Bounceback Information and FAQ Thread - 25-35% off BOUNCEBACKS ARE BACK for 2024/2025!

Does anyone know if there is a date that the bounce back offer will end? We have one more trip planned in 2023 which will allow me to book a 2024 bounce back. But I'm wondering if they will still offer it for guests staying in a WDW resort in 2024.
At this time an end date of the BounceBack offer has not been announced.

Just thinking about this, and remembering how the original BB offers worked.... back in the olden times, you could only book through the end of the current year.... nothing in the next year. I wonder if starting Jan 1, maybe you will only be able to book through the end of 2024? And then new offers starting up at some point during the year that could cover the 2025 dates? Who knows, probably depends on occupancy at that time.

I currently have a reservation at rack rates for early April, but I'm waiting, like many of you are, to see if they release other AP Specials Offers for dates after the end of March, and hoping I could convert it.

But if not by the time of our Dec 3-10 trip, I'll try to get a BB.

My questions about that are:
  1. If they do announce a Special Offer covering my dates, can I convert the BB one to the AP rates if it's better (and available, of course), or will I need to book a whole new one (if available)?
  2. And if this does come about, can I do it on the app or website, or would I need to call....??

Sorry but my experience was different as there were a few different BB offers each year.

For years I booked a free dining bb in Sep for the Sep of the following year. I did this for probably 10 years in a row.

Yeah, this was a really long time ago.... I just remember trying to call from the resort, (probably in the fall) and they said I could only book through the end of the year...maybe they dropped a new Free Dining one after our trip. Doesn't matter, they've changed it considerably since then, so who knows what they will offer in the future....

Just wondering about the questions if anyone knows or has an educated guess:

My information is from Sep 2019 and I booked a FD BB that was booked for 2020 (before later being cancelled by Disney).

We also need to take into account that BB offers were paused from Mar 2020 until Jun 2023 so yes, most people's experiences when it comes to former BB offers are old.

None of us truly knows how the new-era BB offers will behave as what's happened so far does not follow old patterns.

1. Possibly. If there is availability you may be able to switch. Or, you can cancel your BB and rebook the AP rate if it's a better savings.
2. You would need to call as you can only book a BB on the phone and therefore can only modify a BB offer on the phone also.

@scrappinginontario & @jlundeen, you’re both right.

In the “before times” of free dining, bounceback offers were for the same year until sometime in mid August. At that time, the offer changed to a bounceback free dining package for the following year. That was in place til sometime in October, when it went to a room discount for the following year. The book by dates were not usually announced, the new bouncebacks just showed up.

There were bounceback discounts even before free dining, but I don’t remember the timing for when those changed to the following year. No way to know what will happen next year about dates. It’s a whole different ballgame than it was before 2020.

Edit to add: Yes, you can convert a bounceback to a different offer, but as noted, you have to call. Even if you decide to just book the new offer, you’d have to call to cancel the BB. If you happen to find the exact room you want at a better discount, you might want to grab it & book it. Yes, you’d have to pay a new deposit. Then call & see if they can move your deposit to the new reservation. Rooms can come & go from offers in an instant. Especially if you find something late at night, (which I have), it may be gone by the time CRO opens the next day.

Just got back from a birthday weekend celebration and i called to see if the bounceback offer would be better for our upcoming stay in February that I've already booked using my annual pass. She asked for my confirmation number to compare and would have been able to switch it over immediately but It was exactly the same, down to the penny, and the cast member I spoke with said the annual pass discounts are either the same or slightly better, across the board.

side note: used my cell phone to call and it landed me on the same old disney central line and hung up on me once I said "bounceback offer" switched to using the phone in the room using that number and it was still a long involved process to get connected to a cast member who knew what I wanted (2 transfers)

We returned from WDW on Saturday and I called the number listed on the BB offer - 407-934-7639 to book a return for Dec 3-7, 2024. We are AP holders and I had to argue vigorously to get the CM to book our reservation as room only. She even had to put me on hold to see if it was "okay" to make it a room only. But I got what I wanted. :)

I think it has been tough to get what you want for a BB offer. I got a BB non cl room at YC for December 2024, but canceled it when Disney stated they are going to give discounts for Disney plus members stating in January 2024. I want a CL room.

