April Check-In **Official**

I had the WOC Dessert Party in my cart and was about to check out and then shut it all down after seeing the total price. I'm sure it's amazing and still on my radar, but I have to justify the cost. I'm waiting to see if we will get comp park tickets for one of the days, so maybe that will help. We are definitely doing the Hungry Bear F! package b/c that's my favorite show and I want the kids to see this one to compare it to WDWs. I'm just trying to decide if WOC is a must do for us.
To me, WOC Is a must, and I always do a dining package but I’ve never done a dessert party. I, like you, haven’t been able to justify such a high price. I want to try it someday but right now my picky eater 9 yr old would t even touch anything on the plate! Lol

I always do a dining package through Wine County Trattoria. The view is amazing and the food/drinks have always been good

That’s what I do have booked in the meantime!!!

Just booked Oga's!!! We have a friend visiting with us one of our 5 days and figured that was a good reservation for that day. :-)

Soooooo torn again now on WOC dessert party or dinner package...

Yes; how is the view though? It's hard to justify dessert vs full dinner... unless the view is amazing vs 'meh'...

That's where I get indecisive also. I think the view is better for the dessert, but how much better? I've never done the dessert party, so someone else will have to chime in there.

I booked my WOC dinner for my third night, so I can cancel it if I'm able to get a FP for it earlier in my trip.

I love the WOC show, but the viewing area issues leave a lot to be desired. It's more stressful than it should be.

We have never seen it, so it is for sure a must-do this trip... just not sure how to go about seeing it.

I had almost decided Dessert Party but now... hmm...

update for us: we are now 4/14/-4/20 and staying at the Tropicana vs the BWPPI. When we extended our dates there wasn't availability at the BWPPI. Some of the reviews for the Tropicana scare me, others are fine. Either way, it's for proximity, no need for parking or breakfast. Fingers crossed it's ok....

We extended to add a day for Knotts Berry Farm! And now contemplating a 4th day to enter park on late afternoon before 1st day...hmmmmm

tentatively have this idea:
friday 4/17= try to get a BG upon park opening; *maybe* parade dining package; Olgas late afternoon; fireworks
Saturday 4/18= MM @ DL; head to DCA; Wine Country Trattoria WOC dining package; WOC
Sunday 4/19 DAPPER DAY= lunch @ Cafe Orleans ; Fantastmic! premium dining at River Belle Terrace

I know it's so subjective but do these night time plans sounds good? (ie fireworks, WOC, F!)? for days/dates... I'm close to my 60 day window and I always start to get antsy....

Mrs. Knotts Chicken Dinner is what started Knotts! Try not to miss it. They do have a take out window. Tropicana is fine for sleeping and showering. Perhaps you can have something in your room while getting ready, or get something at Starbucks in the parks.
Have fun planning!

I’m going to buy my tix through UT. They include Maxpass and the kids tix is cheaper to buy them the 3 day tix with the current promo than the regular 2 day ticket. Too bad they can’t go without us! I’ve used UT twice before for WDW but has anyone had any issues with them for DLR?

I made a reservation for Mrs Knott’s! On open table

We usually just eat in the parks
We’ve ordered grocery delivery before for bottled waters and string cheese/fruit/snacks

We got a good rate for one of Camelot’s renovated rooms so are staying there instead of HOJO. A little shorter walk will be nice too.

Have a few reservations made now. We’re doing Blue Bayou F! dining, Cafe Orleans lunch and Storyteller’s Easter Buffet Dinner buffet. Haven’t done a meal at Storyteller’s before, but thought it would be good to get a few bookings made to get us out of the long weekend crowds for a bit each day.

We’re excited to check out Black Tap this trip too as it’s new since we were last at DL

For everyone trying to make decisions about WOC and free FPs vs. Dining Packages vs. the Dessert Party:
(From a post in the World of Color Superthread)
There is NO guaranteed great viewing for WOC with any package. All viewing for WOC is based on the inverse ratio of Time Invested : Money Spent. In other words, the more money you are willing to spend on a package, the less time you will have to spend waiting to get a good viewing spot. So, spend $$$ on the Dessert Party and get a guaranteed seat with a good to great view. (Disclaimer: any seat can be blocked by a shoulder kid or rude guest in the section or walkway in front of you -- that is not on Disney!) Or you could spend zero money on a free WOC FP and invest at least 90 minutes in wait time to get a great viewing spot in the free viewing area. The CCR and WCT dining packages fall in the middle -- spend $$ and wait less than 90 minutes but more than you would for the Dessert Party (and no chair). We've had very good to great viewing in all sections: free FP, CCR and WCT Dining Package sections, and Dessert Party. It all depends on how much money you are willing to spend and how much time you are willing to invest in claiming and holding your spots.
It is not necessary to spend tons of money to have great viewing for WOC, but the money will save you wait time holding your spots. If you want to save money, then be ready to invest time to know where you want to go in the viewing area (study the map on page one of the superthread) and to hold your spots! It is very possible to have great viewing in all the sections (free FP, Dining Package, and Dessert Party) -- just know that you will pay either with money or time.

Do the parks ever change their morning opening hours during busy times like WDW does? Easter/Day after are our days.

While not common at DLR, this can happen, e.g. CHOC Walk weekend and Christmas Week. So it would be wise to keep checking the MM/EMH hours for your dates, just to be safe. DLR can change the closing hours to adjust for crowds and weather -- another less common, but possible occurrence. I don't know that the week after Easter would be busy enough to qualify for a schedule change. But double check anyway.

We just booked our trip - it is a mother and daughter trip this time as my daughter is turning 18 and graduating from high school so this will be our special (and somewhat expensive) celebration!

We arrive April 25th through May 3rd and will be staying at the Hojo!

We have Savi’s Workshop, Cafe Orleans, Oga’s Cantina, Carnation Cafe, and Goofy’s Kitchen booked!! I was surprised I couldn’t get a Brunch booking at Goofy’s on April 10th (Friday) but it is peak spring break week! I’m getting so excited!!

I bought my tickets from UT. If you don’t get your tickets within 48 hours call them. Since it was my first time purchasing through them they needed me to verify some stuff. One I did that they were emailed to me and I’ve got linked to my Disney account via the app
