In MA you don't need to be registered with a party to vote in a primary, but you do need to pick one or the other to vote in. There's a ballot for the republican primary and a ballot for the democratic party and you can't do both.

Yup. I'll survive. I'll just shelter in place until 8 PM on Primary Day. It's only a month. Once I automatically revert to Unenrolled (formerly Independent, but now Massachusetts recognizes the Independent Party), I can safely get back out in the world and par-tay!

The person who wrote that can't tell the difference between something "so foolish, unreasonable, or out of place as to be amusing; ridiculous", and a successful rapper. Or she just cantspell. Either way, just no.

I don't think disagreeing with someone has to be political. Which goes to my point that one doctor may have an opinion that another doctor may not share. If you had a panel of doctors that could come to a consensus then that would be much more powerful than a single person presenting his argument.

There is consensus among doctors that wearing masks helps suppress the spread of the virus. And yet the politicians go after medical experts claiming they don't know what they are talking about.

This thread is very funny, sometimes hilarious.

But really, it is a very sad commentary and demonstrates and illuminates very well why we, as a country, are where we are today relative to this lethal, ever-so-contagious virus. I think, until things that have been repeated in this thread pretty much go away (how, I have no idea), we will remain static where we are, if we are lucky, or more than likely, get a lot worse. It truly is sad.

It's more than sad. It's scary! These are people who vote, hold jobs that directly impact us, raise children, drive on the road, etc. The ignorance is absolutely, stunningly horrifying.

I'm more concerned about some of the stupid things people DO!

Our Florida Marlins are a good example. 4 players with the team in Philly for a series against the Phils tested positive. The team's response? The players had a group chat and decided to just keep quite and finish the series. Now, there are a total of 13-14 players/staff infected.

And the team and MLB have done NOTHING about it.

A family we know had a person test positive several weeks ago. She tested positive again last week. Their response? Road trip! They're driving across the state for 4-5 days at the beach!

Another friend family called and wants to get together. We said no, then okay provided it is in a very controlled setting outdoors. Three families involved, and now family #3 wants to know where we buy masks!

The Marlins are currently top of their division because of their percentage despite having only played three games because of their stupidity. The MLB should place them last until they have played the same number of games as the other teams. I don't know what should be done regarding the Phillies as it wasn't their fault, but, again...

I friend of mine has been posting article after article citing that Texas doctor who says HCQ is a "cure" for covid... you know, the same doctor who counsels that reproductive health issues are a product of dream sex with demons and vaccines contain alien DNA. The funniest part? The friend is a nurse practitioner!

Actually that is a really scary part.

And he was big enough to admit he was mistaken after further research and that they do help mitigate risk to others around you. That's what good leaders do.

He wasn't 'urging" people or telling people to do it. He was answering a question and said it might, if you really want perfect protection, it would be a good idea to shield your eyes as well. He didn't come out yelling, Everyone needs to wear goggles now.
