News Round Up 2020

I recognize I am not the target audience, but that looks pretty terrible. Maybe it will surprise
Seems like a movie that has been done dozens of times ... but with a unique theme. A streaming platform is definitely the place to try these things out though. If the kids were older -- maybe check it out.

No but remaking more crap just for D+ isn't what most of us expected either. I enjoyed the original and I like Zac Efron, but as with most remakes, it doesn't need to be done.

And we don't need to get into that whole argument again but if they're (hollywoood not just dis) going to redo stuff could it at least be decent stuff? Or like Bill & Ted or the top gun sequel, same people almost makes sense to do them again and nostalgia almost makes it not a total money grab.

I know lots of stuff used to get redone, showboat, a star is born and others. But we also have yo remember that back then unless the movie was in the theatre you didn't get the chance to see it. Now I can watch any or all of the versions of a movie in one day if I want to. That's why I find it tired, boring and unnecessary especially for all these 80s movies.
I have Disney plus for access to the entire Disney library and the mandolorian. There’s supposed to be a lot of original marvel series in the pipeline that seem promising.

From the linked post ... "The family comedy was originally planned as a theatrical release for 2018 before being removed from the slate completely and never getting any type of distribution."

This film was shelved well before Covid. While l like Adam DeVine and Gillian Jacobs, I couldn't imagine this as a theatrical release. This would be a perfect example of 'straight to D+' content.

Netflix repurposes movies from or finished production on a lot of movies. I just pumps content into their library. Disney is following the same model. More content is better, doesn't mean you have to like everything and if D+ had some super high bar of content, you'd get bored of the service pretty quickly.

I see this as just a continuation of the direct to video market.

Yep, whether Netflix, Prime, or D+ etc ... this is just the latest version of the direct market. Looking at the list of the 'movies I may enjoy' on Amazon Prime reminds me of the new release shelves back in the Blockbuster Video days full of shoveled direct to video titles

we have D+ here for Mandolorian, some of the classic animated movies and shorts, and a few other movies and shows.... we are not into the teen shows, and really don't watch much else, but do like the Gallery and Insider series. We liked the new movies (Onward, Frozen 2), but not so much the Muppet NOW. If it wasn't for Mandolorian, we probably wouldn't pay for this service.

I think Chapek's one play is cost cutting and raising prices.

Something I just thought of while talking the wife. With only 8 hours in the park, how many people are even going to do a TS lunch? I normally do a TS every day, but with only 8 hours I'd never give the time to it
Sad face. It's my favorite ride. I know this is old news now.
I wish this meant there were some plans for instituting a fireworks show at MK. I understand the logistics, though.

And with that I am caught up on this thread. Whew!
