so many times that I can see that being done again (and again). It’s something like Lion King where it’s a shot for shot that just doesn’t add anything.

We’re excited to see Mulan as it appears to be quite different from the original. But, hopefully not too different.

Yeah, it is the shot for shot (or near that) and also when it is the same tone, just feels like "what's the point?". (to make money, I know)

But I agree about Mulan, it just "feels" different and will likely give that one a shot

I adored the live action Cinderella. It was so lush and vivid looking.
The actors were so spot on for every character! She's who I think of now for Cinderella. And the Prince was charming! :p
