If you are watching the coronation, are you team Camellia

It is astonishing that anyone would describe a ceremony that is steeped in symbolism, rituals and traditions, which have been followed for over 1000 years as ‘boring’. How can history be boring?
Like beauty, boring is in the eye of the beholder.

I personally do like history, and enjoyed watching some of the coverage, but I don't expect everyone to. (I also like math, and plenty of people hate that.)

Those that say, Camilla shouldn’t be wearing the crown I then ask under what circumstances does one deserve to wear a crown? Only first wives, vitginal wives when they married, or produced a hier.? I say she deserves the title and crown seeing how devoted she is to Charles and she has proven herself as a working royal. I just feel bad for her because you can tell physically it’s taking a toll on her. My mom and I were both worried that not only with the crown fall on the floor but also she.

Or maybe the years of heavy smoking have taken a serious toll.

I think Camilla's only thought was: please don't drop it.

When you saw how much she was trying to fix her hair. Such a pity you cannot customize a crown like you can with a ring 😉

You can usually see it with US presidents. They go into office looking one way and 4 or 8 years later look like they have aged a couple of decades. I think Obama and George W both demonstraetd that quite a bit.

However, I saw photos of Justin Trudeau from the coronation and I think that man is aging in reverse. Seriously, he doesn't look like he has obviously aged in the last few years. Granted, as an American, I don't see potos of him nearly as often as I do our own presidents but still. Must be all the clean air and friendliness up there.

PRINCE Philip never was called KING, and I don't think he ever wore a CROWN.

No issues with them marrying. Some issues why it didn't disqualify him from being King.

There is no reason to call her Queen, or especially to wear a Crown.

Because women take their husbands names/position. Men don't take their wives names. It's the patriarchy at work.

Yup, I was trying to explain this to my mom this weekend. The wife of a King is called Queen. However, a female ruler in her own right is also called Queen, but her husband is not King. Because Kings are seen as more powerful than Queens. Makes perfect sense, right? :P

Since the rules of secession changed to allow firstborn females to inherit the throne, I think they should change the tradition so the wife of the King is called Princess. 🤷‍♀️

If King Charles III dies before Queen Camilla, Prince William will become King, but I wonder whether Queen Camilla will be known as Queen Mother? Queen Stepmother sounds a little odd.

I think technically the title is the Queen Dowager but Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother didn't like the title so she was known as the Queen Mother.

Perhaps Camilla would be ok with Queen Dowager. It would solve the issue neatly.
