2018 and 2019 Extended Points Outcomes

I have some points which was originally used for a reservation in May with a June 2018 UY. They ended up being extended.

Am I able to ask for a reallocation of those points for a reservation in my April UY? That would mean I need to move the points to another of my memberships.

Pretty sure those points will expire in November regardless of what you do with them.

I've called, emailed, chatted and begged and there is nothing they are doing with 2018 points except extending them to Nov 30.....

I don’t think they allowing any change to the rules for transfers, Since these are banked points, those have never been eligible for a transfer,

Of course, it never hurts to ask!

2018 banked points that were extended have an expiration of November 30th unless you're saying you got them extended for an entire year? That would be unique and I'd guess unlikely.

Only extended until November 30th. One more year would have been great :-)

Maybe.

Is the existing reservation set to occur prior to the expiration of the extended points? If not, then no. IIRC, the extended 2018 points expire on 11/30/2020.

Was the existing reservation made after the 7 month window opened? If not, then probably not unless the extended points are from the same home resort as the points used for the existing reservation.

My advice is to call MS and ask - but I suspect you were planning to do that anyway and just want to know if your request is likely to be successful. :) Good luck!

I have a 7 month reservation on my other membership was kind a hoping the points could be moved but not counting on it. I’m gonna ask of course :-)

Like others my 2018 June UY points were not showing online. I booked the rooms needed for our October trip online using 2019 points, then used online chat the next day to have the switch to 2018 points made.

One of my nights was not available so I wait-listed it. When it came through they other day they had automatically used the remaining 2018 I had.

I guess I need to call MS. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I also have an August UY with a few expiring 2018 points... which I used to book a night in July (under the impression that I had to use them & thinking my sister could go- both of which ended up not being true!)... I cancelled that long ago and rebooked for October. But with all the back & forth I’ve read here, I’m getting a little concerned that they may be forever lost.

On a very different note: to those of you that are sad/upset/angry about all that has happened because of the ‘rona, we all understand. We’re going through this together, and it’s been hard on a number of levels for everyone. My family is very careful during regular life, and yet I caught this virus long before my little town should’ve had any cases. I had a temperature for over 9 weeks and was still sick a few more after that! Several others in my family were quite ill for weeks as well. My daughter wasn’t able to go to work (but thankfully my husband already works from home!). I may lose some DVC points because of this. I had to cancel a very special Disney trip in May and may not be able to go in Oct/Nov since I am pretty immunocompromised and have just recently caught it for the 2nd time (and, yes, still being very careful!)... So, when I finally get to go back to my happy place, I would truly appreciate my family and I being able to feel safe and have an enjoyable trip!! 🤩 Thank you!

I had March then June reservations cancelled by Disney. We booked in August to avoid losing 99 2018 banked points and 200 points from our September 2019 use year. However, since PA still has a 2 week quarantine requirement for FL visitors we cancelled. I called Member services yesterday at 45 days out to transfer our points to RCI and the CM had me hold while she reviewed my account. She came back and said that the 200 2019 points will show up in September 2020 use year the first week of September. She also mentioned that the 99 points banked from 2018 would be available but that I would have to call member services to use them.

I'm hoping that all Member Services staff now correctly knows the policy. I had previously been told in a chat that since I had an August reservation the points weren't eligible for the extension. I'm going to chat today and see if I get the same answer or not. I guess I just have to wait and see what the policy is come September.....;-) ]
Just confirming that my expired 2019 points were added to my 2020 Bank today. Just need to wait now to see what happens to my 2018 points.

SO...has anyone else had their 2018 points extended yet? I'm a Sept UY with 250 2018 points that are being extended and I've been calling for the last few days and so far my points haven't been extended and wanted to see if any with Sept UY have their points available yet??!!

I have a last name of "B" so I was hoping that would help since maybe they were doing it alphabetically!! But I guess not!

We have a trip in Oct we want to book and I'm feeling quite un-patient!!

Thanks!

My June UY points did not show online but I called MS to confirm that they were there, I then booked new reservations online using my 2020 points and then called MS to reallocate the 2018 points into them, all done in 5 minutes and the 2020 points showed back up in my dashboard immediately.

and that is how I understand the process will go - that I wont see the extended points online but how long after June 1st did it take for your June UY extended points show up - that's what I'm trying to find out..

They keep telling me that they're working on it and it should be done the first week but we're getting close to the end of that week and mine haven't been extended so I was wondering if ANYONE with 2018 Sept UY points have had their points extended yet..

So, my points are still not there....I do love this waiting patiently...I'm getting so good at it!

:crazy2:

Also Sept UY and not "available" yet when I talked to MS this morning. My last name also starts with a "B" so crossing my fingers it's done alphabetically ha!

I know this doesn't make you feel better, but at least I'm not the only one still waiting! Maybe they started with Z and are working backwards??

and I know that there is someone who has to be last..and I keep thinking that it will be me! :crazy2: :crazy2:

ARGH! :headache:

PLEASE update here when your points show up and I'll do the same! The MS I spoke with this morning said she would think by tomorrow but definitely by the 10th....I just keep thinking of all those people that have the points already and are able to book ahead of me...and the dates/resorts we're looking at might be sold out by then..

*just breathe*

:scared:

Just confirming that both my 2018 points banked into 2019 as well as my expired 2019 Points were both credited to my account. Disney had cancelled my March and June trip but I had cancelled an August reservation so was unsure if they would not carry forward my expired points. I have an October trip planned so I'll be using up the 2018 points ahead of the November expiration.

thanks for reporting here your update!! :thumbsup2

I had my 2018 September use year banked points reallocated today to an existing reservation in mid-November. Also had points that were borrowed from 2021 "un-borrowed" as they will be replaced in a Summer 2020 reservation with 2019 banked points that are now freed from the reallocation of the 2018 points. The cascade of changes is a bit hard to describe. I'm glad now that all my "oddball" point cases are dealt with for the time being.

I do have an Aulani reservation for late November using other 2018 points that I rented out which is getting concerning, but not much I can do on that but wait and see what happens...
