DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

And be careful… I’ve (literally) driven 1000 miles out of my way for good ice cream (and fried chicken, although that one fell through) so who knows how far I’d go for bacon.
Don't give it to him. He isn't lying about driving. You may not be able to get rid of him as long as you have bacon. :rotfl2:

Evening all...
Busy weekend so I'm behind on being behind on catching up 'round here (so what else is new)...

I foolishly volunteered to rejoin one of the local church's musician rotation and they waisted no time in booking me for every weekend I had open this month. Not that I don't like doing a bit of playing-out, but between the rehearsals and services, it does tend to nuke entire weekends, which makes for really exhausting Mondays. Not as exhausting as say... Ponzie's Mondays, but still...

Eeeh... could be worse. I did volunteer on purpose and I will get to jam with a friend of mine every once and a while (which was my actual motive in the first place). The current schedule has that not occurring for a month or more though, which is disappointing.

Really enjoyed that. We camped 2 nights on the Yorktown when my son was in cub scouts. We went to Sumpter(I think) or one of the forts.
Been aboard that one a half dozen times of better. I also got to do the Scout's overnight with my young'en back when he wasn't all growed up. Was a great experience.

As for the forts, if you took a boat, it was Sumpter; if you drove, it was Moultrie

That's it, I'm calling it. Work week over. Last one to Jock Lindsey's for Air Pirate's mules has to take the queen of hearts home and let me tell ya, when she says off with his head, you would rather she meant kill you.
The Royal Bobbitt...

Good morning guys! I’ve been lurking around the boards for a bit, but just found this thread/group. As the handle says I’m Pete from central PA and have 2 girls(4 & 2) with a third(boy) on the way. I have a lot of posts to catch up on but just wanted to say “Hey!”
Welcome sir.
We're glad to have you along.

Do I get to wear a cool hat? Like the captain of a boat.
Of course...
Just post up a couple pics of said cranial covering and we'll see if it meets out lofty standards.

Yeah right...
Like we have standards.

Morning folks
Rumour has it that it’s not gonna rain today. That’d be nice.
Yeah, but since it didn't rain, I was deprived of my only remaining excuse for not getting my rump out there mowing the yard after work this evening.

Win some, lose some.

Morning all. Working at the home office today.
Lord, I do miss being able to do that.
Was nice while it lasted.

Morning already? Where did yesterday go???
It got left behind, it failed to keep up.
Did it fail to keep up, or did someone trip it so that they wouldn't be the last in line?

It got left behind, it failed to keep up.
Loser day. It deserved to be left.

Or right.

Whichever.
Don't give it to him. He isn't lying about driving. You may not be able to get rid of him as long as you have bacon. :rotfl2:
This is a truism.
Life is like a box of chocolates.
You can melt it and drink it?
Same place it always does...it went into the past.
Oh! Right! I passed it on the way to work.
I foolishly volunteered to rejoin one of the local church's musician rotation and they waisted no time in booking me for every weekend I had open this month.
Whoops!
I did volunteer on purpose and I will get to jam with a friend of mine every once and a while
Well that’s alright then.
Yeah, but since it didn't rain, I was deprived of my only remaining excuse for not getting my rump out there mowing the yard after work this evening.
How do you mow under all the snow?

How do you mow under all the snow?
The snow here is invisible...

So we have to attach an invisible snow blower to the front of the regular visible lawn mower and take care of both jobs at the same time. luckily the attachment also uses invisible fuel, or we'd be paying double for the petrol.

Hey, Guys! Hope everyone's doing well. Had a short day yesterday. I had to got to an appointment in the morning and didn't get to work until 9am, but had to leave at 3:30 pm for training until 6 pm, so while it was a long day, work wise it wasn't. Outside that I've got nothing. So have a good day, guys, and we'll chat later.

Mama always said I was special.

Did she tell you about the box of chocolates?

Morning already? Where did yesterday go???

Someone tripped it.

Life is like a box of chocolates.

Which makes it special.

Evening all...

That's me and cleaning and organizing the house.

I'm a trained operatic tenor and will often times get people asking me at church to join the choir. My response is, "Thank you, but no, I don't have the time." What I'm not telling them is that I don't want to give up my time during the week for rehearsals. Also, if I want to skip going to church one Sunday I can do it without feeling too guilty.

At least you get to jam with a friend. That's cool.

Whew! Ok, you scared me there for a minute. I thought you were going to establish some standards.

Yeah, but since it didn't rain, I was deprived of my only remaining excuse for not getting my rump out there mowing the yard after work this evening.

Win some, lose some.

You could always use my excuse, which is....oh, that's right, I don't have an excuse. Never mind.

Morning, fellas. Back at work after a spring break trip and unexpected illness, and I feel like I'll never dig out from the mountain of

The worst part of this is, you know you're doing it to yourself.

As for the forts, if you took a boat, it was Sumpter; if you drove, it was Moultrie
And if we did both....we're gluttons for punishment.

You know there can't be....they let me in.

And if we did both....we're gluttons for punishment.
Dang it, my other multiquote went bye bye again.

I had quoted @GoofyIsAsGoofyDoes. And it was Sumpter by boat.

As for you Mark, I guess I wasn't a glutton...at least not for punishment. Wait! That can't be true...I've been married for over 30 years....obviously not true.

The snow here is invisible...
Whoa… how does that happen??
So we have to attach an invisible snow blower to the front of the regular visible lawn mower and take care of both jobs at the same time. luckily the attachment also uses invisible fuel, or we'd be paying double for the petrol.
Cool!
I need to get one of those.
so while it was a long day, work wise it wasn't.
That’s an okay day then.
Did she tell you about the box of chocolates?
She bought me a box. So there. :snooty:

Mountain of what? What????

Glad you’re feeling better.

Mountain of whatever Dave and Scotty and Drew left for him while they were supposedly being good. :lmao:

It was probably too horrible to mention.

Actually, I would imagine it's a mountain of paperwork or work in general. I know when I get back from vacation, I typically have to work 5 times harder to try to catch up and either regret taking a vacation at all or want to leave on another immediately.

Even though you work crazy hours, at least in your line of work, it doesn't stack up on you while you're gone. Be thankful for that.

So as long as you're in the club there club there can't be any standards? Good, you're not leaving.

She bought me a box. So there. :snooty:

Well aren't you special

Greetings, Starfighters!
I am leaving the Shire, because I never received a letter from Hogwarts like my Mother. I am going to Star Fleet Academy to learn to be a Jedi, like my Father before me.
Thank you, and May the Odds be Ever in Your Favor!

Oh I am… I am.

That’s what she said.

Wait… is that how I’m supposed to use that?
