I have started practicing at the 2 pm slot as I am usually with a patient at the 9am one. I was finally successful today or at least I think I was. I got the Are you in the park message.
Anyway, I turned off WiFi and location services. Is that what everyone else is doing? If I turn off loca services, is that going to cause a problem with them asking if I am inthe park? What else should I do?

The app is going off whether you're tapped into the park, not your actual location. FWIW, I've gotten BGs with everything turned on. I don't think having things turned on/off makes all that much difference- it's the luck of the draw.

Went this past Tuesday. Uber’d from Riviera to Speedway, quick easy walk. 2 lines were already formed. When they moved us up to the temp check tents, we were the third or forth family in our line. They started to allow people through the temp check around 9:14. We were all the way to the right. They all started doing checks at the same time. We went straight to MMRT and they made an announcement they were getting the ride started soon, but by the time we walked through the queue, it was going. I think we were on the second to third train of the day. Line for slinky was still relatively short, but was scared of the time element. So walked on TSM instead at 9:36. Walked out of the ride sat on a bench at TSM exit for a few minutes and got BG7. Couldn’t have scripted a better morning. Thanks for all the tips here! We had 3 people trying, 2 of us on Verizon with IPhones, 1 on T-Mobile who also had WiFi on, on an android. He never practiced and only downloaded the app the night before. The other two of us have been practicing for weeks. Of course, he was the one that got the BG!

I think they should be putting more than one party in a vehicle. It was the three of us, then a single rider in the other car. Plus the other cars we saw going through the ride when we were were completely empty. I could be wrong but by erring on caution with the one group in a vehicle, they can’t keep up, and lots of wasted cars and people who could have ridden instead of being disappointed. It would not have bothered us one bit to have others in the car.

The ride is quite long. It’s not safe to be close to people that long, plexiglass or not. Especially if someone decides to take off their mask. But anyways, the empty vehicles- if you’re talking about ones that go by you in the first room, those are ones that were just emptied and are returning the load station.

Apologies if this is redundant :).

Haven't followed this thread in a long while but I was looking at the first page (and maybe missed it) and couldn't find the answer. I seem to remember reading somewhere there was a change in the app when attempting to get a BG. When you get to the point of who would be riding, does anyone need to be selected or deselected if they aren't riding? Or does the system now know who is there and highlights them automatically?

(We're traveling in a few weeks and meeting friends after our DHS day, wondering if we should link up now or wait until after our DHS day since they arrive later.)

Thanks!!

So we drove this morning, got to the gates at 8:35, they turned us around. We got back in line at 8:40 about 5 cars back and was held till 8:45 then they let us go up to the booths. Held again till 9. We parked got in and walked on MF. We did the BG rush and my DH, that never practiced, got us BG11. Rode really within 30 mins and now all ride lines are long. Hoping they go down later but it was a great morning.

Yes, those are the ones I believe I saw, thanks for pointing that out. I would feel safe with more on the vehicle still. The ride in the actual vehicle is not longer than other rides we went on where they filled the first and last row of the car.

Yep, anyone that checks into the park will be preselected

We were one of the first few families into DHS again this morning. You really do need to be in line by 8:15 and in the left line if you want to be one of the first through the gates. Also, have all your metal water bottles, umbrellas, and phones/chargers out before you go through the temp scan so you can then get thru the scanners quickly. We were on the first MMRR train, then went to RNR which was walk on, then ToT which was about 15 min wait. We knew we would cut it close for 10:00 but we exited at 9:57. My nephew at home got us BG 7! So we were successful both days this trip and I didn’t get it either time even though I was the one who practiced. The teens are just so much faster lol.

For those that are in larger parties is there any benefit to having multiple people in your group trying to get in a BG or is it better to just have the "main" person try and do it? Since I have heard that the default is selecting everyone in your party and if multiple people in your group all see everyone in the MDE I assume that once someone secures a BG that any other attempts by others would be notified that they are already in a BG, correct?

Have everybody try, gives you more chance of getting one. It will block out after the first 1 gets in

We are going this Tuesday to HS. Staying at Pop Century and trying to figure this all out. Which is best transport way to get into HS as early as possible? Reading conflicting info regarding Skyliner and times, and no busses from Pop. You mention Uber to Speedway? Do they let you walk into entrance and if so, any specific way to go? I was also wondering if the walkway from Disney Boardwalk to Studios is still there, but wondering if you chose the closest spot to walk?

Thank you very much!
Diana

How rigid is the 1-hour return time for BGs? We have a big family trip scheduled and DH really wants to share a Kitchen Sink with the grandkids. I'm going to try to schedule it on our Epcot day, but I may not be able to do it. If we had to book an ADR at B&C at lunchtime on a Studios day, were lucky enough to get a BG, and the BG was called at a time that conflicted with the ADR, could we come late to the BG?

My understanding is they are quite strict although I would go with whatever @yulilin3 says.

Personally I wouldn’t risk it.

They're pretty strict, i would try to make it on time

So, just a quick thank you to all who have contributed to this forum and kept it updated through Covid! I'll post a TR in another forum, but we only spent one day at Disney and did HS on Tuesday, the day after Columbus Day. We stayed off site, took Uber to Swan, walked to HS (10 min, easy walk), got to the lines forming to advance to temp check approximately 8:10 (official park opening was slated for 10am). There are restrooms outside the park with super cold AC, so take advantage. There had been no availability for park reservations for this particular day for a bit. The line to temp check started moving when the Skyliner started, fortunately they let everyone in around 9 and the important rides were running. We fast walked to MMRR, pretty much walked on, made it to SDD, waited about 20 min, got off at 9:57, had my family of 4 get their fingers ready and my heart sank when it said "remove guest from party..." but that's because my DD achieved BG 7! I had practiced for a couple of weeks, but only as work/life allowed, then I had my kids practice a few days. My daughter spam pressed the last Join button as it's grayed out, so you can see it before you can actually press it. That's how she beat me. I head a CM tell someone in our line before entry to just have one person do it, but I felt better having everyone try in case of a glitch. Good luck everyone, they wound up with around 100 BGs that day and we were able to ride every ride in the park with TOT and RNR happening 2x each.
