Which resort is a never or never again for you?

Resorts that are "never again" for me: Carribean Beach, Boardwalk Inn, Beach Club, All-Star Sports
Resorts that I haven't tried and WON'T try: Any value, POFQ (I have visited for meals, I dont like the theme)

People who stay at values tend to go to the parks from opening to closing, while those who stay at Deluxe want to hang out and enjoy resort amenities, plus there are so many visitors all the time.

The value resorts are often very relaxing during the day in comparison to the Deluxe resorts. :)
I totally disagree, I think there are a lot more people who actually like staying at a value more than there are people that just stay there to sleep. Heck if it was that way, then the pools and QS would always be empty in the middle of the day since everyone is at the parks and I know that they're not. LOL We always like to enjoy the resorts that we stay at, and alot of times we do 1 or 2 resort days during a 9 day trip, to hang at the pool etc. We have went from Deluxe (most of our earlier trips) to now picking a Mod or Pop more often because we find more bang for our buck at them. Most of the deluxes are inundated with non-resort guests just visiting or eating there and that is a big turn-off to people, I personally don't mind it. I will say that we found AKL very relaxing the 2 times we stayed there:) If we wanted to splurge we use to always pick a deluxe, but now after 40+ stays at each level, at best we "may" pick a deluxe now. That is why it's is great that they have so many resorts to choose from, everyone values something different:)

I love my solo trips to WDW. I’m currently making my way through the resorts and don’t have many left on my list. As an older solo traveler I’m not sure if I’d feel safe at the Wilderness cabins, so don’t have them on my list. And, I live 15 miles from Saratoga Springs, NY so that one will probably be last on my list.

As much as I have a soft spot in my heart for the All-Stars, I don’t think I could ever stay in them again!

Well of course. I can’t imagine staying at any resort you don’t like. :confused3

My point is, many people book deluxe just to spend time there and enjoy the resort amenities. Fewer people are booking a value simply to enjoy the resort amenities.

Port Orleans, Boardwalk, Saratoga, Old Key West - I hate the themes. I'd rather stay at Saratoga.

Coranado / casitas I hated being so far away from everything. We did not have a car and it was a hike to the tower to pick up my delivery.

Now that we discovered swan I doubt we will ever stay at Disney again

Art of Animation
Nice pools but the quality of a Motel 6: bare bones room, small plastic table & chairs, no closet just a rack & horrifying two story tall Ursula...

Of the 11 WDW resorts I've stayed at, I'll never return to AS Music. The way it's shaped, like a bowling alley, meant that I had to walk by the pool bar every night walking from the bus to my room. For one thing, there was always a bunch of loud, drunk-acting(I don't know if they were drunk, but they sure seemed to be) with foul language there. I stayed at AS Sports once, not nearly as bad-it's laid out differently.
There's virtually no resort that I haven't stayed at that I wouldn't try. One of my favorites is one I had no desire to stay at until it was the only resort available one time, OKW. The only one I wouldn't want to try is Coronado Springs, but that's just me. I've been over there, and since I live right on the Mexican Border, it reminds me too much of home, just much cleaner!

I hate the All Stars and Pop Century, but I like Art of Animation so I won't rule out the entire Value category.

I like all of the Moderates, including the Fort Wilderness Cabins.

But my big "never again" is Beach Club. The whole place reeks like fish and the decorations remind me of your dead great-grandmother's shore house. The old, fading doll/child clothes on the walls add a mothball-infused-horror-movie vibe.

I’m another person in the “never say never” camp. That being said, other than the tower at CSR, I have no desire to stay at any value or moderate resort again. I don’t see the point of having a window in the room if you can’t keep the curtains open without everyone who passes by looking in (I do it myself without thinking). I had no concerns about the motel vibe or entering the room from outdoors. What did bother me was someone pushing a luggage cart on the pavement right outside of the room, which woke me at 2:30 a.m. Very loud!

I wasn’t a fan of the Contemporary when I stayed there a number of years ago and the recent Incredibles theming doesn’t improve my opinion.

I like the Boardwalk Inn, but the rooms were in need of a refurb when I stayed there several years ago and they haven’t been updated since then. I wouldn’t consider staying there again until there is a refurb.

I absolutely positively agree with the not being able to open the window drapes.

As a solo traveler it’s hard to justify the cost of deluxes (especially currently!), but I love having a balcony versus being in a room with the drapes drawn.

Never again: values, Polynesian, and Villas at Grand Floridian.

Polynesian villas are a never again for us because we don’t like studios. Villas at Grand Floridian just didn’t appeal to us, which was surprising because we expected to love it. Values are a never again either because we dislike the small size of value rooms (I refuse to pay for a family suite at a value) and we dislike the lack of water slides.

OKW studio.

First DVC stay with my Poly/BCV points. All that was available.
Did like the oddball layout.
Also confirmed that outside corridors are definitely not for me or DH.

Yes, we live in AZ too, and it does feel too much like home!

We rented DVC points at the Boardwalk Villas (studio) in January and the room was so run down my mood plummeted. We had just transferred over from the Poly. I went to the front desk and they were so sweet. They made a couple calls and got us a savannah room (also a studio) at AKL Kidani, so we packed up and drove over right away. We were so grateful and we loved our room. The animals were the highlight of my vacation.

I love them all but Saratoga was not one of my favorite places to stay...bus waits were terrible.... My wife was not a big fan of Grand Floridian Villas...she said never again

Kidani-after staying at Jambo house, felt like it was a definite let down. It was awhile ago, but I remember walking through the parking lot to get to the pool-and no quick serve. That's the only resort I wouldn't stay at again. Even if the 1 bedrooms do have the 2 baths, did not like it at all.

Poly. While we loved the food options, we did not enjoy the layout. My DD (10) was not born when we stayed there. Since she is a beach bum, I asked her if she might like to stay there on our Sept trip - Mama, I do NOT want a Hawaiian themed vacation. Her logic was we should just go to Hawaii 😃
