Short answer no. As fas as I know they have never opened the stand by queue to the general public. And the ride has so much down time that usually they're calling BG right up until the end of the day.
To add to this... even on occasions when they got through all the BGs early, they have never opened a standby line.

One ride per day and only if you have a BG # has been and will likely continue to be their procedures for quite some time.

They were releasing "standby boarding groups" pre-covid, which were released at park opening after all the planned boarding groups were claimed - it meant you had the possibility of riding if things ran smoothly.
I believe they've done away with that tag of "standby" since it didn't make any difference anyway.
As others have said - no BG, no riding. But I've been curious as well about the idea of trying for a second BG in the same day... everything I've read says the same as stated already - once per day and only if you get a BG.

Is it pretty straightforward getting to the lake, and then walking to HS? Are there signs and/or a sidewalk at the lake directing you to HS?
Looking at Google Maps streetview, it doesn't appear there are signs, but the sidewalk runs right along the street. At the point you come to the Y in the sidewalk, stay to the right. Going to the left will take you to the street and goes over the path you'll need to be on. Like I said though, just put in walking directions on your phone and it should get you right where you need to be.

We are at hollywood studios today. Thanks to this post we got bg 3. We got it over in star wars land at Droid depot. I turned off wifi and closed all my apps. My party that was here was all checked already when I pushed join. I hope that helps someone!

The app now selects everyone in your mde party that is in the park so no need to modify that, it's basically just clicking join 2 times
When I've been practicing, I've had to click "select entire group" as my daughter wasn't selected with me. I'm ready for it.

Tomorrow is the day!

Out of the two options below which seems to be the most effective?
-clicking join right as the clock hits 10
-waiting for 10 and then pulling down the screen/refreshing and then clicking join

I know that’s silly but i feel like sometimes the phone doesn’t register that it’s time to join yet and those seconds are precious!!!

Also my father has his own account and i have my own. We will be the two trying out of our party of 4. That won’t have any hiccup? I get worried that it’ll be glitchy.

I can’t speak to potential glitchiness but in all my practice runs it was faster to hit “join” right at 10am when my phone’s clock turned vs. using the pull down to refresh method.

Yes, you have to select the group when practicing. But when you are actually in the park, everyone who is in the park will be pre-selected on the app.

Technically, you don't have to select them when practicing from home either (and I'd recommend you don't).

You can skip adding other people and just click "join" again to more closely simulate your group being pre-selected when you are actually in the park.

That increases your speed and gives you a better chance of "successfully" practicing since taking time to add other family/friends will probably result in BGs being gone by the time you click "join" again.

As my wife and I were sitting waiting to try for the 10am group the other day a CM stopped to tell us to not both try at the same time as it would “cancel each other out”. I thought it a little odd. Got boarding group 5.

I don't know why they keep saying this, probably to not flood the bandwidth? It's definitely not true

Just to ask, is MMER, SDD, and Rnr the only attractions open “early”? No ToT or MFSR?
There's no correct answer to this since it really depends on the operations department that day. They might decide to open early or not.

Hi Everyone,
I was following this board religiously back in Jan-March, as well as practicing daily , all leading up to a March trip that never happened. We now have a trip at the end of the month so I am trying to catch up on the latest info. I apologize if these questions have been asked before.

1. I know the app now pre-selects your family - will the screen with your family checked still show up or does it bypass that screen all together?
2. How early are they letting people through the turnstiles ? Will taking the sky-liner from CBR give us enough time?
3. Wifi or data?

TIA- My daughter turns 15 on 9/27, our HS day..we will be extremely bummed if we don't get a boarding group.
