Official Wine and Dine Half Marathon Weekend 2020

I signed up for the 10K. I have only done virtuals so I was excited to do one at this distance. I thought they would sell out instantly this morning but it looks like they are still available. I wasn't sure what shirt size to pick so I did my best guess. How do they normally run? And do we have to do this on the "actual" day in November or whenever we want. I wonder when the stuff will ship. It would be nice to be able to wear the shirt when I do the 10K.

Last year they switched companies making shirts and they ran small...

Since no time submitting is needed you can run at your leisure and I plan to run in full costume on Halloween

So the half marathon medal is a spinner with the poison apple on the other side, per a video on RD’s Instagram. It wouldn’t have changed my decision to refund, but it would’ve been nice if they put this info up before people could opt out or sign up once it went virtual.

We are in uncharted times. I don’t think it would hurt to reach out and see if they are willing to do something. With registrations for all events still open I would be surprised if they didn’t want to take your money, but who knows.

I believe you should be able to upgrade. From the race policies: "Registrations may be transferred within the same race weekend to a longer race distance, as long as the desired race distance is not sold out."

I’m confused now. I registered once the race was virtual for the 10K but I got an email today asking me if I wanted a refund or if I was doing the virtual. Anyone else get this? I confirmed virtual but I wonder if I got because I emailed asking if I could upgrade from the 10k to the two course challenge. I hope I didn’t mess up that chance now.

I got the same email and I didn't sign up until after the event went virtual. It said I would get a gift card as well. While I'm assuming this was in error, I confirmed just in case! haha

I got the following email today. Looks like it was a mistake:

"On August 3, you received an email from us asking you to make a selection by August 5 to transfer your 2020 Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend race registration to the virtual event or opt for a refund. This email was sent in error, and we apologize for the confusion.
Please note your registration for the 2020 Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend virtual event is not affected by yesterday's email."

I can’t believe I spent the money to do it, but I signed up for the virtual 10K. No in-person races to look forward to so why not?
