Question for those who have experienced - do you find that the app works slower in the park vs. when you've practiced at home? I got through 2 successful practice attempts this AM so I am feeling good but nervous that on the day my app will lag because of the number of people around me using the same cell network.

I got BG 27 both days we were in HS. We used the Skyliner and were waiting in the relaxation zone. Use your mobile carrier, not the wifi. Have the app open on the virtual queue page, as soon as the clock hits 10, ckick join.

Almost ready to leave for Disney. HS day is Sunday and I am SO EXCITED!!! Will report back on experience but wanted to say a big thank you to the posters here for giving me an idea of what to expect.

@yulilin3 - is there only 1 GET area? I believe you said there was one near Star Tours. We have a party of 8 which I know is going to be hard enough as it is so I want to be in line or near the GET umbrella when we try. Thanks!

Yes—there is one across from the baseline tap bar. That’s where I’m heading first thing.

Across from baseline taphouse, by the new restrooms. There's used to be 2 more but when i went this past Sunday they had taken those away so now there are only 2

Another successful practice attempt this morning but I could only get through once before it closed up - seemed to go in under 10 seconds again this AM.

Anyone there today and successful in getting a BG?

Hi,

I have an iPhone 6 and the app is doing the same exact thing for me (crashing when I practice trying to join a boarding group).

This is happening to me too!! I deleted and downloaded, restarted my phone. But My husband and I both have iPhone 6 and recently updated the app and it keeps crashing when we try to join. I did a chat on the APP to let them know about it. She said she can report it but it probably wouldn't be fixed by our trip (august 16). SO we are totally screwed. Its our only devices. And we only have 1 day at Hollywood studios, and never have rode the ride.

So today was a rollercoster (pun intended). Got in line for the skyliner at 8:20, then 20 minutes later were told that HS had a delayed opening today and they couldn't board us in yet. Nobody knew what this would mean for Rise of the Resistance. Turns out the park opened as scheduled, and I was inside of HS at 9:40. I figured I would have time to ride SDD since everyone was either going to GE or getting in line for MMRR. Not very many people at TSL, but slinky wasn't running yet. I was stuck in line at that point so I pretty much assumed that I wouldn't be able to grab a boarding group today, which I was okay with since I'll be back to HS next week. Well, I boarded SDD at 9:55 and was off by 9:58. Ended up getting boarding group 1...

Back to the resort at 11 after SDD, RoR and a delicious Ronto wrap. The park seems very very crowded today.

So glad you were able to get BG 1! It sounds like you had a great morning.
We arrive tomorrow and I'm disappointed to hear that the park was so crowded. That is my fear now that the CM block was removed for this week, the lower tier AP block was removed, and also the tri-state quarantine order was lifted. I think we may have a more crowded experience than we were hoping for.

I don’t think you will. The CM group is small, and they can’t get in any family/friends right now. I think there will be an uptick in crowds over the weekend with the lower tier passes, just like last weekend, but that it will slow down again by Monday just like this last week. Remember, they can only book 3 days a time, and all the AP days are blocked through Aug. 18 right now. And lastly, as to the tri state area, very few people can up and take a last minute trip to Florida. If anything, I think you will see that group at the earliest later in August.

I hope so @DisneyElite4! I'm sure it will be a good trip regardless, but it just seems like a lot of things that were keeping crowds low were removed all at once. Just my luck! LOL

I agree. You need to take into account that reservations for HS are almost sold out everyday, so I don't think we'll see an increase in crowds until Disney relaxes capacity constraints. Plus mornings are substantially busier at HS given that you need to be there at 10am for the boarding groups.

Ya, wait times as a whole doesn't look too bad. Anytime MRRR is below 60 minutes, that's a good thing lol.

But as PP said, it'll feel a lot more crowded in the morning due to people trying to get BGs

Also, HS doesn't have wide walkways like the other parks do, so seems more crowded

I hope so! I checked the wait times a little while ago and there were many rides that had wait times higher than I've seen in a while. 55 minutes TT, 40 FEA, 50 SDMT, 45 POTC, etc. I know those are better than usual, but I've been checking the past couple of weeks and there were a lot of rides with 5-15 minute wait times and I didn't see that when I checked. Maybe I just checked during a time when a lot of rides were in a cleaning cycle or something.

I’ve been checking a lot too, and this past weekend starting on Friday it was the same story. Wait times went up and there was a bunch of speculation that Disney had raised capacity. Locals assured everyone the weekends right now are busy - it got quiet again on Monday. CM passes had been lifted then, too. Of course, silver passes had not, but hopefully they will all be coming over this weekend for their 3 days and it will be quiet for you again next week!

I practiced this morning and got a boarding pass, and then my wife tried again at 2 and got a boarding pass also. Hoping we have the same luck in 2 weeks!

CM are blocked from DHS until December, the availability that opened up for this week is to the other 3 parks

I’m hoping they drop again Monday (our first Disney park day). The wait time at every park seemed higher today than I have seen since reopening.

mare they cutting Epcot 2 hours to close the same time as Studios? That will be a skyliner mess! We are going to Epcot the Saturday of Labor Day weekend but studios the Tuesday after Labor Day so that’s gonna be a mess. Oh well better at night than morning I guess