I posted earlier in this thread of my bounce back offer experience. Thankfully I didn't have your CM. Mine was great. As with all reservation CM's it really does depend on who answers your call. Some are 👍 others 👎.Glad you got what you wanted.

I would have kept the BB offer, you can modify it if what you want becomes available. If you cancel, you can't modify. The room I wanted was not originally available for the BB offer, but the CM had me book a reservation anyways, because she said at least the discount was locked in. I did, and kept calling back and the room I wanted originally became available. I am also going to see what the Disney+ offer is, I don't expect it to be better than 35% off a deluxe. If it is better, I'll book that if they have the room I want and then cancel the BB reservation. Hope you get your CL room!

I agree. And no dates have been given, it may not even be offered in December.

There was some chatter on a blog that based on the picture in the email (a family dining at topolinos) that the Disney + deal might involve something with the dining plan or a free dining offer.

Currently have a bounceback offer booked CR June 9-11 and BC June 11-18.

Waiting to see what Disney Plus and AP offers. Wanted CL but no availability with BB offer.

You cancelled a room in hopes you get a better offer on a different room? Why cancel an offer you have now hoping a D+ offer comes along on the dates and place and room type you want when all you had at risk was a fully refundable deposit? I really can’t figure out the logic of that move. If you definitely didn’t want the room you never would have booked in the first place. Are you assuming from the announcements Disney+ members will be guaranteed discounts on available rooms? If so I hope so- but it’s not a gamble I’d be willing to take…

You don’t need to figure out my logic, you’re not going with me.
I want a CL room and that room was not what I wanted. I have been around to know but the BB offer was not the greatest offer that Disney provides. They did not release a lot of rooms. I could not get the CL room I wanted.
I can get a YC WV room anytime I want so that was not special enough for the discount I wanted keep so I released the room for someone else to have instead of holding a room I knew I was going to release anyway. I call that not being selfish and allowing someone else the experience.
Disney will have other offers throughout the year starting with the Disneyplus offer in January. If it not what I want there will be other offers. The last time Disney offered a Disney+ offer I receive the CL room I wanted pretty quickly.
I am very flexible that I can go anywhere I want when I want and pay what I want when I want to go. Right now I have made other vacation plans elsewhere for 2024 and if I Disney trip offer comes up then I will consider it

The Disney trip in October and November that I took was not the most memorable Disney Magic trip I have had in the dozens of Disney trips I have taken. CL food was not up to par, and I got ill from it, rides where again broken down especially on Halloween party night, Epcot rides were also broken down.
The best part of the trip was SAB and the weather so that my friend is my logic and it works for me.

Do you think it was an isolated thing or do you feel YC CL is on a downward trend? I know you were such a fan of it, your trip report is making me nervous to try it again (last time we did CL there was pre-COVID)

I’m sure that btwn now and next year, there will be some other discounts that include CL. I know I tried to get CL with a BB for this coming summer and despite trying lots of different dates, there was barely any CL.

I am hoping it was just a one time thing. I did not make a big deal about it when I was there because I really do like all the CM’s at the YC CL. But definitely the food quality was not the same and it was warm but not hot. I know they use Ale and Compass and Cape May for their kitchens. CM’s have told me. In 2021 and 2022 everything was fine. This year the room was great, mousekeeping was wonderful, SAB was great my only disappointment was the food although there were more midday snacks than last year. I would still go especially since I respect your opinion and would love to see your take. I just need some time off unless I land an incredible offer.

The offer I have is 40% off at the YC CL. The discounts at the CR are not as deep. I haven’t been back to YC CL since prior to COVID. We have been a couple of times before CL reopened. I’ve just become a real CR fan since COVID and feel like they’ve stepped up their game since the shutdown, while YC has had the reverse happen. I love the conscience of CL, but hate the idea of wasting my “ Disney calories” on what you are describing—especially the lukewarm part. I think the great discount is pulling me, but I’m second guessing (particularly during the colder months).
P.s. what additions did they have for midday snacks?
