*****Official April 2020 thread*****

I was just searching for that. I am now checking the board a few times a day so I don't get caught off guard by a change from Boarding Pass to FP for RotR, like I did for the MMRR! I also pop in to ***** dot com Just in case that happens....

But anyway, I notice a park hour change on 5 Apr for HS, don't remember that there before in the evening.

HS had morning EMH on 4/5, now it's moved to evening (which is consistent with what they've been doing since RotR opened - no morning EMH at HS).

Unfortunately I won't be able to do that day. I think some of the hours may still change, to push it to 9 pm. Just a thought, who knows. I think I'm still leaving my FPs where they are in the day for our HS days.

Maybe this is a bad idea, but I'm thinking is leaving boarding group process as is for RotR a better idea than going to surprise announcement FP release? Unless it's going to be future posted for planning purposes (no surprise FP opening when not watching the news, then not being able to move schedule around or get an FP). Wondering about the boarding group vs. FP on RotR, what to change just in case now that my FPs are done. IF that happens, probably I'd drop MFSR, or SDD. I don't know how the rope drop looks for SDD now though.

Fastpass window opened today and am now really excited. Here’s what I’ve got:

Arrive weds night 4/8, staying at Caribbean Beach (first time there)
Dinner at Topolino
MK for fireworks and evening EMH

Thurs 7:30 breakfast at Topolino (would prefer not to back to back it there, but best availability, probably because it’s my only non-weekend breakfast)
Epcot is morning EMH, which I’ll miss for breakfast, but I got my morning fastpasses for soarin and spaceship earth, so I’m not too worried.
Lunch will be grazing throughout the day from Flower and Garden booths, and I have a 9:50 dinner at ‘Ohana

Fri is morning EMH at MK. Ride things I didn’t get to on Weds night, then 10:45 breakfast at Whispering Canyon. Then head to animal kingdom. Dinner is 5:30 back at the resort, then return to AK for evening rides and rivers of light (fastpasses for fop and ee)

Saturday 7:30 breakfast at Kona, then into MK for attractions without lines (carousel of progress, hall of presidents, philharmagic, and the tiki room). Hopefully I’ll get to some things with a short line like peoplemover and carousel. Lunch is at liberty tree before the parade, then I’ll head to HS. I have fastpasses for slinky and toy story mania and rock n roll (back to back in toy story land, then right before fantasmic). I thought this was my best strategy for going to HS even though I hate Star Wars. (I skipped the park entirely on my visits in September and November). Hopefully the line for Mickey’s railroad will be manageable, but I’m willing to skip fantasmic if I need to.

I’m psyched for new restaurants, new resort, and a new ride. Critics of my plan will say I have too much food, but I know I can handle it 😋. See ya real soon WDW!

I heard good things about Topolino on a podcast recently. My kids are a bit tougher to get going in the morning these days, HS mornings will be our early days and I need to watch and see what they do with park hours for HS. Skipping out on some of the other park earlier park opening hours as we need some sleep in or they'll be dragging hard I think. Breakfast likely in the room or maybe in our resort if it's a later day to the park. We have a few afternoon park start times, wondering how that will go for us, that's not what we have done before, usually rope drop, take a pool break, back to park in the evening. This trip the plans are very different!

I was hoping to have lunch there 4/1, but based on the latest rumors, it won't be open yet :(
I read somewhere April, now where did I see that now that I'd like to quote it!? Well, when it truly is about to open news will be out there. But I think it's probably good to check on WDW news daily headlines because when it pops up and if going in April, maybe it'll be a quick reservation grab if hoping for one.

Our reservations on dining are sparse for a week trip, can see it looks like more counter service or just at resort since we have a few choices there, planning to do breakfast ordering Instacart, may do resort breakfast twice at best. Booked just these:

Beaches and Cream lunch
Sci-Fi lunch
BOG lunch
Kona dinner
Via Napoli dinner (hope to swap for a Space 220 if it comes available)
TRex dinner

Last I saw was 4/6 (not from official Disney).

Yep, I saw that date on another forum, then went to look again earlier and couldn't find it, wondering if they pulled it as it couldn't be confirmed for sure. Will see!

