AP holders from NY, NJ, Conn

Filling out the quarantine forms is for air travel. Cuomo made no mention of it applying to road travel at this time.
I heard on the news that people who are driving or training it are supposed to fill out a form online.

What exactly does the form ask? Are you quarantining at Disney?

Well I’m doing something else besides disney but they stop you and write down your license plate, and ask for the information for the driver and any occupant in the car.

I will say they didn’t ask for ID or verify any of the information that I wrote down.

I literally could have written Donald Duck and no one cared, but alas I’m honest.

I can not believe FL is wasting resources tracking people from states with the least chance of being infected while the hotspot states can walk right in. FL citizens demand more of your government!!

Most folks today don't use Land Lines, so how is this going to be enforced using a cell phone? For all hypothetical purposes, the traveler could answer his cell phone and he could be at the beach. Enforcement is an issue certainly.

I wouldn't be surprised if they ping your cell phone to make sure you are at home. I don't know the ins & outs of the NY contact tracing program, but I do that other countries are tracking cell phones to make sure people quarantine. I guess you could turn off location services on your phone, but then they might send police to your house to check on you. I don't know, I guess I wouldn't want to test the system.

Honestly, I’m not sure why this thread keeps getting so many reports and keeps having so many problems. It’s already been locked once, might be heading that way again. Please stay on topic, follow DIS guidelines, etc. Thank you.

WKMG-TV News 6 (CBS) in Orlando is one of the news stations I emailed early Monday morning. I asked that *someone* please question DeSantis about his outdated EO.
From the article: "News 6 emailed DeSantis’ spokesman twice on Monday about the confusion surrounding the executive order but did not receive a reply."
No reply. Soo surprising... NOT!

Hopefully at DeSantis' next press conference, at least one reporter brings this up. Wonder how he'll respond when he's on live camera?

I'm really going to be bummed if this thread gets locked again. Its really been the only resource to share news and thoughts for the NY/NJ/CT AP holders here in limbo.

The unknown makes it tough to even talk to Disney about compensation because as of today WDW is completely open and we can't legally go to Florida whether we want to do not. That's really what this thread is all about.

You can legally go to FL. You just have to be willing to go into 28 days of quarantine (14 days there and 14 days at home) in order to do it.

Incredibly helpful link. Thanks for posting. Like many others, I would very much like to drive down in August, but I need the rules to change. Too long of a drive to risk it.

In addition, I would think people who live in and are traveling to FL would want to know why actual hotspots don't require the quarantine as well. Flying in from Arizona or California? Welcome! Traveling from Texas? Come on in! But if you're from NY/NJ/CT where we have a lower level of spread, hospitalizations, deaths, etc...? Quarantine!

At least the states in the tristate area have established statistical standards for adding hotspots to our quarantine and when it can be lifted. As much as I don't want to get political, it really seems like DeSantis is treating this like a playground game instead of a crisis.

This was one I emailed as well. 😁

Thanks so much! I really think the emails from you guys were the trigger for them to start asking questions.

Just a heads up for those concerned about returning to NY after FL travel. There *are* some exemptions to the 14 day quarantine mandate. If you think you might be considered an "essential worker" it would be worth it to Google and find out if you fall into the "exempt" group. This isn't a "loophole". It's written into Coumo's mandate. But it might help eliminate some stress for some following this thread.

Thanks for this - I looked into it a bit further. It seems like as long as you are willing to get tested, almost anybody in finance is an "essential worker" (except those in debt collection!).

It's the same in CT, and I assume NJ. I can fly back from a hotspot on Sunday, and be at work on Monday, albeit with extra monitoring (twice daily temp checks), and restrictions on my patient assignments (no immunocompromised patients). But, my family is still subject to quarantine. DH works from home, so that's not a big deal, but the kids can't go to daycare, camp, or school (which knocks out our late August trip). Also, if I do get CV19, I won't qualify for the enhanced PTO and sick leave protections. I could burn through all my PTO and end up on unpaid leave, depending on how long my recovery is (and I've seen people with really long recoveries).

So, yes, absolutely see if your job allows you an exemption from quarantine. But also make sure you know what the consequences would be should you contract the virus on a voluntary trip to a hot spot. I'm sure it varies by employer.