Jumping in a little late, but we're headed down April 25- May 2! First time without our older two kids, so it'll just be me, dh, ds13, and dd11. It'll be kinda strange to have a smaller party for picking out fastpasses. :thumbsup2

I’m helping my friend plan her first Disney trip! She’s going 4/10-4/14. Basically easter weekend.

I told her to watch for earlier openings at MK on Saturday 4/11. Do you think that’s possible? And what about an earlier opening at HS in Monday, 4/13?

Thanks!

My guess is a flex to earlier hours on HS, and I'm thinking for MK that may go with a later ending hour vs earlier start. But yep, keep watching and seeing what hours may change.

Where exactly did you find those? It's the 13th and I though I would look for this year's menus.

I just Googled and found a post from Disney Food Blog from February 13, 2019 that said Disney had released the menus for the Flower and Garden Festival Outdoor Kitchens. Haven't seen anything yet for 2020, but I'm watching carefully!

I'm looking, too. We spent a lot of money on these booths last year, well it felt like it. We were only in Epcot back there once. The key lime wine was so much money, for not that much in the glass. But it was good!

Don't see any new news yet on Space 220 opening.

It's getting close for up April travelers! And I'm getting antsy! Please share your plans- who's in your travel party, where you're staying, which parks and activities you're planning, fast passes you booked or hope to get, where you're eating, what new things you're doing, what you're most looking forward too, shopping you still have to do, things like that- to give us all something to read as we eagerly await our trips getting here! TIA!

Finalizing fast pass plans and getting excited!! Going April 27-May 3! Goals for this trip are maximizing time with Star Wars and flower and garden!! Going to try for rise of the resistance 3 different mornings. Thinking about doing Animal Kingdom after hours and Star Wars dessert party if available as our “extras.”

There are 7 of us going. My husband, my dad, DS 10, DD 7, DD 4 and DS 2 at time of trip. We're doing a day at Universal then the next morning driving over to Disney. Staying at Pop. Here are my hopes for Fastpasses we book the 28th. I'd love any feedback this is only our second trip as a family. Breakfast will be in the room since my kids need to eat immediately and don't do well with waiting until a meal.

Day 1:
Peter Pan for everyone around 11-12
Splash Mt. For my older three kids, husband and me. Pooh for mt Dad to take my youngest 12-1
Lunch probably at Peco Bill's
Thunder Mt. for my husband, me and the girls. Jungle Cruise for my dad and sons 1-2
Dinner at Akershus 5:05

Day 2
Hollywood Studios rope drop to get RotR boarding passes then hoping to Epcot. If we get called immediately we can stay at HS and skip our FPs.
Nemo 9:30-10:30
Mission Space for some and Spaceship Earth for others 10:30-11:30
Test Track for my husband and oldest/Frozen for everyone else 1-2
Lunch in World Showcase planning to split a couple meals and to get snacks in different countries
Dinner is Hollywood and Vine with the Fantasmic package
If Fastpasses for SDD and Smugglers Run are still available we'd do all Hollywood Studios this day but I don't think it's likely.

Day 3
Break day for kids
Lunch Paradiso 37 11:30
Dinner 1900 Park Faire 4:40
After dinner my dad is watching the kids while my husband and I go to Hollywood Studios. Hoping to Fastpass Rockin Rollercoaster and Smugglers Run. 9:00 reservation at Oga's.

Day 4
Another day to attempt a boarding group depending on how our first attempt went
Smuggler's Run Fastpasses as early as possible for my Dad and oldest. SDD 10-11 for everyone else
Star Tours 10-11 for my dad and oldest. TT for the rest of us 11-12
TSM for everyone 12-1
Lunch at quick service. May hop over to AK afterwards but it depends on RotR. Right now I have a second Hollywood and Vine that night as a back up incase we can't make the earlier one because of RotR.

Day 5
SDMT for everyone but my Dad who will take my youngest on Peter Pan 10-11
Haunted Mansion for my Dad and oldest while everyone else does Enchanted Tales 11-12
12:30 BOG reservation
Meet Arielle for my Dad and younger daughter 12-1
Space Mt. For my husband and oldest daughter. Buzz for me and my boys. Ideally everyone else will have used their 3 Fastpasses and I can get them Buzz too.
